Dory The Voice Coach

Because I am a Speech-Voice Pathologist, I am trained in healthy techniques for the voice, speaking as well as singing. I am a classically trained soprano. I love songs from Broadway and enjoy all musical genres. I also enjoy working on diction (articulation-speech sounds), stuttering and language skills. For singing I have studied with Lara Browning Henderson and Martha Howe. I have worked with voiceover actors, musical theater artists, clergy, teachers and public speakers. I enjoy all ages.

What do you love most about your job?

Seeing people make progress and resolving their issues.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I love working with the voice. The voice is fascinating and as a Speech Pathologist I know how important the voice is and how important it is for communication. Also, since I am a singer I appreciate the voice for its ability to sing. I feel like I have unique methods that most singing teachers don’t typically have aimed at developing the voice and am anxious to share those methods. I also can help people speak better whether it be to help with public speaking, speech or stuttering. This inspiration inspired me to start my own business.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am skilled in unique vocal
techniques and exercises that are healthy for the voice for speaking and singing. These exercises can make the speaking voice more resonant and make singing easier.
I’ve had experience with public speakers, Clergy, teachers, voiceover actors and musical theater artists. I’ve had experience teaching English vocabulary and grammar. I did speech therapy with children of all ages for 32 years. I’ve also worked with children and adults who stutter.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes, I can provide services online. I am set up on Zoom. I am also happy to do a consultation on Zoom if you wish.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I am fully vaccinated. I monitor each potential person's health and how they're feeling before each visit. I monitor my health and would not see a client if not feeling well. Due to the nature of my services I would keep a safe distance when working on breathing or speech sounds.
