What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Connection! Intention! But most importantly, the secret sauce of balancing light and shadows — quite literally the definition of “photography” from its Latin origins. I have a gift for “seeing the light”, and after a decade behind the lens, knowing exactly how to be intentional with my camera makes every image a GREAT image!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Whether it is a wedding, a corporate event, a proposal or other photographic event, there are a few key things I’ll always need to know:
WHAT: what event am I photographing? Why is it significant? Is it time-sensitive?
WHO: who am I photographing? how many people will be photographed?
WHEN: do you have a specific date for this event, or is it flexible? Is it going to be a single date, or spanning several days? If you’re still in the very beginning stages (especially for weddings) and you do not have a date set yet, please inquire through my website to begin a conversation!
WHERE: where do you need my services? If it’s a wedding or event, please share your venue(s)! If it’s a portrait session, do you have a location in mind or need my suggestions? I do have a studio just outside the metro as well.
BUDGET: what is your desired budget? Depending on the event or portrait session, we may need to get creative to meet your budget versus my general pricing, but a conversation always helps!

What do you love most about your job?
Meeting new people and creating a time capsule for them — photographs hold moments in time for us! Whether it is a once-in-a-lifetime event like a wedding or a proposal, or a thoughtfully planned portrait session, proposal, or branding headshots, every client is special and I love executing their vision to perfection!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I’m from a VERY long line of entrepreneurs — multi-generational business owner in my family. I grew up around small businesses and always knew I wanted to “be my own boss” someday. A decade later, I am STILL obsessed with my job! It also offers me flexibility with my small children and creating a work/life balance that allows me to be present for this stage of their lives. So if I don’t respond to your email at 11pm, or on Sunday afternoon, it’s just family time! I’ll be in touch!
