Excellent working with Yigel and Better Together Builders on our kitchen remodel. The team had very good communication, and were very responsive when we wanted to make additional upgrades from the original ask. The team worked quickly and were great with communicating timelines, updates, and potential issues such as structural needs and materials. The project was finished on time and pricing was competitive. Its important to note, we got 5 quotes, and some of the other contractors were pushing for us to do more, make the project bigger, upgrade electrical despite it being up to code and not needed. Yigel was honest from the beginning, pointed out the things we need and don't need, explained risks and insurance coverages. I recommend and plan on using Better Together Builders again next year, when its time for us to rebuild our deck! More...

We are doing a primary bathroom remodel with Better Together Builders and are very happy so far. It's a major renovation, pulling everything down to the studs and taking over part of an adjacent closet to turn it into a shower. We had a long list of must-haves including large format tile, a freestanding tub, double vanity with ramp sinks, and recessed medicine cabinet. The space has an odd layout, so we had to work around door and window placement. I had a consultation with Ofri from BTB and I really appreciated her vision and her ideas. She got the vibe I was going for immediately and even sat down and worked out a rough computer layout with me. I got 4 bids total, and unlike 2 of the other companies, she didn't lay on the pressure, and she worked with me on ways to keep costs down and still achieve the results I wanted. Once we signed with BTB, she went with me to tile and plumbing stores to find exactly what I wanted. Her relationships were key in getting the perfect tile at an amazing price and sourcing fixtures and finishes. She also set me up with Sam, our awesome project manager. Having a project manager is worth its weight in gold -- it keeps me from feeling like I have to micromanage everything, and if there is ever an issue, I just reach out to Sam and it is handled immediately. Our foreman, Dennis, is the most hardworking, positive guy. He has a very strong work ethic and the skill to back it up. He discovered some very dangerous shortcuts the previous homeowners had taken (including cutting through load-bearing beams) and corrected them. Everything is now done to code (with inspections) and I feel 100% confident in the work. We are nearing the end of our project and I am so excited to get to use my dream bathroom. More...

It was a big project but they did a great job. Ofri in sales was great to work with and Sam the project manager was on top of everything and Fernando and his crew did great work. I appreciated all of the communication (they set up a group text to give frequent updates on the project and address any concerns) and follow-through. I also appreciated that the workers cleaned up the work area every night and cleaned everything up when the project was complete. I would highly recommend them and I would use them again for a future project. More...

I called Better together builders for a consultation. I wanted to do a rather large kitchen remodel. The following day I got a call back and set up a consultation. Nikki, their designer was sent out and I really liked her vibe. She wasn't pushy like the other company that came out previously. We scheduled a second meeting for the following week. I signed and hired the company to start my kitchen remodel. As in many remodels, there are unexpected issues that come up that need to be addressed. Sometimes you may have to go over budget to make things right. I was impressed on demo day that it only took eight hours and three guys working to tear out everything from floor to ceiling. The next day the plumbers came out and they had a lot of work to do because I had to move my washer and dryer out to the garage so it was gonna take a lot of work to do the drains and the water lines. Concrete needed to be cut and earth dug out for the new drain lines. A large pump also needed to be installed. It was a lot of work for the plumbing crew. I let Nick know that it was a big concern of mine not to have a washer and dryer for an extended amount of time. Within two days I was able to use my washer and dryer. Also, my sub panel that was inside the laundry room needed to be moved to a different location outside my house.. This is currently being moved and so far so good. Another day and we should be complete with yhe relocation. We are going to do inspection shortly on the plumbing and electrical. So far the communication has really good and Nick has been great about coming by daily to talk to me about any changes, issues and scheduling. He seems concerned that I am satisfied with the work being done. Nick also speaks to the crews about cleaning up the job by days end. I will be leaving another review at the completion of the remodel. More...

