Our music school has been in business since 2004. Our caring, gifted teachers not only hold a college degree in a music related field of study, but our teachers have studied in higher education the instruments they teach! We believe this is critical to the growth of the student and gives the student and customer the most value for their money.
The vast majority of our students will never pursue music professionally, but what we teach them will be with them for life. A typical student will take lessons with us for 2 to 3 years. In that time, we will teach them to play their instrument (or sing better), and we know later in life many of these students will return to this skill whether it's singing with a community choir, playing on a worship team, performing with a community band, or simply playing for family at special occasions. We love that what we teach is a gift for life.
We wanted to be self employed, but we wanted to do more for our neighbors and community than just purchasing a 'widget' for $1 and then selling it for $2. We wanted to impact our community and people's lives.
Besides the fact we love what we do and our teachers care about their students, we are excellent at what we do. Our teachers are highly qualified. Talented and gifted. Active performers themselves. And they have the professional credentials to backup what they teach!
Yes. We can teach online (virtually) via Zoom or similar services.
The first major institution in Indiana to suspend their in person services in 2020 was Indiana University. The very next day we started our first virtual lesson. Within a week 100% of our music lessons were online. When business resumed in person we followed the standard protocols with social distancing, wiping down common services after every single lesson (keys on pianos, doorknobs, etc.), enforced masking, limited lesson rooms to only student and teacher, and we separated student and teacher by 6 feet in every room -- going so far as adding a second piano in every lesson room so teacher and student can use different instruments (for piano lessons).
