Network Services
A managed network allows an organization to source the infrastructure, software and technical support services essential to operate and manage an IP-based communication network. Managed networks may provide hardware infrastructure resources such as servers, routers and switches, as well as operating system and firewall software to run and secure the backend infrastructure and the data stored over it. The whole system is entirely monitored and maintained by the service provider.
Communication Services
Managed communication services comprise of email, unified communications and VoIP (voice over IP). The vendors are planning to shift their services to cloud-based delivery with the intention to provide the customers the choice of having a mobile access to unified communication platforms that are hosted by the provider or a third party.
Cloud Services
Managed cloud services are the partial or complete management and control of a client’s cloud platform, including migration, maintenance and optimization. By using a managed cloud service provider, a business can ensure its cloud resources run efficiently. Outsourcing cloud management also allows businesses to avoid new hiring and training costs.
Print Services
Managed print services (MPS) are services offered by an external provider to optimize or manage a company’s document output. The main components provided are needs assessment, selective or general replacement of hardware, and the service, parts and supplies needed to operate the new and/or existing hardware (including existing third-party equipment if this is required by the customer). The provider also tracks how the printer, fax, copier and MFP fleet is being used, the problems, and the user’s satisfaction.
Security Services
Managed Security Service is the outsourcing of all or some of your organization’s security operations. Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) may completely handle your security at an off-site location, or be the ones who set-up the infrastructure on-site leaving your organization to manage it. This is a catch-all service for remote security infrastructure. It covers everything from BDR solutions to anti-malware options, keeping them updated in real-time.
Software as a Service (SaaS)
Software as a service (or SaaS) is a way of delivering applications over the Internet—as a service. Instead of installing and maintaining software, you simply access it via the Internet, freeing yourself from complex software and hardware management.
SaaS applications are sometimes called Web-based software, on-demand software, or hosted software. Whatever the name, SaaS applications run on a SaaS provider’s servers. The provider manages access to the application, including security, availability, and performance.
Support Services
covers all services related to IT help — from troubleshooting to dealing with advanced issues.
During business operations, members of your staff may encounter issues regarding a particular system program, prompt or protocol. With managed IT support services, each staffer can contact the remote support center for help on any given issue.
Wireless and Mobile Computing
Mobile computing is a generic term that refers to a variety of devices that allow people to access data and information from wherever they are. Mobile computing transports data, voice, and video over a network via a mobile device.
Mobile devices can be connected to a local area network (LAN), or they can take advantage of Wi-Fi or wireless technology by connecting via a wireless local area network (WLAN). Mobile phone services also provide mobile computing through their service plans.
