In 2002 we found our Caesar. He was a boxer and we went to our first real training with him for confirmation shows. Caesar was with us for 11 years and was the best fur baby EVER! He taught us, unconditional love. We also learned how much better life is when your fur baby is well-trained. We learned that he loved it when he had a good grasp of what was expected of him and how to please us. Another time that truly inspired us to continue was when we had stray dogs show up on our property. They were obviously mistreated, hungry and dirty. We knew that until we could get them used to people, car rides, and healthy that they would not find a forever home. We took the time to build the relationship, train them, clean them up, get vet care, and then found them their forever home. That is job satisfaction!
We don't pick a specific type of training and stick to that one style. We research the breed, do background information on the dog, and make a plan that meets what you want for your dog. We customize our training to fit you and your fur baby, not the other way around. We are continuously learning and updating our own training. We are members of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. We also work with the local humane society, volunteering our time to teach manners for dogs looking for their homes. We understand the importance of living with a dog in peace and joy.
No. Training our fur babies is a hands-on experience. Zoom evaluations do not show the whole picture. It is important to be in the space with the dog to have a relationship that allows the dog to bond and want to do more for the trainer and the owner.
We sanitize between training and make sure hands are washed and that we are limiting our possible exposure to Covid-19.
