What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Pros talk not about taking a great photo, but making a great photo. A great photo includes technical expertise in elements such as lens choice, lighting and color consideration, artistic elements including posing, choice of background/environment, and meeting customer expectations by understanding the purpose of the image and effectively conveying that purpose visually.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
When someone looks at the image you're planning, what do you want the viewer to see/understand?
How and where will the image be displayed and in what medium (print, digital projection, etc,)?
After imagining the perfect image, start from scratch and come up with an entirely new idea. What new elements have you added, and let's collaborate on something unique. Then return to the first concept- which is better? Be creative!
