I have been using MBG Catering services for several years now and could not be more pleased with both the quality of the food as well as Tara’s consistent level of professionalism. She has catered my large events (75 pple) and even my smaller events (8 pple). I employ her services multiple times a year for bbqs, school events, holidays, birthdays and so much more! Tara goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect and this summer even drove to the Hamptons to deliver food for my event because I simply trusted no one else but her to cater. Used MBG to cater my my mothers 70th birthday party. I didn’t really know what I wanted to order or how much. Tara was very patient and helpful. She helped me to create a menu for the party. On the day of the event, the food was amazing! I had the oxtails, chicken, mac and cheese, empanadas green beans, rice and beans and plantains. All so good. I attempted to work with this business since they are one of the few that cook Belizean food. Literally the hardest thing to find. However I think its ridiculous to charge a $1,500 minimum for catering especially when the owner is not responsive or seemingly friendly to your outreach. When I initially messaged her I never got a response this was on Instagram and her website (months past). I messaged her again on FB and she abruptly informed they only do catering, it took an hour before she responded to my next message and then sent me a menu with no prices..... The food was a 10/10! My Belizean Gourmet catered a dinner at my job and the owner was very accommodating. This was my first experience eating authentic Belizean cuisine and the food was absolutely amazing. I’ve never had potato salad prepared that way and it was so creamy and delicious! Tara helped us select a menu for our daughter's baby shower. She also had us come in and sample her food that was a plus for us. We have used other catering companies that didn't allow us to sample their food. The food was delicious. It was just as good at the event as it was at the tasting. She was on time and professional. I tried this place after seeing their IG page. The food looked amazing so I HAD to try. I was excited to read that they do take out on Thursdays and Fridays! I finally was able to make my way over there today................ Boy did they NOT disappoint! Their food was flavorful and rich ingredients! The mac and cheese was amazing and RICH! My Belizean Gourmet catered my wedding on October 4, 2014. Having the food catered by My Belizean Gourmet was one of the best decision wedding decisions I made. Most places in Teaneck have only caribbean food or only soul food and I wanted to have the both styles of food for my wedding. My Belizean Gourmet fit exactly what I was looking for. From the time I walked through the door I knew that My Belizean Gourmet would be my wedding caterer. Tara is such a sweetheart and was very accommodating even when the guest list went from an estimate of 175 wedding guests to a final count of 259 wedding guests. My wedding menu consisted of stew goat, grilled chicken, barbecue chicken, baked salmon with a thai chili sauce, baked macaroni and cheese, rice and beans, yellow rice, collard greens with smoked turkey, and mixed vegetables. My husband and I had a tasting of the food and everything was immaculate. The grilled chicken, stew goat, and rice and beans had great flavor. In general, I do not like barbecue chicken but even that was really good. The collard greens and mixed vegetables were well-seasoned and the yellow rice was well-cooked.
