A great website needs to be a balance of clean and crisp, visually appealing, easy to navigate, robust enough to give visitors the information they need, and built with SEO/Marketability in mind. We often come across sites that are sleek and beautiful, but they're horrible to try to market. On the flip side, we've seen sites just crammed with content and keywords that help them rank, but they're difficult to navigate and look cluttered. The best sites manage to thread the needle between the two.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
We like to know all about your business - what makes it unique, how do you represent it to customers, what's your voice/style, etc. - as well as your customers. There's a huge difference to the way our team would approach a project for a roofing business, for example, as opposed to a project for an attorney. Knowing who you are and what you need helps us to do the best job possible.
What do you love most about your job?
The best part of what we do is helping small and medium-sized local businesses grow, because each one of them is a person from our community. We take pride in empowering the local, little guys because that's who we are and who we believe in. We don't really want to help the CEO of some major company buy another jet - we want to help the local contractor send his kids to summer camp. That's way more rewarding for us.