The main people we dealt with at Better Together Builders were Lena in sales and Nik, the project manager. Each of the expert supervisors and crew they brought in to complete the task were strong, polite, clean and hard-working. We had most of our home's floors covered in high quality plank vinyl flooring, two bedrooms carpeted, and quartz kitchen countertops, a new sink etc. installed. Lena is great and gained our confidence in them from the beginning. Whatever she agreed to have the company do she put in writing, and came along with us to Superior Tile in North Hollywood where we purchased the materials. Her advice was friendly, professional, and good solid money-saving suggestions. Nik was attentive and always reachable. He worked constantly to meet our needs and figure out problems. He remained in close contact with each supervisor and often checked in with us or stopped by to see how work was proceeding. Because our home was occupied and full of breakables and thirty years of clutter while raising a family, there were complications beyond reflooring an empty house. However everything went fairly smoothly and we were surprised and appreciated that work was done even on weekends and Thanksgiving day! They laid most of the flooring while we were away for the holiday. Furniture was put back in place and the work seemed to be pretty close to finished when we arrived back home. There were no unwelcome surprises, nor additions to our bill except for our requested additional work of installing a beautiful fireplace mantel with the leftover quartz. What we wish had been better coordinated was the baseboards which delayed the end of the project. All furniture and breakables had to be moved three times! First for the floor and carpet installation. Several days later this had to be repeated for the baseboard installation and then a third time, about a week later for their painting. They were super about moving the furniture but we were appropriately responsible for moving the breakables and this required a lot of ongoing work. If the process could have had fewer steps and less repetitive moving it would have been our preference. Because the crew was gone and a single workman did all the baseboard installation, then later the painting (excellently by the way) and had to do most of the furniture moving by himself, the process took longer than expected. This was disruptive and difficult for us and when we were informed the job couldn't be finished until another week later we objected and happily negotiated to have him return the following day. All's well that ends well and our home looks amazing! More...

We've used Better Together Builders twice now. The first time was in 2021 under the direction of Ido. The price was a little high, but we were doing a lot of work and had a tight time frame. Ido came through and the work was done when needed and it all looked great. The second time was this past year. The work started in late august and was supposed to only take a month and a half. Honestly, it was a mess. We did not have Ido this time and I felt like I became the project manager. Every day I was out there reiterating what was supposed to be done and pointing out problems with their work. I was regularly told "no problem, we'll take care of it" and then nothing was done. Finally we went over the assigned PM and complained. We should have done this sooner. Sam was assigned and she really corrected the engagement. A company that let this work get so bad shouldn't get 5 stars, but one that admits their mistakes and corrects them (at no extra charge other than possibly the cost of my sanity) deserves to be acknowledged. Once Sam got on board, she not only listened to my complaints about the mistakes, but had a similar strict eye, identifying things to correct on her own. It didn't happen over night (the entire project was almost 4 months in the end), but she got all corrected and looking as I had hoped/expected. More...

We reached out to Better Together Builders to assist us with potentially remodeling a couple of restrooms in our church's basement. From day 1 they (specifically Ofri) were responsive, professional, and honest. It really felt like a potential partnership. After soliciting other quotes, we decided to move forward with Better Together. To highlight the level of honesty and transparency, just before starting work, we had one final walkthrough with the crew and even the general manager. During the walkthrough it was noted that there would more than likely be some issues with passing inspection due to the age of the building and they way things are currently constructed. This obviously would increase our planned budget significantly. Rather than start the work knowing the potential issues and putting the church in a financial bind, Better Together laid out all the scenarios upfront giving us the ability to pause and weigh our options instead of being forced to move forward. I don't know how many other contractors would have taken this approach knowing there would be greater profit due to the change orders that would have been made, but Better Together proved to be an honest and trustworthy company. While we have not moved forward with any work, we wanted to at least highlight the type of company Better Together represents. Based on our experience so far, I would highly recommend. I met with Nikki who was great at answering my questions about everything from cost to timeline, and did a pretty good job of quoting me an estimate close to what we ended up with. Out of all the contractors I met with, Nikki was the only one who asked if she could follow up with me. That meant a lot and sold me on picking BTB as my contractors. I also appreciate that BTB were very transparent with costs and would send me a weekly email on the next weeks schedule and price for everything. But like all renos there are unknowns that affect the cost and timeline, but for the most part BTB met both pretty closely, and I'll admit the added time was due to my addition of a new entertainment system in the ADU that added a few weeks. During the reno I worked closely with project manager Alon, who was incredible. I'm a renovation novice and everyone at BTB was knowledgeable and patient with me through the process and Alon was very hands on, being on site when I needed to talk, or even available by text or phone when he couldn't be on site. Better Together Builders Yelp Review Kitchen cabinet replacement. This is a one-star review not because of the final results, which are good, but because we feel the initial bid was deceptive and misleading. 1. The initial bid did not include costs for countertops or permits. Countertops were included by the other builders we talked to and could have easily been selected and included in this bid by BTB. Because of our interactions with other builders, we didn't realize that even though we were told that BTB could supply the countertops or we could get them someplace else that this would be at an extra cost. If we were told that it wasn't emphasized. 2. At first, we were impressed and reassured that BTB would pull permits, although I wasn't sure it was necessary if we weren't altering electrical or plumbing fixtures and just replacing cabinets. We though it gave us assurance that the work would be done properly. We were told that we would be responsible for paying for the permits. I thought the cost for permits would be trivial but the permits ended up costing over $1800. We weren't given any indication of how much they would cost and think this also was designed to give us a low estimate. I also wonder if permits were pulled to get added charges as we were pushed into code upgrades. If permits were to be pulled and code upgrades possible then our electrical and plumbing systems should have been evaluated and we should have been informed of potential problems. 3. We feel that by excluding countertops and permits that BTB offered us a misleadingly low bid that was not comparable to other builder's bids. If we would have realized how much extra countertops and permits would cost we would have gone with a different bid. 4. Once work started the initial foreman assigned to our project didn't seem to have a complete understanding of the building codes. This led to problems understanding what work needed to be done. His replacement seemed to have a much better knowledge of current building codes and how to get things done. 5. When change orders triggered additional charges there was no transparency as to how the new costs were calculated. We were left wondering if they were reasonable. 6. All but one of the workers who worked on the project did excellent work. Just one who was tasked with reinstalling the sink and appliances didn't seem up to par. This worker didn't seem to know how to install a dishwasher or a microwave. We did finally get those done correctly. 7. The plumbers and electricians who showed up to do the work only spoke Spanish. We do not. This made communication very difficult and stressful. More should have been done to bridge this communication gap. It wasn't fair to us or the workers. More...

