I posted on bark about a recently developed issue between two of my dogs. Anthony reached out that night and set up a phone call the following morning. I had spoke with a trainer 5 minutes before my call with Anthony. Anthony listened to my issue and where I thought the issue stemmed from. He posed some really helpful questions and explained the reasons behind his questions. He offered to come out and evaluate my dogs that day. We set up an evaluation a few days later as I had to seek medical attention for my dogs. He came out and did his evaluation, he told us what he saw as the problem which backed what I thought it was. He gave us some direction on how to fix the issue and reassured us that all we had to do was reach out if we needed his assistance in the matter. I would definitely recommend Anthony and RBK Line!

A Little Bit About Us... K9 Karma works with people who want more...People who want to have a bond with their dog that is bred on trust and understanding of each other. People who want their dog to be a member of their family pack rather than a fixture in their home. Each client works from an Individualized Training Program proprietary to K9 Karma and created for you based on your lifestyle and behaviors important to you. We teach you theory, concepts and skills that allow you to work with your dog for LIFE. Our training is very different from other programs - and was developed for those who want MORE. We offer innovative and interactive personalized training programs that teach both the human and the dog. As both canines and humans are most comfortable in their own homes, we come to you. We also bring together a group of trainers from various backgrounds, with many years of experience, so we can offer you the techniques and tools best suited to your particular situation. Canines have become a huge part of our daily lives. We consider them our friends, our family and even our protectors. Our dogs give us unconditional love and don't understand why they don't get the same from us. At K9 Karma, we get it. It's hard to snuggle up to your pup right after it's chewed your new shoes or run off down the block - yet again. As humans we comprehend what we want from dogs - but, we have to understand they can't comprehend what we want from them without some help. Help your dog understand what you want from them. Give them proper direction through using the power of the knowledge and skills offered through a K9 Karma training program and life your best lives together. Every member of our staff is trained in canine CPR and also a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen tester. Remember.... we get what we give! If we're not willing to give our dog our best we can't expect their best from them. There are two ends to every leash. We give you the tools to make sure yours is in control!
We absolutely LOVE what we do - and we do it well!
What we love the most is that we can honestly tell our clients to expect more from us than they do from other trainers. We offer totally customized, unique training that gives the human opportunity to be a trainer in their own right - instead of just watching from the sidelines.
It may seem odd for a company to tell potential clients to "expect more". K9 Karma wants our clients to expect a lot from us - we want you to expect more than you've gotten from past trainers, more than you've gotten from other service people in other phases of your lives and more than you've gotten from any other customer service person you've dealt with in the past. We're comfortable doing this for many reasons......
The success of the team that consists of you, your dog and your trainer should be the priority.
You pay for a high level of quality when you team with K9 Karma - you should expect to get it
Your dog is a member of your family - we should treat them with the same level of care you would treat them with.
Everyone should expect to be respected and valued in any business relationship.
You are valued not only as a paying customer but as someone who values a living creature.
K9 Karma came to exist out of the grass roots philosophy that three very different trainers had in common. Each founding trainer has a different background, different types of experiences and was taught to train in different ways from each other. When the three of us met we were all impressed with the other's skills, knowledge and technique. All of us already acknowledged what many others have trouble understanding: you can have a "trained" dog that will mechanically move in a certain way to a certain command and become like a "thing" you live with OR you can have an understanding of each other that let's you live together in harmony. When all three of us stumbled on the fact that we all have advocating for the canine life as a priority we knew we had something great going and we joined forces to become K9 Karma.
So...we believe who we consciously choose NOT to be is as important as who we ARE. What you give is what you get. We insist on giving our best. We are organized like a larger business than we are, but we are not run like a big business company. We keep our feet on the ground and our eyes on the prize: bettering the lives of canines and clients "seeing the light" when they have that moment where it clicks and they are from that moment on - empowered in their training!
We don't watch the clock during sessions
We don't sign-on and then move on to the next sign-on thinking we're done
We don't close our ears to your questions because we can answer all of them - and if we can't we will find the answers.
We don't consider us on different levels - we are a TEAM - you, us and your dog.
If you think we'd be a good fit, set up a consult. If we are - we'll meet and you could be on to a whole different way of life with your dog.
Welcome.
We believe customers should ask any and all questions they can think of but the MOST important thing is the fit of the TEAM. Most people do not consider the fact that the team consists of THREE beings - not just two.
How ARE you supposed to pick the trainer that is going to be the best for you and your dog? If you go through the internet you have 100's to pick from. If you go from your friend's referral you have to wonder if you want the same things they did from their dog. What do you consider:

The most expensive trainer?
The one with the coolest T-Shirts?
The one with the best sales pitch?
The one with the best prices?
We could go on and on and on....
As people who looked for trainers ourselves (which led us on this path) we learned that none of those things should be part of the decision. We tried them all.
We went through the one that pulled up in the fancy car and had the fancy clothes - along with the fancy price tag.
We tried the big box store thinking that would be more basic and give us all we needed.
We tried the one in the middle of the road as far as pricing went and learned their knowledge was middle of the road, too.
In the end we wanted to find one that had their heart and soul in our relationship with our dog - and that was hard to come by!
Through our years of owning dogs, having trainers and becoming trainers ourselves we came to find that no one realizes there are THREE opinions that should go into the decision. Typically, we make a few phone calls and end up liking a few trainers we've spoken to. Sometimes we haven't even spoken to the trainer - we haven't gotten past the receptionist! We may even decide we like one well enough to pay for the consult (because after all - who would charge for a consult if they weren't great trainers?!). There is a sidebar here that has to be considered.... isn't it possible that once we are paying for a consult we are more likely to WANT to like that trainer so our money isn't wasted? Right there we find a conflict. All of this makes the third vote the common sense one to go with.....

So, who are these three "votes" that go into this decision that will have an affect on the next, possibly, 15 years of your life? Well...
1. You as the customer
2. Us as the trainer
3. Most importantly - YOUR DOG
You can have the best trainer in the world, but if your dog "isn't feeling it" the experience is going to be stressful instead of comfortable for them. When this occurs, the human becomes frustrated which transfers to the dog and creates a cycle of discontent that makes it impossible to have the best results. Compounding this is when the human and dog are not at their best - the trainer is not going to be at their best. Nobody is getting the best out of this situation.

As the human you have the opportunity to form an opinion before we come to your house - based on our phone consult. Your dog doesn't get that chance. It's important you read him/her and select a trainer that demonstrates a positive rapport with your dog in addition to seeing your him/her be comfortable with that trainer before you even consider hiring. Your dog doesn't have to like everyone. Your pet will certainly learn better and be more comfortable learning from someone it DOES like. If you care enough to train your pet try to care enough to make sure you have a trainer who is a good fit.
