1) What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Let the customer beware, especially when choosing a private guitar teacher. Most of them are not qualified to teach - their teaching experience is limited and has no formal music education. - wannabe teachers out to make a buck. A waste of your time and money. Check their references - not every guitar teacher is honest - they tell you what you want to hear. The guitar teacher scammers/fakers/tricksters are advertising for you - beware! Learn to evaluate the teacher. The more questions you ask- the better judgment you can make. My advice is to ask me for a free evaluation - lesson. It's not all about performance or looks it's about teaching ability and experience.
2) What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Teaching is an art. - for the teacher learning how to teach any and everyone- with any background, lifestyle- character- personality, or handicap. Teaching with no limitations. Thinking outside the box.... even getting rid of the box altogether. I pride my teaching and my students to reach their goals. Teaching guitar is a gift to me, and therefore I am able to share and gift others. The healing power of learning- music- guitar- to play and perform for others or entertain one's self is vastly powerful - way groovy! It's so wonderful to see my students progress - learn and use the knowledge and skills I teach to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others. That said: The flip side is that society doesn't always deem the private personal guitar teacher/instructor as a valid profession. The ideology that we don't have real jobs constricts government programs and benefits and further inhibits the public from this specialized education. We can only be aware and support alternative education when ever possible for the future. - To change the mind set and mentality. Hope and faith for the future. I am here to make a living, benefit, share and gift every precious human I can. Teaching is my life and livelihood. I love & heart. :-)
Yes, I do remote lessons. FaceTime is the most used and popular. Some Skype works as well. You must have a good internet connection.
My in-person students may only come if they can prove they have had 2 shots or ...
