We had an excellent experience with Jeff, the owner of WMK-9. This was the second time he trained our dog, Bentley, we needed help with excessive barking and command recall. Jeff did an outstanding job — he completely resolved the issues and gave us the tools and confidence to continue reinforcing the training at home.

Jeff is knowledgeable, professional, and truly understands dogs and their behavior. Bentley came back calmer, more responsive, and we feel more confident to take Bentley out in public.

We sent our dog Sunny to Well Mannered K9 for their recommended 2-week board and train program, which cost us about $2,400. We were told the extended stay would help the training stick better, but unfortunately we saw little to no improvement once he came home, even after following the training document we were given.When Jeff came to drop him off, he even mentioned Sunny was still struggling with basic commands like “down,” which was frustrating to hear after a 2-week program at that price point.What was most concerning is that Sunny came back with food guarding and aggression issues he NEVER had before attending training. Prior to this program, he had never shown those behaviors.When we reached out about these concerns, we were initially told they could help us work through it, but were then sent a $200 invoice for the follow-up. After later expressing our disappointment overall, we were offered one free follow-up session, but by then we had already lost confidence in the program.We also noticed from updates and photos that many dogs were being trained at the same time, which made it feel less individualized than expected for the price.For $2,400, we expected far better results and definitely did not expect our dog to come home with new behavioral issues. Jeff is very knowledgeable, reassuring and patient. I was worried about my dog being boarded for the first time because he comes from a sketchy past and has some anxiety with new environments. After many questions the first day, I was reassured that Hank was in great hands and Jeff would ensure that Hank was comfortable and that he transitioned slowly and safely into his routine. Hank came back happy and exhausted. I'm looking fwd to using Jeff every weekend for boarding while I work, which is a huge relief for me. It takes the worry off of trying to find dog sitters every wkend when I work 12-16 hrs. Previously, we had inconsistent routines with having a revolving door of sitters which seemed to increase Hank's anxiety every Monday. Using Jeff will instill a sense of stability for Hank and Jeff will continue Hank's structured routine that I have with him during the week. Since I moved to Cincinnati, my biggest concern was trying to find a place that I could board my Shiba Inu from time to time while we go on vacation. My Shiba Inu is a little extra and is a my way or the highway thinking kind of pup but the team at Well Mannered K9 was amazing with him!
They boarded him for about a week and a half and I was at complete ease as they sent me photos and text with updates, showing how happy and comfortable he was while we were gone. I was happy to see that he was making friends and enjoying his own vacation.
Well Mannered K9 also known as WMK9 has boarding services as well as training services where he’ll train on site or go on to your home. I highly suggest them for either boarding or training and I can’t thank them enough for going the extra mile as they took care of my Shiba Inu. More...

Well Mannered K9 is fantastic! We recently moved to the area and needed a place that understood the unique personality of an older Shiba Inu. WMK9 Had my 2 litter-mate Rhodesian Ridgebacks for a 3 week Board & Train. My girls were ~4.5 years old and I had specific behaviors I wanted them to "lose" - specifically recall within the dog park, meeting both people and dogs at home, while walking and inside the park, plus a few more. The most important was to not drag me when the 3 of us walked together.I was slightly apprehensive at first but Jeff kept me updated with both photos and videos so I could see how they were doing along the way. His consistent methods allowed for building skill on skill. He even had them go up and down escalators!! Each photo/video session got me more and more excited to see what kind of dogs would be coming home to me.He brought them to our dog park a few times to practice their new behaviors and I could see the difference in their interactions with people and dogs. We even met there for the 1 hour lesson/return session and I got to see first hand in a very common environment for us.Jeff worked patiently with me on handling their leashes when we walked together. He walked me through all steps to reinforce the skills they had learned and also suggested ways to train my Alpha how to stay out of the garbage!!I can clearly state that all of the listed goals were solidly achieved, and I am very pleased. In fact I couldn't be happier and consider the investment money well spent. We can’t say enough great things about Jeff and the incredible work he did with our dog, Arlo. We left Arlo with him for three weeks for aggressive/reactive boarding and training, and the difference is honestly amazing.

Before training, walks were extremely stressful — Arlo pulled constantly, reacted to anyone near our street, and could be very difficult to handle. He would jump up, get mouthy, and generally felt unpredictable in certain situations.

When we picked him up, he felt like a completely different dog. Walks are now enjoyable instead of exhausting. He walks calmly without the constant pulling, stays much more focused, and no longer goes crazy when people pass by our house or on walks. The jumping and biting behavior has also improved tremendously.

Jeff clearly knows what he’s doing and genuinely cares about the dogs he works with. He was patient, knowledgeable, and gave us guidance so we could continue reinforcing the training at home.

