This DJ was a last minute fill in for my other DJ that canceled the day before my wedding. My original DJ set us up with him and I was not disappointed.

We had an excellent time, and he did a wonderful job especially on a single days notice. We really enjoyed our experience, and if I needed another DJ in the future I know where to go!

I hired DJ Davey for a Karaoke party. He arrived early to the event, was set-up prior to the start time and was ready to go prior to people arriving. He was very professional and engaged with people in attendance. He knows how to read the room which is important for an event. DJ Davey Boy Wonder has DJ’d two events for my family;

1.). My sister-in-law’s baby shower
2.). My cousin’s birthday party

Both events had a stellar vibe and the music selection was so on point, he ended up DJ’ing for longer than the time limit for both events because people did not want to go home.

DJ Davey Boy Wonder has a keen ear with respect to reading his audience and what kind of music they’ll appreciate. For both events, he did a phenomenal job and I highly recommend him.

This will be my final correspondence regarding the recent event for which you provided your DJ services.

On three separate occasions, three different individuals, including myself, approached you to request changes in the music selection. Unfortunately, these requests were purposefully ignored, and your response was “who's paying me?”

As the host of the event, I took the initiative to provide you with your final payment, after which you promptly adjusted the music. It would have been more appropriate for you to communicate that you had not yet received your final payment.

Furthermore, I wish to clarify that the event was not intended to be a dinner party. While food was indeed provided, the event was not marketed as such. Your assumption and subsequent treatment of it as a dinner party due to payment delays created an unwelcoming atmosphere that was unprofessional.

In addition, the request for song titles and authors in the email you sent was unnecessary. As the hired DJ, your expertise in creating playlists is expected, and it is not the responsibility of the host to provide such details. Alternative music streaming services like Apple Music or Pandora could have been utilized if playlist creation was a concern.

I recommend addressing any discrepancies or misunderstandings with clients professionally, rather than resorting to passive-aggressive behavior. Instead of purposely sabotaging an event, you could have simply said, “I haven’t received my final payment, would you mind paying me?” It's a simple and professional approach.

Lastly, I must mention that although we made eye contact when you left the event, I did not approach you to express appreciation. My primary feeling at that moment was relief, and I believe in honesty, so I refrained from saying anything that did not align with my true sentiments. More...

I engaged the services of a DJ Davey Boy Wonder for a recent birthday celebration, and regrettably, the overall experience was very underwhelming. From the outset, there was a noticeable lack of enthusiasm, bordering on disinterest.

The musical selection consisted primarily of slow R&B until 11 pm, creating a subdued ambiance more fitting for a formal dinner rather than a celebratory event. The guests quickly became disengaged and began requesting a change in the music selection.

The playlist lacked diversity, and the DJ made minimal effort to engage with the audience. Surprisingly, he seldom used the microphone throughout the event. I had expected the DJ to craft an engaging atmosphere and motivate guests to hit the dance floor, but this did not happen until 11 pm, when the party was nearing its end.

Moreover, I noticed a lack of professionalism and direct communication displayed by the DJ. Instead of articulating dissatisfaction or attempting to resolve any misunderstandings, he made snide remarks and appeared confrontational.

The decision to hire this DJ proved to be unsatisfactory and not worth the price. Even though he was keen to remind me that he had been in the industry for a long.
A similar ambiance could have been achieved by simply playing music from Pandora or Apple Music. I would have preferred a DJ who could inject energy and excitement into the event while handling any issues with poise, professionalism, and tact. More...

Dianna, there are a few key points that you chose to leave out in your review of the evening. To start, a playlist was requested and what I played to start the event was catered around what you provided. The event was a 60th birthday party and the majority of people there were around that age. The music selection was catered toward the guests there as well. Secondly, dinner for the event didn’t start until 10:30pm for an event that began at 8pm. I was told that dinner was supposed to start at 9pm however, the dinner was delayed for additional guests to arrive. There was never a lack of interest or enthuasiam, only a concern for a start time for dinner. When dinner stopped and the party began, I was asked to cut the music three times to allow guests to speak and for the picture presentation. Even with the delays and the stops during the party, I engaged the crowd to dance with your mother. Not to mention, I stayed an additional 20 minutes over because people were enjoying the party. When the party ended, several of your guests told me that they enjoyed themselves including you. We only spoke one time that evening in regards to the music and when you asked to play change the vibe, it happened. I am not sure where the communication when with the music went wrong.

DJ Davey Boy Wonder was awesome! We first heard him spin at a local kitchen and hired him for a private event and he was fire! Went back to that kitchen but it was a different DJ. Trying to book him but the website is down. More...