In 48 hours, I was going to have my first baby. Unfortunately, I also just discovered a crack in our upstairs bathtub that leaked water damage into the downstairs ceiling. Frantically, I called several companies who might be able to quickly fix the leak so we could return home from the hospital with a safe house and working bathroom. Others were pushy about getting it done fast and cheap, but Idan from Better Together Builders approached the project calmly with a long term and big picture perspective. I appreciated the fact that BTB managed the entire scope of the project, which had expanded to asbestos and mold testing in my 1970s popcorn ceiling. We tested positive for mold, so mold remediation and ceiling repair (including removal of said popcorn ceiling) were added to the replacement of my tub. I am grateful that even though BTB presented the option of a full bathroom renovation, Idan respected the timeline of me trying to return home with our newborn and did not press for more work that would have extended our time away from home. We ended up with a really nice facelift for the bathroom along with some practicals like a new exhaust fan and pendant light. I highly recommend BTB and recommend you ask to work with Sarah and Ava as they have been very helpful in all our interactions with the company. More...

For us, it's a 5-star company, seriously! We hired them last year to turn our backyard into a 400 sq ft ADU. The salesperson who came to provide the estimate was incredibly kind, upfront, and informative. She took the time to explain every detail, making us feel confident with each step in the process--unlike other companies' salespeople who just seemed eager to make a sale. Throughout the project, the organization of the labor team was good, although they did play loud music initially. However, they turned it down as soon as we asked. Besides that, their work exceeded our expectations. They maintained a clean work environment and were always courteous. The project manager and his foreman and the girls at the office were also fantastic. They were very informative and quick to answer any questions we had, keeping us in the loop every step of the way. Although we encountered a small issue with our permit that delayed the process, this was entirely due to the city's regulations. Even after the job was completed, the team ensured everything was done correctly and to our satisfaction. Definitely recommended! More...

