We are veteran owned and veteran operated. Our only goal is to be a part of helping you have a better life with your dog. We only do board and train options because it gives you and your dog a reset. Private sessions work for the right situations, but we have been more successful when dogs come and stay with us. The training then moves to 1:1 sessions with you to teach you how to continue your dogs progress and how to establish boundaries necessary to live in harmony with your dog.

Working with Down Range K9 was a blessing in disguise. At first when my dog came home I thought my dog would be perfect and was really disappointed I didn’t see immediate results. I spoke to Ryan and he ensured me that if I stick with my follow up sessions and follow his recommendations that I would see results. Oh my gosh what a difference. It does take him awhile to get back to me because when he is training he does not stop to text back, but I love that I do talk directly to him every time I have an issue. If it’s not something we can fix on the phone then we set up a a date for him to come to my house to help. He has been my safety net through many different issues that come up with my dog. It is very reassuring to know I can always ask questions even when the training sessions are complete.

I grew up in Kettering, Ohio around plenty of furry friends! I rode horses competitively in high school and college, deemed myself the neighborhood dog walker, and schooled my first dog love, a golden retriever named Max, in agility.  When I decided to get a dog as an adult, I set my sights on a very independent and intelligent breed of dog, the Beauceron. He was a far cry from my gentle and fluffy golden retriever.

Melissa was hands down fabulous with my dog Mollie. She took the time needed with her and gave me lots of verbal and written feedback after working on various commands I needed to get Mollie comfortable with. She is affordable, flexible, knowledgeable, and works very well with dogs and their owner. I am ready to set up some training time for my new dog Duke and I can't wait to see how he progresses after working with Melissa. I have recommended her to many friends of mine!!

We signed our Miniature Schnauzer puppy (Sofie) up for the basic obedience class at K9 Solutions and they exceeded our expectations. Chad was our instructor and is a true Dog Whisperer. Sofie listened to him and then to us in ways she hadn't before. Because of the training, she is a much better pup and more enjoyable to take with us to parks, on walks, etc. We highly recommend K9 Solutions.

Dayton Dog Trainer enjoys fixing complex dog issues that are causing major issues within the home. We have literally seen families in tears, fighting among themselves and very stressful households due to issues their family dog is bringing. Understanding that we are their last hope, in many situations ... and being able to completely turn things around for that family, is what we enjoy most.
The trainers at Dayton Dog Trainer were already working with dogs in their other careers, so it seemed a perfect fit to start a company that would offer and provide this type of dog training service to the public.
Unlike most other training companies, we understand that there is much more to owning a dog than sit, stay, down and walking on a leash, which wis why we DO NOT offer the same old "one size fits all" type training. Those simple commands are not going to do anything for you when your dog is bolting out the door ... or jumping all over your guests as they enter your home ... and they definitely aren't going to help when you have an aggressive dog. Each dog is different, with different needs and each owners is different, with different needs.
As with any of our services, Handler Training is provided to our clients, so that the owner or family of the dog is on the same page. We train you to know what to do, how to read and interpret body language and energy, how to properly command and correct and how to be proactive, rather than reactive.