I’ve never been a great dog trainer, but had been fairly lucky that my previous dogs had been easy. Then came Charlie, a sweet lab, but a monster for a bad dog trainer to train. At my wits end, I had to go out of town so was looking for a boarder and decided that maybe I could get a professional to train him as well as boarding. I searched web and Facebook reviews and came across WMK9-Well Mannered K9. I contacted Jeff who promptly reached out to me and after talking with him about Charlie and my challenges and what I was hoping for, I decided to go for the 4 week training. After dropping him off, Jeff sent pictures and videos nearly every day. I was instantly amazed by what I saw Jeff and his team doing. I was seeing videos of Charlie sitting and laying down patiently while surrounded by other dogs a cat and the team being distractions….and he was still obeying the “place” and other commands. He was out at public establishments and he was not driving all the other patrons nuts. When Jeff came to bring Charlie back to me at the end for an at home training, Jeff explained everything he was working on, and why, and how I should continue going forward. River, our 6-7m old Bernedoodle spent some time with WMK9. We sent her for several reasons. Main issue is that I was not able to train her to do simple things and she started to develop several bad habits: jumping on people, running away, darting through doors and excessively hyper. After her time there we could not believe it was the same dog that came back. Still a hyper puppy, BUT comes when called, sits, stays, won’t run out the doors that we consider off limits, walk incredibly well on a leash and no longer jumps all over people when greeting. The true test was last night. We had several neighbors over(including ~ 7 kids under 7),all of which knew river prior to her training. They could not believe how well manner she was. She was great all night with everyone. Last comment is that we were left with the tools and skills to keep all her new learnings. I was concerned that coming back home she would slip back. River, our 6-7m old Bernedoodle spent some time with WMK9. We sent her for several reasons. Main issue is that I was not able to train her to do simple things and she started to develop several bad habits: jumping on people, running away, darting through doors and excessively hyper. After her time there we could not believe it was the same dog that came back. Still a hyper puppy, BUT comes when called, sits, stays, won’t run out the doors that we consider off limits, walk incredibly well on a leash and no longer jumps all over people when greeting. The true test was last night. We had several neighbors over(including ~ 7 kids under 7),all of which knew river prior to her training. They could not believe how well manner she was. She was great all night with everyone. Last comment is that we were left with the tools and skills to keep all her new learnings. I was concerned that coming back home she would slip back. After several weeks back home she is still doing great and responds very well to the beep collar. We've used Jeff for both training and, most recently, boarding. He's fantastic with our pup Mils and really made us feel comfortable while we were away for 2 weeks. Jeff took care of Mils' food, supplements, and medication without issue and being at Jeff's house (vs a facility) is extra comforting. Mils had plenty of play and stimulation during his stay and came home happy and exhausted. Jeff's communication was excellent and we got all the pictures and videos we could ask for. Jeff has an incredible connection with dogs, we had our in-home training with our 9-weeks old puppy and in just a few minutes he was able to have him stay calm and seated while we were chatting. He also teach us how train our puppy to feel relaxed in the crate with the door open and slowly closing it for a few minutes. I'm looking forward for the board and train session!! More...

Jeff came out this morning to evaluate my dog who has become very frightened of people over the past few months. I watched as he worked with my girl, and it was apparent that he is a true expert in his field. I'm 100% confident that with daily work on my part and continued training and support from Jeff, I will see huge improvements. Highly recommend WMK9-Well Mannered K9 for your dog!!!!! More...

When I brought home my 1 year old Boxer rescue to join my family I knew I would need some help. He was scared, reactive, needed leash training, visitor control, but oh so loving! Got along great, at first, with my 7 year old Shiba Inu but he quickly was placing dominance/alpha towards my boxer and I thought to myself “what have I done??” Instantly went to google and searched dog training/board and train and WMK9 was one of the first to pop up for me! All the reviews were so positive and made me confident in choosing them to help me! I scheduled both my dogs for the 3 week board/train thinking my stubborn Shiba wouldn’t get much out of it but if he could get better at basic commands/respect, it would all be worth it. And oh was it! My Shiba is still a stubborn boy but he is so much more well mannered and listens so much better. Most importantly, he’s now best of friends with my new Boxer! What I’m blown away by is how calmer my boxer is now, he’s so smart learned so quickly, we’re still working on some reactivity he’s having when on walks but over all 1000/10 experience with WMK9! This training has changed my life, changed our walks, changed my dogs for the better, while still keeping their individual personalities. I can not recommend more and will be using them for boarding and follow up trainings when needed! I’m beyond thankful! More...