HOMEOWNER BEWARE! April 2023 we hired BTB for what should've been a 4-6 week backyard remodel as contracted - demo existing concrete/coping - add pavers throughout - resurface the pool, new coping, gas line and electric line for future spa. We went with BTB on the STRONG recommendation from our real estate agent Alek D (from Douglas Elliman agency.) BTB were more expensive than the other contractors estimates, but we wanted a company that would oversee everything correctly, and do city permits correctly, so we thought we were being wise to pay the extra for this agent recc'd contractor. WHAT A COMPLETE MISTAKE! We 100% regret our decision. They have slick presentations, ads, & wrapped cars, however a contracted "4-6 week project" ended up being 10+ weeks and months longer of trying to get it fixed and still NOT what it was supposed to be. It was an EMOTIONAL NIGHTMARE and completely EXHAUSTING. The "Salesperson/Project Manager" Ava B. clearly knew very little, if anything, about the actual execution of remodeling pools/backyards and was barely ever on site. No one accurately communicated to BTB subcontractors, and workers wouldn't come when scheduled. When they did show up, they rarely knew what they were supposed to be doing, and had to ask us. BTB was always fast to send a runner to PICK UP CHECKS, and send emails saying what we owed, even if that part of the project was not done to satisfaction. When it was obvious at week 3 that the project was being completely mismanaged and that it was going to take WAY longer than the contracted 4-6 week scope, I sent an email to Ava, the main office, and the owner Yaniv, outlining everything that had gone wrong so far and my concerns for completion. I was then assigned a "second in command" project manager Alon. We were assured that everything would be fine now and "don't worry, let us finish" (a favorite phrase of theirs.) However after this meeting nothing changed, we continued to be told "Don't worry, Let us make the mistakes." over and over. The problem with that statement is things were ordered wrong, the workers and subs would have to come back 2-3 times to fix mistakes, poor work, wrong execution, missing parts, faulty plumbing etc. and often their subs wouldn't have the skills to make the corrections or they were done poorly, they'd have to bring their "top" team to try and fix things. Pavers & paver sand were installed improperly - leaving haze, new pool plumbing pipes burst, irrigation pipes were broken, electrics installed wrong, piles of debris were left everywhere for weeks including in the street, improper portopotty placement, and SO many other things were wrong everyday, there's no space to write it all. It didn't feel like ANYONE at BTB had any attention to detail, nor did the project Managers ever inspect the work to make sure it was correct! BTB policy is to send "runners" to take pictures for the managers, these runners knew ZERO about the scope of our project and would often ask US if anyone had come to work that day and what was supposed to be done. Also BTB makes you pay as the various stages are STARTED, not upon completion, so by the time it was clear at week 3 that they were going over the 4-6 weeks, and little was complete or done correctly, firing them and finding some other contractor to complete/ fix the work properly was financially impossible,as the money we had left would not have been enough to complete the job! In the end, after many months and several meetings with Yaniv, we were encouraged to "settle" on an amount to terminate the contract as they were unable/unwilling to re-do all the bad work and we were still very unhappy. Yaniv even admitted in person that they shouldn't have taken this job, and they "learned a lot" on it. The termination document they tried to get us to sign had a GAG ORDER clause that said we were unable to write a review or say anything disparaging about the company if we settled. I didn't know much about contractors, but I did know THAT IS REALLY A BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE if not illegal, I had to point that clause out and refused to sign until they removed that clause, they claimed inclusion was a "request." That aspect alone speaks volumes about this company. We settled for only a few k off the contract, &they're off the hook and now, looking back a few months later (settlement was finally signed March 2024) I'm still so disappointed in BTB and our "dream backyard." Our pavers are still uneven and installed wrong, drains aren't positioned in low parts and drain 'up' to a higher part of the yard, all the poor workmanship, and everything will have to be re-done in a few years at more expense. It was not worth the cost. The only thing done well was the pool water line tile and the pebble (they hired out an actual pool company - Majestic pool plaster) The one star is for the fact that BTB continued talking to us and didn't disappear. STAY AWAY FROM BTB. I have included pictures of the BTB experience. More...

After interviewing several contractors, we hired BTB to remodel our master bathroom, guest bathroom, and laundry room in Encino. Within hours of initially contacting them, BTB sent a project manager, Alon, to our house to generate a quote. From the outset, Alon was very detail oriented, picked up on a couple of issues that other contractors had missed, and sat down with us to come up with a quote on-site. Our initial budget underestimated the costs of the materials we were looking for, but the cost for labor was comparable to other bids we received, so we chose BTB for the project because they seemed the most service-oriented and capable of delivering what we wanted. I'm really glad we did. Office was very responsive, communicative, and organized throughout the project. they helped us work through a couple of issues that arose in renovating a nearly 60-year old house without nickel and diming us. His foreman, Edgar, was very hands-on and helped us settle some design issues, and the entire crew was polite and very respectful of our home (unlike some other subcontractors we've had in the past). Ultimately, despite some setbacks for which BTB was not responsible (e.g., materials delivered broken or late due to coronavirus), the team was able to finish the project within the time we had originally budgeted and we are thrilled with the work. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend BTB (and specifically Alon's team) to anyone considering home renovation in the area. More...

