Tomás was the amazing pianist assigned for my informal neighborhood holiday party and he gave an amazing performance. He’s a real virtuoso and even played some of my personal favorites like a sea shanty and old English Christmas Carol, we saw three ships. I got married in New Jersey in October 2024. The band were superb. Nothing was too much trouble - from managing the MC responsibilities, hyping up the crowd/guests, and even playing special requests (including the best rendition of "Down Under" I've ever heard . .. this says a lot coming from an Australian!) Great musicians and wonderful energy. I had at least 15 guests contact me since the wedding to tell me just how much they loved the music, and what it did for the energy around the evening. We could not have been happier with LPE for our wedding! Organising a wedding from overseas was very difficult at times but Louis and his team were such easy vendors to work with and made the planning process seamless and enjoyable. My husband and I opted for the seven piece band, which included a cello/piano for our ceremony and three-piece Jazz trio for the cocktail hour - which were all incredible. The band offered to learn a few new songs for us - the main one being Land Down Under (as we live in Australia) and they pulled it off so well.. the crowd actually went wild! LPE's Intrinsic Groove was spectacular. Their sound was great! Full, balanced, tight. Every performer was incredibly talented. We were blown away by their sound and their ability to learn the songs we requested, which included an original piece for cello and piano that the groom arranged for the ceremony. Every one of our guests had high praise for the musicians in all 3 of their performances throughout the night. Louis and the band made special accommodations to allow the groom to play with his band at one point during the night, which was a highlight for many of the guests. And it happened because they were willing to work with us to MAKE it happen, which many other weddings bands were not. We would absolutely hire them again for another event, and encourage anyone looking to liven up their wedding or event to do so as well! The music was beautiful and the musicians very professional for the ceremony. We highly recommend them. For our cocktail hour, they quickly moved to another room in the venue and we added a saxophone player and bass player. We had so many complements on the perfect mood music. We hired LPE StarSign for a corporate conference in Colorado Springs. We wanted to make our evening reception fun for our physician and healthcare executive attendees. LPE StarSign was AMAZING. Louis and his team were great to work with leading up to the conference and during the event. From the moment they started their sound check, even the staff setting up were commenting on how good they sounded. The band chose songs perfectly - starting out a little more low key as people arrived and ate, and then ramping up the energy later in the night. My husband wanted a DJ to save on budget, but I was set on booking a live band. After checking out a few of LPE's samples online, I knew LPE was the right band for us. We booked two vocalists, including Dillon, who truly brought the energy and sound we wanted for our wedding. Our wedding guests had nothing but positive things to say about the music. From ceremony, to cocktail hour and reception -- the music was on point. I will add that Louis has a lot of experience and can help couples decide on the right band and equipment needs given their venue space and size of event. After booking, we did inquire about specific songs that could be played live. Louis was honest/transparent about the fact that our specific requests would cost an extra fee for the time it would take his muscians to learn. While we didnt end up getting custom music, I'm sure it would have been spectacular for those wishing to go that route. Dillon, our lead male vocalist and emcee, was fantastic as well. He would frequently check in with us to ensure timing and announcements were to our expectations. We really do appreciate Louis recommending Dillon during booking because Dillon made our wedding that much more memorable. While there were a few planning/coordination details we could have improved on and worked out ahead of time, Louis and his team made themselves available at moment's request to help us get things sorted. We are grateful for their responsiveness and dedication to making our wedding day perfect and would highly recommend them to any couple looking for top-notch entertainment for their special day. Louis was professional and responsive from the second we were connected. The ease of doing business with them has value in itself. We originally were contacted with a local band in Whitefish MT that backed out. Louis really saved the day with LPE StarSign. They did great from MCing the event, setting up and are truly an incredible band. We could not have had a better experience on the dancefloor. (Yes they will play Freebird). I wanted to do a Roaring Twenties theme for my wedding and Louis did a great job of accommodating my very specific request. The band arrived in period appropriate attire and blew me away with their amazing performance. The singer Karlea is nothing short of phenomenal and kept our guests engaged all night. The musicians are top notch professionals. Their interpretation of the jazz pop standards I sent to Louis was fantastic. They were courteous and even gave us a private dance to At Last (outstanding version!) when our very exhausted guests left for the evening. Additionally, the violinist for our ceremony was unable to make it and a cellist was sent instead. David did a wonderful job! I loved their version of Claire de Lune and Y'did Nefesh. All of the musicians are professionals with a passion for jazz. I wanted to do a Twenties/Gatsby theme for my wedding and they were very accommodating for my very specific niche request. They even came in period attire. In addition to being exceptionally talented and accommodating the band members were courteous and flexible. They allowed us a private dance at the end of the night when all of our guests left for the evening. The singer Karlea was a pro with an amazing voice and really made the night special. As some of the other negative reviews have mentioned, the owner Louis makes the booking process easy, but has an extremely defensive demeanor towards anything that goes wrong. I would say that when you hire a big corporate company like this who contracts out local musicians, the outcome is usually as good as the musicians you get assigned (which, by the way, you can't choose and just have to take the owner Louis's words for it), but it also gets as bad as the management that is behind the booking process. We had a very upscale venue open house event and demanded all vendors to dress in light-colored formal attires - we sent multiple emails regarding this request, including the day before the event, to make sure everyone is on the same page as aesthetics are extremely important to this event. Not only did Louis not communicate this important detail to the musician (because we are not allowed to contact the musicians directly), Louis lied to us on the phone about how the musicians must have forgotten but he "told them over the phone". No, both musicians confirmed that there was never any communication from Louis's company regarding attires. Louis was extremely defensive about this on the phone and stressed that if the musicians dressed in "professional" attires, it shouldn't matter too much whether it matched our attire requirement. To provide some context, both musicians show up in casual black attires (black sleeveless tank top & pants) when the entire event is formal attire (suits & floor length gowns) and we specifically stated NO BLACK for everyone. It is not the musician's fault if the owner did not properly communicate, but worst of all is the owner Louis' attitude towards this whole issue and how he fails to take real responsibility for his lack of communication. In contrast, the company is extremely vocal when it comes to demanding payment from you. I received 3 emails demanding payment by a certain date, including one that was sent AFTER I've already paid in full. After the payment was settled, there was no further communication regarding anything else we requested (attires etc) and we just assumed they understood everything that was outlined in writing. It really shows how much the company cares other than their bottom line. There were other issues that we discussed such as the musicians taking long pauses between each song. We only hired the string duo for 2 hours and there was already a 15min scheduled break. With all the other pauses they took on chit chatting (~2-3 min between each song), I think we got maybe 1 hr 15min - 30min of play time at the very most. Very disappointed considering we got charged $1000 for 2 people/2 hours and really didn't feel like we got any value. (And the musicians probably didn't even get paid that much after the company's cut). Overall, I acknowledge that accidents and mistakes happen, but it's the owner's attitude that really sets the tone for the business. There was no compensation from the business in any way or form after I voiced all these concerns. I will absolutely not be recommending this company to anyone else, and highly recommend that you do your research and try to hire & support your local musicians directly. More...
