Scott was very reliable and I would use his services again. He was particularly prompt when it came to communication, making sure that everything from name pronunciations to the exact duration of a processional song were clear ahead of time so there was no day-of fuss. He also worked with our event coordinator so that everything just ran smoothly and we barely had to think about a thing on the big day itself. The only advice I would give to other couples is not to fill out more than 10-15 song requests on his online portal so that he can select some of his own music and read the crowd. More...

In brief, if you want a DJ to execute your personal wedding vision in a professional manner, look elsewhere. Our guests actually complained about him to the B&G about him during the event. More detail? Read on. Our initial conversation left me with a good impression: All About the Music (AATM) seemed open, flexible, easy going. Not so. Two days before the ceremony the ceremony the DJ sent the groom snarky emails inappropriate for a vendor. He wrote the groom: “just as an fyi I do a much better job, if I am given some flexibility with the music, because I know what works, and what doesn't.” Actually not true in the end. Our coordinator also reported him being uncooperative and rude before and during the event.At the ceremony, our readers were not provided microphones and our officiant hard to hear. AATM botched our simple processional, bridal march, and recessional with poor timing. Ex: There was an awkward pause before the recessional started and the played too low. Not paying attention?He didn’t fair well at the party. AATM turned off the music during our cocktail reception, it was silent for long enough for guests to ask the groom if there was an electrical problem. During the dinner and dancing portion, there were several awkward pauses after announcements; he just wasn’t paying attention I guess. He set up his speakers on top of our oldest guests, which meant that the music was too loud for people eating, but not loud enough on the dance floor. Unless they were direct requests, his music selection often missed the mark. We provided a request list from guests, telling him he should use it to feel out the kind of music we liked. We felt that offered adequate guidelines without limiting him. We also asked him to play alt country and classic rock (two genres that the bride’s father, who recently passed, really loved) but he didn’t really go there. My wife and I put our entire heart and soul into that day. All About the Music had great reviews online and we trusted his professionalism. We were beyond happy with the services that Scott performed! We were looking for someone professional, yet fun. He kept the dance floor moving all night long! It was so important to my husband and I to find someone that can keep the dance floor moving but not be too loud or out there. Scott was awesome on all accounts of his performance. We didn't even know where to begin our search for a DJ when my husband and I started planning our wedding. We found Scott thru theknot, and I am so glad we did!
