Aimee worked recently with my 15 year old son who is a year round athlete. He had a pulled hamstring from football. After Aimee worked on him, he was happy to say the leg was much stronger, had better range of motion, and felt some pain relief. Aimee made us all comfortable and at ease while she worked with Thomas. I would highly recommend her services.
I have been a therapist/practitioner since 2008 and a massage therapy business owner in Kansas and Missouri for 6+ years. I have specialized in manual lymph drainage for post surgery/injury and autoimmune disorders since 2017. Helping people with their body goals has always been my passion, even if it requires outsourcing a client for what I think they need.

It was my first time having a massage and I really needed one. I have to say, it was exactly as I expected. Jum? has really good hands and she doesn’t put too much pressure on your muscles. She is really a sweet lady and deserves a lot for her hard work. I would definitely recommend her for any massage.

I've had a few massages with them and have loved every single one. Mary Beth was super professional, kind and made me feel comfortable at all times. Another therapist did some cupping on me during a session which I was skeptic about doing but it ended up really helping my upper traps & neck. My most recent massage was with Cynthia who really took her time to target the places that I needed relief from pain in. I was very impressed with each visit and the muscle knowledge each therapist had and also the exercises I was sent home with in order to stay loose. I will be going back for sure!

A warm and welcoming place, this yoga studio is a peaceful and inspiring space. Kathleen and Wade have clearly put their hearts and souls into making Maya Yoga the best possible studio for Kansas City. They are well trained in the practice of Ashtanga as well as up to date on the philosophies and physical effects of the art. An experience at Maya is an experience in dedication and the teachers are devoted to helping their students maintain healthy practices and peaceful lives.
Heather Crouch, the owner is licensed massage therapist. Her private practice is in the heart of Corporate Woods. "Massage therapy is my passion. My goal is to evaluate and find the core/root of the problem in order to alleviate the pain, and to help the body function at its best. I provide a very nurturing and flowing massage. I am here to relieve chronic underlying tension, while also creating a very relaxing and tranquil experience. My goal is to listen and give detail to the exact needs of my clients. Each session is individually designed for the benefit of the client."
I became a believer in the benefits of massage as a client myself over several years of receiving monthly massages. I went to massage school because I wanted to be a part of an industry that was helping people stay healthy and/or deal with chronic pain in a natural way.
Clients typically book from my website. When I meet the client in studio, I typically review the information from the client intake form with the client, discussing their goal for the session and areas of concern. I often ask questions in order to make sure I know what is bothering them so I can strategize how to best address those concerns. I then make sure that the client knows this is their session and I encourage feedback at any time during the massage so that I can meet the client’s goal, whether it be relaxation, or pain relief. I am very specific about the flow of the massage prior to starting a massage with a new client so they know what to expect. I make sure to answer any questions the client may have before we get started as well.
I follow guidelines to make sure everything is clean. I use hospital grade cleaners after each client to make sure room is clean. I wear a mask during entire session. There is only one client allowed at a time in the studio and I have 30 minutes between each session to allow for cleaning.

What types of massages does a Massage Therapist offer?
Swedish massage - This is a gentle type of full body massage that is ideal for people who have a lot of tension, are sensitive touch and are new to massage. It can help to release muscle knots and is a good choice if you want to fully relax during your treatment.
Hot stone massage - Hot stone massage is best for people who have muscle pain and tension or who simply want to relax. The massage therapist uses heated stones in lieu of or in addition to their hands.
Aromatherapy massage - Aromatherapy massages are best for people who want to have an emotional healing component to their massage. Aromatherapy massages combine soft, gentle pressure with the use of essential oils. Essential oils are diluted before being applied to the skin.
Deep tissue massage - Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It is a good option if you have chronic muscle problems such as soreness, injury or imbalance.
Sports massage - Sports massage is a good option if you have a repetitive use injury to a muscle such as what you may get from playing a sport. It’s also a good option if you are prone to injuries because it can be used to help prevent sports injuries.
Trigger point massage - Trigger point massages are best suited for people who have injuries, chronic pain, a specific issue or condition. Sometimes areas of tightness in the muscle tissues, known as trigger points can cause pain in other parts of the body. By focusing on relieving trigger points, this type of massage can reduce pain.
Reflexology - Reflexology is a great option for people who are looking to relax or restore their natural energy levels. It is also a good option if you aren’t comfortable being touched on your entire body. Reflexology uses gentle to firm pressure on different pressure points of feet, hands or ears.
Shiatsu massage - Shiatsu massage is best for people who want to feel relaxed and relieve stress, pain and tension.
Thai massage - Thai massage is best for people who want a more active form of massage and want to reduce and relieve pain and stress.
Prenatal massage - Prenatal massage can be a safe way for women to get a massage during pregnancy. It can help reduce pregnancy body aches, reduce stress and ease muscle tension.
Couple’s massage - A couple’s massage is a massage that you do with your partner, friend or family member in the same room. Other treatments such as pedicures, facials, and body scrubs are sometimes offered as part of a package.
Chair massage - A chair massage is best for people who want a quick massage that focuses on your neck, shoulders and back. A chair massage can also be a way to introduce you to massage if you have never had one before. This type of massage uses light to medium pressure.
What should I consider before deciding on my massage therapist?
There are a number of factors that are worth considering before choosing your masseuse.
Choice – It is important to consider why you want a massage. Do you want to find relief from chronic pain or are you just looking for a way to relax? Deciding why you want to get a massage will help you narrow down your options and find the right massage therapist.
Comfort- Getting a massage is a great way to relax both physically and mentally. It is easier to take advantage of this benefit when you feel totally comfortable. That is why you should find a massage therapist that makes you feel comfortable and at ease.
Recommendations – You are likely to have at least one friend or family member that has visited a professional massage therapist and read their reviews on Bark.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local massage therapists listed will give you a relaxing and therapeutic massage.
How do I check the Massage Therapists’ credentials?
You could look for massage therapists with a Level 3 Diploma in Massage or Complementary Therapies. The Council for Soft Tissue Therapies (GCMT) is the governing body for massage therapy and recommends that all massage therapists have taken a full or part-time course.
Before you choose a massage therapist, you could read testimonials and read details of their services on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read massage reviews from past customers too. This might also help you get some ideas for the type of massage you want to book.