My favorite part of working with Ido is how creative he is. We interviewed multiple contractors after parting ways with the first group, and Ido was the only one who thought of creative ways for us to accomplish our goals. Wanted to write a review for these guys. We worked with Ido mainly and his colleague Isaac and Edgar. We did a huge remodel of our 3200 sq foot home. We redid our kitchen entirely, master bedroom and bath entirely, two kid bathrooms, whole flooring up and down and knocked down a wall to make a sliding door to our back yard. We are new to this and we found such great reviews on Facebook mom group that I gave them my house and they did a great job. I heard such horror stories from my friends and their friends of remodeling and I was so afraid of what could be. BTB did it all On time, was responsive, took responsibility for what they did and if it wasn't done right- they came threw and rectified it. Big next thing- they did what they said they would and with the budget they gave us. As with any remodel - there is always hiccups but overall now being back home for two weeks- we really enjoy our "new" home and was ready to sell it prior to this but now will stay here for more years because it is so nice. They did what they said they would and in the time frame they promised which is big. I learned a lot in this process. Nothing is perfect but overall - they delivered and we are very satisfied and happy with the final product. I do recommend them. So just one advice. It's been 4.5 weeks and nothing related with BTB but one of their vendors- custom cabinetry vendor, his name is Jose. He is realllllllly hard to do any business with. I've been contacting him every week. He doesn't respond. Says he will come and no shows. I have given up. Beyond frustrated with him. BTB is great but do not go with Jose. Use another vendor. It's nearly impossible to contact him or get him to come back to do anything if needed. More...

Awful experience with BTB on kitchen remodel. The only pro was the design process, from there it was down hill. Not quality work or workers. No respect for our home: flooded our bathroom from flushing non-flushable wipe and we had to replace the toilet. Poured paint in our flower pots outside, i could go on. They scratched our newly installed floors and refused to fix. They installed damaged tile on the backsplash and said "that's how the tile is designed" again refused to fix. I really did not want to remodel our kitchen because of contractor horror stories; ours and almost everyone we knew. However our neighbor gave us a tour of her remodeled home and spoke about Build Together Better (BTB) in such glowing terms, my husband and I decided to call them. Aviv arrived at our house on the dot, He was easy-going, respectful and completely professional. He listened carefully to what we wanted, made some recommendations and created a design on his laptop. He explained this was not the final drawing because the Project Manager would have to review and approve it. In the meantime, he would send it to us through email and we could let him know about any changes. He came back a second time because we had changes to the drawing and he brought a contract detailing exactly what BTB would do. He said we would have three days to decide if we wanted to sign it. He never asked us for money or pressured us in any way. Since our kitchen had to be gutted completely, I asked him how long he thought it would take. He said maybe five or six weeks. I laughed but he was serious. He explained we had to do our part; appliances, paint, etc. must be ready and waiting. That made sense and we agreed. After we signed the contract, the General Manager Alon, the Project Manager Moshe and the Foreman Ariel came for the final review. They measured everything and gave us a quote. We had investigated prices and theirs was competitive. We told BTB we did not have unlimited funds and they gave us many excellent suggestions on how to save money with the remodel. In the meantime, Sapphire, the BTB Administrator, created a group text for us in case we had questions and suggested we meet with one of the the cabinetmakers they recommended. Eran, the cabinet maker, was not only a talented designer, but a good listener. He never tried to force his ideas on us but patiently explained the pros and cons of the different designs. He said he liked making sure everything was in writing and we would be satisfied with the result. Eran provided a comprehensive drawing and in the next month, we worked with him to make sure we understood everything he was going to do. When construction began, the workers were on time or early and only left after a full days work. They were courteous and very skilled. More than once, we were amazed at their artistry. They obviously took great pride in their work. They never left a mess if it could be avoided. Unless they were a specialist like a carpenter or electrician, the workers always had a supervisor working with them. Speaking of supervisors, the foreman Ariel was such a delight that we still miss him. BTB also had administrative staff coming by regularly to take pictures, check on the work and ask us if everything was OK. Judging from our friends contractor horror stories, we hit the jackpot in how BTB handled fees. Sapphire sent the invoices through email for us to review and if it was OK, she would have a runner pick up the check. The only time they asked for money was to purchase the materials upfront and after the specific work was done. One time the work was 90% completed and we suggested adding that to our check for materials. BTB refused to accept any money until it was 100% completed and approved. They even credited us for work they did not have to do, even if it was originally in the contract! Everything ran like clockwork with this group; smooth, efficient and on time. If we had any issues, it was resolved promptly. Sapphire was the heart and soul of our project and if she could not answer a question immediately, she would find someone who could. Like any construction, there were a couple of unexpected situations once the walls were open. One had to do with the electrical sub panel. This added several thousand dollars to our project and extended the time maybe a week or so. However, BTB offered us an excellent rate to fix it since this was not in our original contract. In a little less than two months, our kitchen was 100% completed. The cabinets were built like a rock and the quartz countertops were perfect. Our cabinet maker made use of every square inch of space. This may be hard to believe, but we have not yet filled up our shelves. From the drywall to the plumbing to the electrical, everything is 100% perfect and working. When Alon the general manager came to do the final walk-through and pick up the last check, he wanted to make sure that we could call them anytime if anything needed to be fixed. Like everyone else in BTB, he took great pride in their fine work. One of the reasons I am writing such a long review people don't always believe me when I told them what a great experience I had working with BTB. Now they can see precisely what made this "miracle" happen. More...

