I originally met Erin at a fall festival where she shot a cute portrait with my friends and I, and I knew I wanted her to do a shoot with my son and I. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I don't know that there is a single "secret" to taking a great photograph. I really believe that the magic happens when clients relax and enjoy themselves and just enjoy being in that moment in time. Capturing the natural light in the environment is also critical to taking a great photo. Finally, I think it is important to understand my clients and the outcome they are looking for.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What are your goals for the photo session and/or event? What type of photos do you like better: posed or natural? Is there a particular location that you want to use, or would you like me to suggest one? What is your budget?
What do you love most about your job?
I truly love all the amazing people that I get to meet and the special memories that I get to preserve. It makes me crazy happy! I feel completely blessed to do what I love to do. I take my profession seriously, but do my best to make every session fun, unique and memorable! I have been nominated by my amazing clients for Best of the Upstate in both 2015 and 2016 as well as Best of Thumbtack for 2016.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My family. I have photographed my children for years. But when mom is behind the lens.... she's rarely in front of it. When we first moved to the Upstate, a friend took our pictures of my family for a very reasonable cost and gave me some of my most cherished photos. Over the years, friends and family started to tell me that I needed to be taking pictures "for money." I shrugged them off for several years before realizing that I had the opportunity to share the joy that had been given to me in the form of great photos (and more importantly moments preserved forever) at a reasonable cost.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am passionate about what I do, and making sure that clients are thrilled with the finished product is my top priority. Your session or event should be fun, relaxed and creative; but most importantly it should tell your story in your style. I recognize that each of my clients is unique and therefore has a unique goal in mind. I work very hard to make those goals a reality!
