Mike came out last fall to give us a quote on a patio cover. He took his time, listening to our needs and giving us all the options available. We wanted a quote, but weren't ready to get the work yet as still needed to gather the funds together.  Mike was patient. Checking in with us periodically, but never pushy. I was looking to get an awning to cover my deck about 42' by 20'. It's a pretty big job and thought it would take weeks to complete. But Mike and his crew proved me wrong. They got the job done in 2 days and it looks absolutely fantastic. He made sure that the awning was installed securely and was well sealed. They ran wires for 5 lights, 2 ceiling fans, 2 electrical outlets and 2 switches as I requested. I couldn't be happier. The best part about all this was that Mike worked with me on the price and provided the service that other companies would charge way more than what I paid him. Had contacted a few other Patio Cover companies for quotes and what they could do for us and Mike was one of the companies that came out.  His no pressure, professional attitude and overall ease made the difference for us to choose them to do the job.  I liked the design that he came up with and it made more sense the way he did this compared to the other contractors.  When it was time to come do the work,  they came out and built this patio cover in only 1 day...Amazing that they could do it yet it's his experienced team of workers that made it happen.  Mike was always available at a phone call away, responded back promptly and would recommend him and his crew to any and everyone looking for a great price, fantastic product and excellent workmanship.  Kudos to Mike and his staff for a job well done !!! I would give 10 stars if possible!  We were looking for someone to build a patio cover and arbor and my landscape contractor found these guys. Mike came out, came up with a great design and an even better estimate! Last week Mike's team came out, demoed the existing work and constructed our new cover and arbor in 2 days!!  His crew is so professional and quick. We were SUPER happy and extremely satisfied with Mike and his team for building our 2nd floor Patio cover.  This is one of the project that we were thinking and planning to do for almost 7 years. Mike, the owner, is a very knowledgeable and thorough person.  He clearly stated how much and how long and answered all of our very many detailed questions.  He wasn't pushy; he was patient as we decided what we wanted to do. 10 stars, 10 stars, 20 stars! I can't say enough great things about Mike and his workers! I had been getting quotes for Sunrooms that were absolutely absurd, close to the price of a new luxury car. I ama photographer and I needed an outdoor space with a lot of lighting for my clients. After getting the run around with Four Seasons Sunrooms ( dont use them) and playing phone tag with companies that couldn't get their appointments straight, Mike answered his phone right away, and came out within a couple of days to look at our space. We had an existing slab and needed walls and windows. He did a great job of going into detail about how the process works and knew how to get permits, and everything. The other company, wanted to go without a permit and install without approval. This made me feel like they would cut corners in their installation. but Mike did not do that. He didnt charge us triple for the permit and knew the folks at City of Newark and how to get the permit quickly. Once we got our permit in 3 weeks, the rails were installed, then inspected the very next day, and then the entire sunroom was installed in ONE day! This blew me away  because I thought it would take 3-5 days. Mike's crew workd 12-14 hours and completed the job in one day! The electrician did a great job ( other than leaving a some drywall dust all over my shoes) and came back to complete the job rather quickly. All the guys were great with communication and did great work. The studio is going to work perfectly! if you need any sort of Sunroom, outdoor patio or shade, I would highly reccomend using Mike! I had been searching for someone to build a permanent patio cover structure for our home in San Jose for over a year, and was having trouble finding anyone to come look at our patio area and design something 'just right'.  Most places just have you give them some dimensions and order a prefab kit then hire some local contractor to install it.  I wanted more than that.  I also had one 'design/architect' come out but he wanted to build the Taj Mahal to the tune of $40-60K.I found CD&B online.  Their webpage said they did work in San Jose, even though they are based in Concord.  I sent them an email and the owner Mike responded within an hour.  He called and we set up an appointment for a design meeting.  The Meeting:  During the design meeting (all 4 hours of it)  Mike sat and brainstormed with us as we discussed our ideas and concerns.  By the end of the meeting, Mike had designed and engineered exactly what we were after.  We negotiated 'the price'.  He assured us that barring any changes on our part, this was exactly the price we would pay, including permits, materials, electrical, installation - the works.  The price was about double what those pre-fab kits would have cost, but this was not going to be anything like those.The Design:  We went with the 4" thick insulated aluminum sandwich panels projecting 19' from a roof mount, and 19' wide.  All the other systems we had looked at required 4 to 6 posts, which we felt would obstruct the space too much.  Mike's custom design needed just 2 posts (very beefy posts indeed) and the double steel headers to support the width.  We had Mike design in lighting on the posts and 2 ceiling fans.  We added rafter tails to the end and one side.  The structure overlaps our home's roof on 2 sides, so our gutters remained functional.  I still had reservations and concerns - we had just put a new paver patio in, and these guys were going to make a huge hole (about 4' wide) for the footings right in the middle of it.  I wasn't sure how sturdy this structure would be, and how the roof mounts would look.The Build:  To say that CD&B has an experienced crew is an understatement.  These guys have been with Mike for over 20 years.  Bill, our lead for the project, was very polite, professional, and did everything he could to minimize impact on our daily routine during the contruction.  Bill knows what he's doing, and works like a madman.  They set 2 very heavy posts (3/16" thick walled 4" square steel) in 32" cubes of concrete.  That's about 80 bags of concrete.  These posts aren't going ANYWHERE.  They designed the roof mounts just for our roof and had them custom fabricated out of 3/16" steel.  The headers are also heavy steel sheathed with aluminum.  The roof panels are structurally strong, and the guys could walk on top of the structure once it was up.  The electrical went in flawlessly, with a brand new circuit run from the main panel for the structure  Thanh the electrician was most helpful and made sure to ask about exactly what we wanted and where.  The only thing he didn't ask us about was exactly where the fan placement should be, and that's our only complaint.The Result:  We are ecstatic with our patio cover.  It feels like a huge outdoor room.  It protects our patio almost entirely from sun & precipitation.  The pavers were finished off around the posts and the repair is invisible.  The insulated aluminum roof and fans keeps the patio very comfortable on hot days like today.  The structure is almost 10' above the patio which created a very open and airy space.  Having only the 2 posts opened up our patio and it feels much larger than it used to.  As Mike promised, we paid exactly the dollar amount quoted.  All inspections went flawlessly and the finished project was quickly approved by the city.  Total cost:  $12,500 included custom design, fabrication, delivery, installation, permits & inspections, electrical, gutters & downspouts, paver repair.  Only extras were the fans & lights which we purchased on our own.  Money well spent for the best room in our house (even if it's outdoors).Recommendation:  These guys are the real deal. I agree with Linda. Mike & Sandi Nagy have come across the bay several times over the last 15 years to install, update, and fix minor repair issues with wooden and cellular blinds. I have them on every window of my home and their service has always been outstanding. I'm pretty handy around the house, but having them measure, order and install for me was worth paying a little extra.
