What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Making people comfortable! Despite having our picture taken extremely often by someone holding our phones, most people are not comfortable taking professional photos because they do not know the person who is taking the picture. It's significantly harder to relax and be yourself in that setting. I have found it easy to enable the person who is awkward and uncomfortable and transform them into the relaxed, confident, great looking person they already are!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What is the purpose of the photos you'd like to take? Is it for an online headshot that communicates authority or approachability at your business? I know how to pose you for that. Is the end goal for your photo to be printed and be the center of attention in any given room in your house? Then let's create the perfect shot for that.
What do you love most about your job?
I find much joy in enabling people to accomplish their goals. Families want happy moments of themselves, and it's hard to do that without a professional. Couples getting married want to enjoy the moment and have those moments captured. I can do that.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I learned that cameras were a way to help others, whether that be businesses, weddings, family portraits, dating portraits, or headshots. We all, at some point in our lives, actually need photos.
Why should our clients choose you?
Because most people do not know how to pose in front of a camera, and most people are uncomfortable. Many photographers can take good photos, technically speaking. But not every photographer is able to make the subject relaxed, confident--not every photographer can make it look like their subject was BORN to be photographed. I can.
