Teaching is really about sharing...and sharing is caring. Sounds a bit trite, but I love the look in a students face when they realize they can do something they thought they couldn’t when a lesson started. Music has an ability to bring people together and I have several students that have studied for a few years with me. Taking this journey with them has been fulfilling and at times humbling. I’ve had students play professionally, get in bands and release records, play Carnegie Hall. And others who have just absorbed the guitar into their life. How awesome is that?
My approach. Every student has individual wants and needs. I cater to what those are and adjust to make sure they can grow as a musician as well. Some students want theory; I can cover that in depth. Some students wants to just be able to impress with some shred guitar licks from their favorite artists; sure thing! Some want to be able to strum some tunes at the campfire, let’s get after it. From Bach to Beach I got you covered...
I have been teaching remote lessons on Zoom for 3+ years and have gotten great results. It’s safe, personable, camera angles allow for clear view of what hands are doing and materials (tabs, videos, etc) can be sent immediately
