Here at Fireside, we believe that a trained dog is a safe dog. Despite what we may want to believe, dogs are not always the cute and cuddly “fur babies” many make them out to be. They are still animals, after all. If they feel threatened, nervous or anxious, dogs will sometimes react and lash out at another dog, a visitor, or even their owner.

We had our first boarding experience this year as a family. Our 2 dogs boarded together. For the cost of them we were disappointed because one came home with a broken nail that required anesthesia and wrapping to fix. Both came home smelling like they had to sleep in poop. We had to give them emergency baths as soon as we got back from our trip which wasn’t ideal. For the cost it is disappointing that they don’t try to offer that service for boarding. We might try again but are unsure due to the cost and how it went the first time. More...

We had an amazing experience with Fireside’s stay and train program. We did the “off leash” training program as we live in the county and do not have an enclosure for our pup to run, just 6 acres to explore. They treated Luna so very well, and sent updates throughout her stay. After she graduated from the program, we met at the lodge for a 1 on 1 session to help us understand the commands they taught her. They made sure that we were comfortable with all of the commands and techniques that they used, so we were able to be successful for the transition home. Luna has always been a smart and amazing pup, but now she is able to resist distractions, follow commands, and much less resistant to direction/redirection. I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Fireside’s stay and train program. I went to them during a really difficult time with my two dogs and they were amazing. My dogs and I learned so much; I don’t know who got trained more, me or my dogs. Just tried out their sensitive skin grooming option for him as well and he looks and smells great, with no scratching or irritation. Loki is a 130lbs Shiloh Shepard btw and the groomers did a fabulous job brushing his fangs and trimming his claws too. We will definitely be bringing Loki back! More...

Our Golden Retriever Waylon got a much needed grooming today and we are VERY impressed! Zeus had some much needed pamper time at Fireside Pet Lodge today. After being stuck inside the last couple of days with the cold, he got to go to day camp and receive a groom and blueberry facial. This was after lots of playtime and a nap. It is very reassuring when we bring Zeus to Fireside. When we arrive they greet him by name and have his sheet with his likes and dislikes(dislikes peanut butter so cream cheese Kong for him). Throughout the day the staff takes time to give us a quick update on how he is doing. He was dropped off at 8am today and I got messages like, “Zeus just got breakfast and is settling in” and “Zeus just got done with play time and is taking a nap before grooming”. I love that they take the time to send updates. We also were very appreciative that since our plans changed last minute, Fireside was able to get him in last minute. We started bringing our Golden doodle to fireside the first month they opened. Adam recommended we bring him monthly to avoid matting and to get a 20% discount- which was awesome. A couple months in they discontinued this service without communicating to their regular customers. Additionally, they increased their prices without mentioning anything. We would ask if the 20% discount is applied and they would say “yes, it’s applied”. Our mistake for trusting them and not double checking everything. The next time we came in we asked again and at that point he said it was now only a $10 discount. At $100/month the least they could do was be upfront and honest with us. Dog Training
2- or 4- week Stay & Train obedience training and common manners.
2-week stay will cover on-leash obedience
4-week stay will include on and off-leash obedience work with collar conditioning.
In both Stay & Train options, you leave with multiple tools and personal time working with a trainer and your dog to achieve your specific goals.
