What do you love most about your job?
At a young age, I knew that I loved listening to people’s stories. This started with my ability to get lost in books, songs, TV shows, and films, and then led to studying theatre. Eventually, I realized how I could combine my passion for stories, the empathy I felt, and the joy I experienced from being a helper – by becoming a therapist.
Why should our clients choose you?
I began providing counseling services in 2009, and earned my doctorate in counseling psychology in 2014. I identify strongly as a BIPOC and LGBTQ+ ally, and I have a special interest in grief therapy, especially the loss of a parent, spouse, or pet/animal family member; life transitions, such as perimenopause/menopause, adjusting to college, a new job, move, or divorce/break-up; and relationship issues, including codependency, boundary setting, parenting an adult child, or estrangement. I am a trauma informed therapist, and, when needed, utilize Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma recovery.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I meet with individuals from my home office via telehealth. I use a confidential and secure platform that is made specifically for doctors and therapists. All you need is a computer/laptop, tablet, or phone with a camera for us to connect. Research on telehealth therapy suggests that it is as effective as in-person therapy, and I have provided therapy via telehealth since 2020.
