When not on the road playing drums for Texas legend Pat Green, Michael Kelton loves to entertain crowds with country music sing alongs, and weave road-worn story telling with original songwriting in the true Texas troubadour fashion. Michael can provide anywhere from a solo acoustic performance, up to lively trio performance with Lone Star Gentry, featuring the acoustic guitar, fiddle, dobro, and harmony vocals.

Perfect...couldn't have been better! I'm the mother of the groom. The welcome party was near Fredericksburg, TX the evening before the wedding. It was outdoors. I hired Michael Kelton to perform for 3 hours and to also bring another musician. So, we had an acoustic duo. Guests of all ages enjoyed GREAT music, danced if they wanted, and we could still hear conversations. Michael played guitar and Keith Davis joined him on dobro and vocal harmonies. Michael arrived early, brought everything they needed, and handled the set-up without assistance. He was an excellent communicator and very professional throughout the process...made it so easy! What do you love most about your job?
The opportunity to connect with people through music is by far my favorite part of this job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My father provided for our family as a musician and co-founder of Texas show band Johnny Dee & the Rockett 88’s. Watching him connect with and entertain crowds of strangers while traveling the world with his best friends left quite an impression on a budding musician. I don’t know that I saw any other career path as an option from an early age.
Why should our clients choose you?
I played my first paid gig at the age of 10, and have since performed on three continents and averaged 120 shows a year since I was old enough to hit the road. From intimate listening rooms to stadiums, backyard birthdays to international festivals, I’ve done it all. I’ve clocked millions of miles gaining the skill and experience I bring to each performance.

A duo acoustic performance builds on the solo performance with musical acompaniment and vocal harmony. Depending on availability acompaniment may be fiddle, dobro, mandolin, acoustic guitar, or electric guitar.

Lone Star Gentry brings country hits to live through a folk/bluegrass instrumentation featuring the acoustic guitar, fiddle, dobro, and harmony vocals that is elegant yet lively. A previous client summed it up best saying Lone Star Gentry "sounds like Texas."