Better Together Builders present pleasantly and for our large, multi-faceted home project we trusted that they would supervise teams of competent professionals working to industry standards. NOPE! Be informed! BTB are not contractors at all, they are middlemen who contract the work to mostly mediocre (+ a couple of awful) subcontractors, often working beyond their skill level - and the BTB office knows full well who they are sending into your home. The fact that the company tried to persuade us not to leave a negative review should be a red flag to anyone. During our renovations, from the office down, we experienced repeated incompetence, miscommunications, multiple shortcuts, delays, and the use of cheap products. Family and friends watched with us in bewilderment as the project slowly lurched from one fiasco to the next; several subsequent professional contractors have confirmed that the work they are now redoing was substandard. There are too many blunders to list, but for some: The lead electrician often left non-English speaking crew members onsite without supervision - one blew our security system console and another the low voltage panel to the exterior blinds. Several of the new switch plates were not put on straight or were gouged by screwdrivers (photo). The first plumber installed a tankless water heater incorrectly, broke an underground patio drainage pipe, ignored the high water pressure in the house, + left 2 indoor fixtures leaking... this, after he said his work was done (jacuzzi photo)! The second plumber cut a sprinkler line. The demo team that replaced the heater cut a water pipe and left it un-repaired, until we discovered it months later. The drain cleaning team spattered thick mud into the new swimming pool (photo). The HVAC crew wired the house incorrectly (they explained that they had not been informed that they were converting gas units to heat pumps...)! They also squeezed a new heat pump so tightly up against our electric panel that we could no longer access it(photo). The carpet layer turned up 1 hour before our house-movers arrived with our furniture, despite us emphasizing to the project manager weeks before that the carpets needed to be in asap. The carpet layer was as surprised & annoyed as the moving crew & us! We paid hundreds of $ extra to the moving company for their delay that day. A handyman poured leftover cement mix down a patio drain - when I mentioned it, he put the next lot of concrete into 2 flowerbeds where it rests as heavy lumps to this day(photo)! Then we had the locksmith from hell who caused more problems to our front gate than we had before he worked on it(photos) - BTB avoided addressing this gate issue, so we have since had to have the entire gate reworked and broken glass panels replaced again by another company. After just 7 months our brand new '20-year mini-pebble pool lining' was deteriorating: BTB did not want to fix this very costly error, suggesting the cause of the pebble breakdown was 'unknown' and therefore not their responsibility - even though 5 separate contractors have all agreed that it is due to the mini-pebble not being blended sufficiently at installation. Throughout, most finish results are average, but in places some are shameful: our new oven is still anchored by two long, thin screws going into chipboard(photo). Our new shelving is still marked up with pencil and is chipboard quality. Our quality BBQ grill was refurbished by one of BTB's subcontractors, who we recently found out had cut corners - he had mispositioned an inferior quality ignitor mechanism, which completely melted when the grill was next used. Our Project Manager rarely oversaw the work, he appeared at the end of each task to check things over and basically to schedule the ensuing repairs! Most of our communication with him was via WhatsApp texts and photo updates. We started sending him update lists ourselves to try to keep the project on track. They were always playing catch-up (yet sent a runner within 30 minutes when a payment check was due!). We were more than patient, waiting for the project to be finished so we could move on - we felt sorry for the workers who were being sent back again and again and again, unable to do much better than they already had. Let me just say that the painting crew was good - but when we gave BTB this positive feedback, that crew was then used for all sorts of other jobs outside of their professional realm (which they admitted to us) - and those other results were not as good. Our agreed 3-month project dragged on for 16 months but could have been completed a lot more quickly. After voicing strong concerns over the course of a year, the BTB office finally sent in "their best plumber" and "their best electrician", who they "had to pay 10X more".... Even after 16 months the work list was not completed. Everyone remained polite but we were exhausted by their methods and called it a day. Let the photos below speak for themselves. More...
