What makes a great website?
Any great website will engage the viewer with interesting, and changing content. This can come in the form of blog updates, or from new products, discounts or offers. In other words, a great website gives the viewer a reason to come back to it, time and time again.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Does your business or organization require regular communication with your customers and/or members? Are you looking for just a website, or a more comprehensive marketing package including logo design, business card printing, newsletter integration, and email management?
Describe your creative process.
I start with colors and textures with the input of the client. If logo design is needed, all that is done before the website is started, or before any printing work can be done. For future use, all logos will be color corrected to work well in either print or screen applications. The general look of the site is designed, again with input of the client, including font styles and color of the heads and body text, and links. Other visual elements may be added to repeat through the site. The content is then uploaded according to a pre-determined site outline. The client must provide the bulk of the written content, and we will assist in polishing your text as well as conforming it to SEO requirements. We can provide stock images to visually enhance your content as well. Photographs from the client are always welcome in this process.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Besides input on design preferences and the general content of the site, it is important to know how the site will be ultimately used. This is so the right features and customizations are added to fulfill it’s main purpose.
