I did training lessons with my dog and Jennifer McCarthy and it was a really great experience.  I rescued my dog from the shelter and he was very scared when I brought him home.  I knew I needed some help training him but I worried he would be too intimated by other dogs in a group class since he is a tiny Chihuahua. Jennifer came to my home and she helped me to get my dog to be comfortable around my daughter and some of my neighbors.  I learned so much about how to approach a scared dog and how so many shelter dogs have a lot of stress when they come out of a shelter and you need to be very patient with them. I can now go to the park with my dog and we even socialize with some of the big dogs there. we worked with Jennifer in various occasions and settings to help train our almost 2 year old puppy. Our puppy was attacked by a large pit bull a year ago and has been braking and showing aggression more often since then. Jennifer has been so great and supportive with the process because as you know, training a dog and training him to revert from his traumatic experience is not easy on his part and our part! Jennifer is always willing to listen and share her expertise with us and show us how to work with our puppy. She also used her lovely, and very well-trained pit bulls to help boost some confidence for our puppy, which our puppy have since then, made great friends with! We recently began their walking service and so far have had great experiences as well. Definitely recommend Jennifer as your trainer for any training tips to help the lovely pups in the home! Having 3 dogs that were only lightly trained I often found myself getting frustrated.  Don't get me wrong, I love all 3 of my dogs as if they were my children.  I spoil them rotten, but at times when they are all acting up it can get to me.  I turned to Jennifer for training on my youngest dog, an 8 month old west highland terrier.  We are currently half way through the 6 week training course and I am so pleased with the results so far.  Jennifer is very patient and able to handle many clients and dogs at the same time.  Her style of teaching is so much better than other trainers because she does not use treats to train the dog.  She has taught me how to have my dog focus on me and obey my commands without treats!!!On top of working with my dog that is in the class, Jennifer has met all 3 of my dogs.  She has given me tips on how to make life at home easier with my 3 dogs.  The little tips and tricks that she has given me has made my life so much easier.  All 3 dogs are behaving better, listening to me and walking easier.  Jennifer has recommended several products to me and even taught me how to use them properly.  She has turned me onto pinch collars to stop my dogs from pulling while on a leash.  At first, I was skeptical but it does not harm my dogs and has literally stopped them from pulling on the leash.  The price of the course is $300 for 6 weeks and it is so worth it.  Sure, you can go to Petsmart or Petco, but they are inexperienced.  Jennifer has dog training in her blood and her passion for training and dogs shows!  Jennifer is worth every penny! My dogs are my life! But they are wheaten terriers so they are strong, stubborn and a handful to say the least.   I've had to learn how to relate to my fabulous, funny, furry, frustrating boys! ! I hired several trainers but none of them worked as a matter of fact, the dogs were progressively getting worse. Then came Jennifer =) THANK GOD!! From the moment she walked in I knew she was the real deal.  After I explained what was going on with the boys.  She took the time to really shed light on the psychology behind dog behavior. She knew exactly what we needed to do with Lulu and G to get them on track. They are progressing so well, it brings tears to my eyes. They do synchronized commands and seem so much happier.  She is so wonderful, her energy is calm and strong. I love the way she provides feedback and recognizes when I do something right. Lets face it, it's not my dogs that are being trained, it's me... My recommendation, don't waste your time and money on other trainers, you get what you pay for,she is, in one word, AWESOME! More...
