Matteo was great … we left our Bernadoodle, Buddy, with him for 3 weeks … initially is was just to board him, but after meeting Matteo we quickly changed our approach to training along with boarding … our dog loved Matteo … Matteo sent us videos of him and Buddy training and playing … Matteo trained Buddy for 3 weeks and then gave us a roadmap to follow in continuing that training … I so highly recommend Matteo

We had such a wonderful experience with Matteo at Dogs and Stripes! From the very beginning, he was incredibly structured, patient, and kind — you can truly tell how much he cares about the dogs he works with. He treated our dog like family the entire time, which gave us so much peace of mind.

Our dog used to be very scared of other dogs, and Matteo did an amazing job socializing him at a pace that felt safe and positive. The progress we’ve seen has been incredible — he’s more confident, calmer around other dogs, and now actually comes back when we call him, which felt impossible before!

My initial hesitation was wiped away after speaking with, then meeting Matteo. He has a way of putting you at ease and answering all questions you have, no matter how silly they may seem to you. When I tell you he LOVES what he does, I mean it. You can see it in every interaction with every dog he is around.
I never thought I would make it through the 3 weeks without driving to pick my baby up but he was in constant communication and sent videos daily of her progress! I could truly see the changes in her, but I still wanted her home lol!!

ery pleased! We recently boarded our 3 year old frenchie for a long weekend with Dogs and Stripes, and were impressed by Matteo and his compound. Not only does he board, but he is a trainer and a licensed animal medic. You can tell he genuinely loves animals ~ they are all over his growing compound! I was a little reserved first coming to Matteo only because I have only boarded my frenchie with one another boarder since he was a puppy, but he recently sold his place and moved north. After our puppy (a mini-golden doodle) arrived, I contacted several trainers & training companies. Most of theses companies were relatively high pressure sales tactics. Not with Dogs & Striped. Matteo (the owner) was very relaxed and was more concerned with answering my questions as well as explaining his training philosophy.

Matteo explained his love of dogs and life long professional experience and how it influenced his training. He did not disappoint!

We were initially anxious about taking a family trip because we didn’t have a trusted place for our energetic Boxer. Then we found Matteo.
Matteo is truly passionate about dogs and deeply committed to their wellbeing. His facility is everything you could hope for—plenty of space to run and explore, along with endless love and cuddles. Communication was excellent; Matteo regularly sent updates and videos, which gave us complete peace of mind.

I cannot say enough good things about Matteo! From the very first call, he immediately made us feel at home and comfortable with the entire process. He is professional, knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain everything clearly while sharing all of his credentials. Trusting someone with our dogs is no small thing, but Matteo gave us complete peace of mind. From the moment he met Zoey (our German Shepherd) we could see how naturally she trusted him, something that is not easy for her as a rescue with anxiety and reactivity issues. I can’t recommend Dogs and Stripes K9 Training and Boarding enough! My golden doodle puppy, Bhodi, just finished a two-week intensive training program and the results have been incredible. Before training, Bhodi was full of energy but struggled with listening, leash manners, and basic commands. Now, he’s so much more focused, obedient, and confident—while still keeping his sweet, playful personality.

Matteo the trainer was professional, patient, and clearly passionate about what he does. He took the time to explain Bhodi’s progress, gave my family and I clear instructions on how to continue his training at home, and made sure we felt supported every step of the way. He sent us frequent videos of Bhodi progress and even brought us Bhodi back with a bath, extra food and toys!

We’re beyond grateful for the transformation we’ve seen in just two weeks. Bhodi is happier, and we’re building such a better relationship thanks to this training. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Matt and the work he did with our dog, Leo! From the very first moment, it was clear that Matt has not only deep expertise in training but also an incredible gift for connecting with dogs on a personal level. After seeing how well trained my son’s dog is, I knew without a doubt who to hire to train my dog. I conveniently coordinated with Matteo for a time that I would be on vacation which worked out perfectly. I came home to a well behaved dog and have not had any issues as of yet. I was sent videos on a regular basis and was kept in communication the whole time. When it was time to get my dog, Matteo showed me some training cues and we discussed the collar and leash, which helps to continue with the right commands. My dog is chill, he comes when he is called, sits and lies down on command. He even received treats and toys to go home with, which was a sweet gesture. Best thing I did for my dog. My dog suffers from aggressive anxiety and having her here for 2 weeks has made a massive difference in her behavior and she is more calm now then previously. I have to admit I went into this adventure a little skeptical but as soon as I spoke with Matteo on the phone, I got the feeling he was going to transform my beautiful 10 month young Dutchie into an obedient young lady. Matteo is very compassionate, dedicated, genuine and honest man and he treated Ruby as if she was his own. I received daily updates and could consult with him as many times as I wanted, he always answered back right away and even called several times just to keep me calm and reassure me that Ruby was doing great (I was having separation anxiety while Ruby was living her best life and learning her basic commands). Signing Ruby up for 3 weeks of basic commands and obedience training with Matteo at Dogs and Stripes K9 training was the best decision ever! To say Matteo and his training knowledge and methods exceeded my expectations doesn’t do it justice. Ruby is an extremely stubborn (and smart) Dutch Sheppard and to see her do all the basic commands on cue is a testament to Matteo’s devotion to his trade and his dogs. Yes, his dogs, because he automatically becomes Uncle Matt and part of the pack. Thank you Matteo for teaching Ruby and I the basics to keep her safe and happy. Dogs and stripes canine training deserves six stars if I could. Mateo was super communicative and supportive through the process of getting my dog into board and training. I did extensive research an interview interviews with multiple companies and I’m so happy that I decided to go with Mateo. The training really shows after a month being home with my dog, she is so much less anxious and well behaved and listens to commands like never before. I was able to train with her and see her while she was away, which really helped hone in the training. My dog returned back home. I’ll be forever grateful for dogs and stripes and so will my dog. I did a lot of research before deciding where to send my four-year-old pitbull for training and Matteo was the best decision I made for me and my dog. He treated her like she was his own pet and really helped with a lot of the training and aggression issues that I wanted to focus on. Talie has been back home for a month now and is a whole new dog who is much more obedient and patient and less anxious than she was before. Matteo is amazing, he is super duper communicative and kind. To be completely honest I found him online and had a gut feeling about him being great. After he called me and spent 35 minutes just explaining to me what he suggested and what he can do/will do, it was obvious that he was a genuine person who loves dogs and has plenty of experience. Highly suggest to use him if you’re looking for boarding/training. I have a 16 week old golden that just finished 1 week of boarding/training, he was extremely loving and caring with her too!
