Carlynne is a veteran. She's been perfecting her craft for a really long time and still leaves room to try new things and adjust to meet the unique needs of her clients. During our photo shoot with her she was extremely cognizant of time, knew how to pose us and move things around, capture natural light,Communicate with vendors, and just literally do it all. Event days can be really stressful and she just handled all of that, while not missing a single moment of the special day. She captured human emotion, and the physical space -- which are two totally different types of photography in my opinion -- but she did them both well. While I didn't do the booking for the drag makeover event Carlynne was hired to shoot, I was one of the volunteers to get made over, so she was around a lot with her camera. I'm not much one for being photographed, but not only was she pleasant and friendly, but she was unobtrusive in the best way- not easy in a small room crowded with drag queens and accessories. The event was dark and when I was performing I wasn't holding still, but you can't tell from the photos. I worked with Carlynne when she worked with another photographer. I wrote said photographer an email in frustration with the way business was conducted. I've excluded the portions that weren't about Carlynne: First of all, I wanted to mention how pleased I am with my wedding pictures, and how amazing of a job Carlynne did. She has a fantastic eye for detail, and I am actually sad that we didn't have her shoot our engagement shoot. I would work with her again and again and again. I remembered Carlynne from Bridal Extravaganza and how much I liked her, and after speaking with her over Starbucks, I knew that she understood mine and Kevin's personalities and that she would do a great job shooting our wedding.In the end, as I mentioned, I am quite glad that Carlynne ended up shooting my wedding, and I wish I had thought to select her for the engagement pictures. Actually, initially, when you mentioned your partner, I thought it was Carlynne, and I was kind of halfway excited about that, even though I wanted to shoot with you. If I could give Bergette Photography more than five stars, I would! Carlynne took our wedding photos last December, and both my husband and I adored her! She was so sweet and personable. Our wedding day was freezing cold, but you'd have no idea by looking at our pictures. They were incredible! My husband isn't the biggest fan of having pictures taken, but he was completely comfortable working with her. I love that I get to bring people's vision to life. I create sentimental, beautiful artwork that becomes a part of your family's history. It is a great honor to be able to adorn the walls of my client's homes with my artwork. It's a really unique and special feeling!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I get true joy doing what I do. It only made sense that I should leave the corporate photography world behind and create something truly unique. I have been in business for several years now, and the only thing that changes with time is skill level. I love watching myself get better every time I pick up the camera, and seeing the looks on the faces of my clients when I reveal their images is truly heartwarming. Why wouldn't I want to do this all the time?
