I met Ms. Hermeisha on a online format for counselors, in which she was seeking support for her own professional development. In doing so, she motivated me to also seek the same insight on a personal/professional level. I felt prompted to review her website in order to better understand how she perceives working with clients. I was amazed at the level of time placed into her skills from the review of the website alone. I am confident that she will make an effort to work with her clients in a healthy manner. I am stating this as a result of her own desire to remain transparent and open among her own colleagues. I always look for a person to show their honest heartbeat when building relationships with professionals. I am pretty sure, the beat of her drum will favor the clients best clinical level of need. As a colleague of Ms. Hermeisha Hopson, I have experienced nothing but kindness, positivity, and the presence of God from her from the time we met “unofficially” in professional forums on FB and officially when we met in town to network. She has inspired me in my journey as a private practitioner in so many ways. Although we all have very busy, hectic schedules, I love that she always gets back to me when I call her. Even if it’s a friendly text with her schedule for the day so that we can arrange a time to talk. She is a great resource and asset to have in my professional network and such a kind spirit to have in my personal circle. I pray that she will keep up the amazing work that God has called her to do! Since battling with Panic attacks and PTSD, I have seen a few military, VA, and civilian mental health providers in the last ten years. The results of those visits were either frustrating or waste of time. The VA just wanted to place me on medication and add to the list every appointment. At Refuge Counseling, she provides a different approach, one that targets the problems, then find ways to lessen or resolve it through a process called EMDR or a suitable therapy. If you are a Veteran, I highly recommend their services. You will not find a more relax, confidential, and comforting environment like Refuge Counseling in Jacksonville, NC.
