A little about my background and teaching style: I always knew I wanted to be a pianist. Teaching piano is as natural as breathing to me. I taught my first lesson while studying for my Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance. I was on full scholarship, and graduated with High Honors. Realizing that my real talent was in teaching, I continued on to get my Master’s degree in Teaching Piano, on full music scholarship, and graduated with Highest Honors. My thesis was a book titled “Pathways to Performance: Preparing a Student from 6th Grade to College Auditions.” In the next few years, I was fortunate to teach on the faculty of the University of Texas at El Paso as a piano instructor, teaching beginning to intermediate piano classes. It was during this time that I honed my skills of teaching adult students to read and enjoy piano music. In addition, I continued to teach children in my private studio. Many students came to me at 6 or 7 years old and stayed with me until they graduated from high school, at which time, they were advanced enough to audition to be piano majors in college. Many of my former students are now musicians all over the globe. Those who pursued other careers still love and play the piano! I bring to you a unique ability to teach to your learning style.
