Guitar Lessons by Professional Experienced Coach

I’m so glad you’ve connected with me! I would love to help you with your goals for your guitar playing. • Online Virtual Lessons... wherever you live on Planet Earth • In-Person Lessons... Midtown West in Saint Louis, Missouri • All Levels of Playing Ability • All Styles of Music • Over 40 years of teaching & composing & performing experience • Guitar coaching can also include the art & craft of Songwriting, as well as Music Career Advisement • Bark is a new platform for my already extensive established teaching practice... so reviews are forthcoming ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I Teach Because I Love It: I love seeing a student reach their goals. I’ve been working with music students of all skill levels for long enough now that I am able to quickly determine what their next best action should be… the action that will enable them to grow and evolve as a guitar player. I have a keen sense of ascertaining a student’s current playing level, so that I can quickly get them into working on the musicianship skills that will transform their playing. So the sessions are always transformative, as they are designed to be very effective, very quickly. As a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player, you can approach the learning process in a way that keeps it fun and exciting while building the techniques and vocabulary that you’ll use every day. The cool thing about the guitar is that all of the chords and strumming patterns that you learn from day one are the same chords and strumming patterns you’ll use as an intermediate or advanced player. You don’t have to start with super basic “baby” steps and then learn what the “real” players use later down the road. You get to immediately start with the real deal. Have you been on the musical path for a while?… Maybe you’re self taught… Maybe you’ve not been able to find the right coach for you and your goals… Then it means you are now ready for some guidance in learning how to focus on developing your fundamental musical skills (like chord + scale vocabulary, music theory, right hand technique, left hand technique, fretboard navigation, improvisation, composition, etc.), which will take your playing to the next level... and this, in turn, is what builds confidence and generates creativity and helps you stay motivated. Ultimately, it's all about you, the student... so let's keep it fun and interesting as you learn the skills you need to play the music you love.

What do you love most about your job?

I have always loved being a catalyst for people to grow and evolve at a deep personal level. My own vast experience as an Artist, Musician, Performer, Composer, and Educator, enables me to fascinate change in other people's lives. It is truly fulfilling to facilitate another musician's transformation from where they are now, to where they desire to be. Anyone who is on the Creative Path understands that all it takes is a passion for music and desire to learn... and then to apply the consistent, and concerted, time & effort to manifest results.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Being a career musician requires a significant amount of business savvy. You are essentially promoting, marketing, and managing yourself as a productive business entity... a product & service. Personally, I happen to be inspired and empowered by the experience... and that has resulted in my being able to create a successful career, in a challenging field, over many decades.

My online video guitar program, 99 Decisions LLC, was an amazing adventure that taught me so much in the process of creating and launching an extensive educational platform for learning the guitar at a deep foundation level… whether the student is a complete beginner, or an experienced player who needs to fill in missing aspects of their musicianship.

It also turned out to be a really good “teaching assistant” for myself and my clients. I set all of my clients up with a free membership in the program, so they they have all of the resources they need to study the guitar right away. That way we can focus on creating a more focused + effective learning experience together in the live sessions… focusing on things that you CAN'T get out of a video, book, or class.

Why should our clients choose you?

It is so important that you find the right instructor for yourself so that you get the most out of your time, effort, and resources. I work diligently with the student to co-create a personalized curriculum that is effective and transformative, while keeping it fun and creative. This curriculum... this “Agenda”... is crucial to maintaining goal clarity. There is nothing more effective in learning a skill than having a personal coach to guide you thorough the many facets of the learning experience.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I have been doing remote lessons via online video for over 6 years now, and it is an extremely effective way to teach and to learn.... maybe even More effective then in-person, as I have all of my resources available for the student to engage with on their end through screen sharing. When it is safe, in-person lessons in my downtown Saint Louis studio will be an option.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I am fully vaccinated... and masking during in-person sessions is required.
