At Big Sky Dog Training, our mission is to create an environment where you and your dog are learning together in a positive and fun environment.
Big Sky Dog Training goes beyond the mechanics of obedience commands. We strive to provide a safe, effective, high-quality, reward-based training program. Our program helps you develop an optimum relationship with your dog, which enables your dog to understand that you are a safe, strong, dependable, fair and consistent leader your dog wants to obey.
After adopting a puppy from Lambs Farm we given information about dog training with Montana who works with a lot of the Wright-Way Rescue dogs (Wright-Way is associated with Lambs Farm dogs for adoption). Montana was fantastic in many ways:
1). She replied to my emails and spoke to me on the phone to answer all my questions and offer suggestions before class starts. Very accessible.
2). She is very attentive to each dog/puppy/person in class.
3). She brings so many items with her to help all the participants in class, if you think you may need a harness versus a collar she may have one for you to try.
4). She is full of suggestions if one thing is not working.
5). Her style is great.
I highly recommend Montana and Big Sky Dog Training. She cares.
If you don't work with your dog or puppy outside of class, then you will have a longer road.

Everyone who volunteers and works here is absolutely amazing. They really take their time to explain the dogs and are very helpful and friendly to folks looking to adopt. They let us visit with a lot of dogs and I love seeing so many people come in and out to visit and take dogs for walks. It is a lovely way to interact with the pups, and all of the employees at CCR are phenomenal in organizing this. CCR is a great community organization as well as a caring and proactive rescue. After a long search we just found our newest furry family member, and we are so grateful to Chicago Canine Rescue. If I could give more than five stars, I would.
We’ve been coming here for 12 years. Started with agility classes and as our dog aged we enrolled in nosework. Instructors are knowledgeable, enthusiastic and know how to make training fun. Nancy and her crew are top notch! They have been a great help to understand our dogs based on their individual personalities and abilities. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who loves their dog!
We cannot say enough about Off Leash K9 Training and our trainer, Alexia. We brought our very leash reactive 7 month old Mini Australian Shepard to her. She had become very reactive around both people and other dogs, including barking at them and not being able to move past them on our daily walks. Honestly, we were very worried that Alexia would not be able to help us, given how reactive our pup was with everything. Today, we are amazed at what she has done with our puppy, Penny. It is now a joy to walk Penny every day (she walks at a perfect heel), and my husband and I have loved working with the tools and the strategies that she has taught us to continue our training with Penny. Penny is so much more confident and the barking has virtually stopped all together. Alexia is beyond kind and sends updates every day on how your pup is doing and continues to be a support today with any question we have. We cannot thank Alexia and Off Leash K9 Training enough for everything that they have done for our family!
Ive had the pleasure of working with Thunder for a 4 session package for my deaf rescue. He was able to get me to understand what she needs from me and what I need her to do. She was lunging and trying to bite ppl and dogs outside on walks. We worked with her and he taught me what tools to use. From the first day of her being out of control to today where we went to Petco to see how her training has helped her reactivity and guess what? It was an adoption event with a lot of dogs. She did so well I could barely believe it. He even brought his own dog to help with training. I would recommend him to anyone who needs help to become the pack leader or work on specific training. Thanks Thunder for all your help!
We love Jennifer's approach to training. She addresses both the dog and the people making it a true partnership in the learning process. We have always had rescue dogs that can come with a myriad of issues. Jennifer is patient, gentle and thoughtful in her training style. She provides training tips and "homework" to do before the next session. She also provides an e-mail with details of that session and a review of what to work on. Jennifer has a way of making training fun and enjoyable. Austin loves her and her dog Hannah!!
Wonderful! I board my cat, several times for extended time, and I get updates and hewas obviously well cared for and happy when I get him. They also remember him from prior visits and they are always smiling and friendly. I've seen the cat condos and they're clean and well cared for and they have a nice open space the cats have individual time to enjoy. Highly recommend.
Our Omaha is a pup with A LOT of personality and we've been hesitant to drop him off anywhere. My husband and I wanted to find Omaha a place to run but because he is a hound and his nose gets him in trouble, we needed a fenced in area. Our Family Pet Sitting came HIGHLY recommended to me multiple times, so we tried them. Oh my goodness were we happy and Omaha was even happier (tired too). Now, we bring Omaha and he tries jumping out the window when we pull up!!! Without hesitation Our Family took Omaha an extra night when I was in a jam. They're loving and compassionate individuals here and truly care about the dogs here! I know my little man's food allergy will always be taken into consideration too!! Thank you Kelly and Joe for all you do and Omaha will be seeing you soon!! ?
I got a rescue dog or year and a half ago and everybody told me I should give him back. He jumped on people, ate all my furniture and he had aggressive tendencies. A neighbor across the street recommended sit means sit and I called. Where's the best phone call I made. Kerry treated him with loving care and kept him for as long as she thought he needed so he can return a civilized dog. She has been more than wonderful and has help me out by taking him back to her house on emergency occasions and otherwise. Without her he would be looking for a new home. I can't say enough good things about this organization.
I adopted Gravy, a 7-year old pittie, in November 2016. He had a high level of separation anxiety, and would injure himself trying to break out of his crate. A couple of friends recommended Found. A combination of training sessions, daycare, home training, meds, and patience have resulted in Gravy being calm in his crate when I leave. Gravy was also dog-reactive, and there really was no other daycare he would be allowed to attend. For months, Found would stucture "playgroups" that might be just one other dog that he could play nicely with. Even after having him for over a year, he still goes to Found twice a week. He loves it. Now his playgroups are him, and up to 9 other dogs (All girls! He's a ladies man!). The staff is great... they are receptive to constructive criticism and most importantly, take great care of my guy.
Great training facility! The people that work there love your dog as much as you would want someone to love them. They work very hard to the best for your pet and whatever training needs they may need. The results are astounding! They offer discounts for when u want or may need a refresher course. They a los have boarding options as well that are competitive in pricing. You won't be disappointed with the care and service they provide.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with the Hinsdale Humane Society. I initially went in to see a certain dog and after our interview they were pretty clear about that dog not being the right fit. We ended up with our baby Pickles and she is perfect for us. I really appreciate that they made sure that there was a match even though I initially was a little sad about it... but that's what being a responsible Humane Society is all about! We have been so happy with our girl and will definitely use the Hinsdale Humane Society when we are ready to adopt again!
Amazing!!! Friendly, safe facility. I love that I can watch my dog on my phone. Their entire concept is beyond great. No cages and wide open spaces for the dogs to play. They disinfect the play area all throughout the day. I can not say enough good things about this place. They have a customer for life in me.
Great place. They send you photos - I boarded my pup for 6 days and got a photo nearly every day. They'll also give you personalized updates if you want to check in on your dog. Not just a generic 'they're doing well,' but actual specific comments so you know they pay close attention to each individual dog. Rosie will be back, she loves it there!
Scott at K9 Tutoring did an awesome job with my very active and at times stubborn Mini Aussie. :) He taught him patience which I didn't think was possible. Ollie is a now a well behaved 9 mth old puppy! He gave us great advice on how to keep up and continue his training and is there to answer any questions I have.
Brought my pup there for his first day and he was POOPED! It was so clean inside it smelled like new construction. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I am so glad they opened in town, we needed a doggy daycare! I was driving 45 min to take my dog to a reputable one. The updates/pictures on Facebook was a sweet touch. It made me smile knowing his first day went well. Thank you!
