Karl’s response to my family photo shoot started with professionalism from the very beginning. He replied with a phone message, so I was able to hear his voice and he explained thoroughly his understanding of my request and confidently agreed to complete it with pleasure. He was extremely responsive to subsequent follow up communications and was very flexible with any changes we had. I ended up changing the day and location and Karl was again very kind and understanding. On the day of the shoot, he communicated clearly his location and time of arrival and made me feel at ease. During the photo shoot he picked a perfect location based on the sunlight and showed us how the pictures were turning out. He had great ideas for poses for my teenage kids, and made them laugh and smile, which I thought would be impossible to achieve! Overall, he made everyone feel like we were in good hands and that made the experience even more memorable. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
It’s all in the lighting. Plus, your subject has to be at ease. Photos are fun. Express that.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What’s important to you? Would you like to direct me or would you like me to direct you? Do you know what you want or would you rather me show you what you may want?
What do you love most about your job?
In a past life, I was a computer network . I have invested well over the years with real estate, stocks, and bitcoin. I do not have to work, though because I’m still young at 55 years old, I would rather take photos for free rather than retire.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Certain professions such as a plumber, electrician or a photographer have to be a business where the owner is in charge. Working as a photographer for someone else doesn’t work because then you’re just working for a pay
Why should our clients choose you?
I have been a photographer since the days of film in 1998. I’ve taken over 1 million photographs specifically of people I have photographed on seven continents. There’s very rarely a situation that I don’t have an answer for.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Photographs need to be taken in person. So taking photographs online doesn’t make sense. Since we are talking about photography, this question does not apply.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
If clients would like me to use an N 95 mask, I have no problem doing so. We must all be safe and feel comfortable when working together.
