What do you love most about your job?
I am absolutely passionate about dog training and behavior modification. I believe in building happier lives for humans and canines through training and education. One of the most rewarding areas of my job is working with pet parents to manage and improve problem behaviors. Shelter and rescue dogs can be fragile and may require a great deal of patience and compassion. It is impossible to describe the joy I feel when I can bring dogs and humans closer together as well as help shelter and rescue dogs stay in their forever homes!
What inspired you to start your own business?
After a long career in Corporate America, I made the decision to transition into a career that allowed me to do something that brings me great joy every single day. I love helping humans understand their canine family and build strong bonds and memories that last a lifetime. In 2011, my mother suffered a stroke. Her journey had a tremendous impact on my life. In 2017, I made the decision to work with dogs full time. While my mother resided in various facilities, handlers would bring in dogs once a week to bring joy to the residents. At that time, residents could only have a pet if they were physically able to care for the pet on their own. My mother could not. She wished for a dog so many times. I was not able to grant her wish due to my work responsibilities. In my business, I work hard to help humans get their wish for a wonderful dog! I also want to help dogs get their wish to find and stay in wonderful loving homes!

Private Dog Obedience and Behavior Modification Training
Wishes and Wags LLC offers training services in several areas. Puppy School - We love puppies. New puppies can have many challenges. We design packages to fit your specific needs. Next, Basic Obedience Foundation Skills - We help dogs learn basic foundation skills such as focus, impulse control, sit, sit stay with focus, down, down stay with focus, recall, and more! Once foundation level skill training is complete, more advanced obedience skills can be incorporated into a training package to help pet parents apply skills to daily life challenges at a higher level of complexity. Special services are offered to address certain canine complex behaviors such as aggression, reactivity, and anxiety. Complex behaviors in canines is very complicated. There are so many variables. We work with pet parents to understand and manage the behavior. Complex behaviors cannot be "cured"; however, the goal is to achieve improvements.
Pet Sitting
In addition to dog obedience training, we offer pet sitting services. Our pet sitting services focus on pet parents that travel for short time periods. We do not board. We visit your pet up to 4 times a day in your home while you are away! This works very well for pet parents that cannot board at a facility for a variety of reasons or do not want to.
