What do you love most about your job?
Forming connections with each student, and being able to develop a unique bond with them as individuals, rather than as one face in a sea of many.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I am not the owner of Tailored Teaching, but after completing an internship with the company I was inspired to come on-board as a staff member after seeing how meaningful it can be for each student to have their learning needs met in such a caring and specialized way.
Why should our clients choose you?
I have a solid success rate with students, including those with learning conditions. My students enjoy their sessions, developing a motivation for learning and personal confidence that they take forward with them to their future studies. I am communicative with families, who are able to contact me to discuss their child's learning at any time. Families are provided with a written summary of each session, including clear instructions for practice. I teach with a breadth of knowledge supported by mentors, and use up-to-date, research driven teaching techniques.

Currently I only offer my services virtually, which allows for more flexible scheduling opportunities and opens my services to students who are not in the same geographic region as me.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
All tutoring is done online, meaning there is no face-to-face risk factor.
Online Tutoring (Virtual)
A 60 minute personal tutoring session that targets your child's learning needs.
A written summary is provided that explains what your child did during the session, how the session went, and provides practice work for the coming week.
Practice materials are included.
Parents are welcome to call or email to discuss their child's learning at any time.
An online (virtual) tutoring session costs $60.
Academic Assessment
An academic assessment provides families with detailed information on their child's skills, knowledge and understanding for a curriculum area. I provide assessments for English Language Arts (Reading, Writing and Spelling).
The assessment takes approximately one hour, and currently is only available virtually. Following analysis of the results, a written report of approximately 3-4 pages is provided to parents. The report states and discusses the student's strengths in that curriculum area, and pinpoints areas for growth.
Assessments also inform each family's decision on whether to commence tutoring. If they decide to proceed, the assessment then informs the approach, content and methods that are used. This ensures that the tutoring targets your child's personal needs.
The cost for an assessment is $90.
College Admissions Preparation (virtual)
For students who plan to pursue higher education, it can be beneficial to have one-to-two sessions dedicated to crafting, revising, and editing their application materials. This session is one hour, and can either serve as a stand-alone session, or work in conjunction with regular tutoring. Students may benefit from support crafting and editing their personal essays, responding to short-answer prompts from select universities, creating their resume, crafting their artistic portfolio, or applying for scholarships. Please note that this service intends to polish and refine written elements of the college admission process, and is not a formal college counseling session. The cost of a college admission prep session is $65.
