Our issues with Window Nation are many. The windows themselves appear to be sound, our problem was with the installation and the after sale service and accountability. The installation was a nightmare. It appears that Window Nation is simply the sales front, and in Maryland, Vytex actually is contracted to do all the work. We called Window Nation many times in February 2023, after the installation, to discuss our major concerns with someone with authority, and no one ever called back. Twice I insisted on talking to some sort of supervisor, and twice I was told he was in a meeting and I was promised he would call back when the meeting was over. That was 8 months ago, and nobody ever called back. It must have been a long meeting. I’ve given Window Nation 8 months to address my concerns, but they have refused, so I am proceeding with posting this review. In October 2022 we heard the Window Nation ads on the radio, stating they could do installation before the holidays. That was a lie; we were told that due to supply chain issues, it would be two months before installation, and could not be done before the holidays. They kept running the ad for months, falsely stating their delivery schedule. We were quite disappointed, but paid the large deposit and waited. Then the installation date kept getting pushed until February 2023, a full 4 months after paying the deposit. Installation was scheduled for the afternoon of Friday February 4, 2023, between 11 am – 2 pm, so I took off work and planned accordingly. As instructed, we prepped the house for the installation, moving lots of furniture and such away from the windows to make room for the workers, which was no small task, but we recognized that upending the house for the 3-hour installation was necessary so we dealt with it. The installation crew showed up at 1:30 pm, with no promised phone call, and the crew chief just opened our front door and let himself in, no knocking. We have two cats that we were going to lock up during the installation, but did not have the chance since they did not call and just let themselves in, and that caused great stress on the cats and on us to try to calm them down. Not a single member of the 5-person crew had a good command of English, not even the leader, making it very difficult to communicate. Further, the crew would never speak in English in our presence. I have previously lived overseas, and I was taught that it’s simply polite and shows respect to speak in a country’s native tongue while in public. These workers were guests in our home and I think it was rude that they made no effort to speak English in our presence. It was a very cold and windy day, the coldest and windiest of the year, wind chills plummeted to close to zero degrees. Their aluminum sheets were blowing all over the neighborhood. We were told that it would take around 3 hours for the installation, and after 4 hours of work, only half the work had been done. Plus, none of the final caulking or trim was completed outside. Around 5:30 pm the leader announced, with no warning, that they could not continue, that it was too cold and too windy to work on the upstairs windows, and announced they would be back the following day, Saturday, to finish up. Tough luck if we had plans. We had a number of plans scheduled for Saturday which we had to cancel, it was rather disappointing. Further, that mean all the moved furniture and such, which was a great inconvenience, would have to remain in their wrong location. Our kitchen was basically out of commission, so we could not cook dinner that evening, nor could it be used on Saturday until the work was completed. We agreed to a 9:00 am Saturday start. The outside trim and caulking were lacking, so the partially installed windows were quite drafty, with overnight temperatures dropping to below 10 degrees with strong winds; needless to say it was a very cold night in the house. This was a tremendous inconvenience to us on many levels that the work did not complete on Friday, as promised. The Saturday crew arrived at 8:00 am and consisted of only two workers: the leader, and one assistant who was fairly new at what he was doing; who constantly needed to stop and ask questions. We had cancelled our Saturday morning plans, assuming they could finish up by noon. We were wrong; it took the whole day, since it was a crew of only two, and not a crew of five. As Saturday unfolded, and our plans for the day got cancelled one by one, these two workers slowly got to work. The leader spent most of the day outside on a ladder, caulking, cutting and bending metal, and installing all the trim. The apprentice spent the day removing the 4 upstairs windows and installing the new ones. By 3 pm, after six full hours, they were still were installing the last two windows, and had two more that needed caulking and finishing, as well as a bit more outside work was needed. Debris cleanup still needs to be done, the windows need a final cleaning and inspection, and we still need a walkthrough. In all, they did not complete and leave until 5:30 pm on Saturday, in essence taking 15 hours across two days when we were told it would take three hours. They should have brought in a full crew on Saturday so the work could be completed as quickly as possible. I willingly gave up a half-day of work on Friday for the installation, but we were not prepared to give up an ENTIRE Saturday for them to finish the job. That is the utmost inconsideration. I bought the windows from Window Nation, and they were presented at the time of sale as the largest residential window installer in the nation, with very good ratings. But every bit of communication since the initial sale has been with a contractor, Vytex Windows, who I believe are the ones who manufacture the windows, and the crew that came to install the windows were also Vytex Windows contractors. I feel like Window Nation simply made the sale then passed the contract on to someone else to finish, also passing off any responsibility. Communication was lacking during this entire process. We should have been given a realistic schedule right from the start. We should have received a call when the crew was on their way, so we would have the time to lock up the cats. The crew should have communicated more with us. Window Nation should have returned our many calls. On Saturday, my cats were locked up in a bathroom for over 9 hours, and could not let them out because they would have jumped out the empty window holes. The installation process has been a nightmare. In the past 2 years we've three separate crews come into our home to replace the HVAC and bathroom and such, each process requiring large work crews and great household disruption, yet those installations went very smoothly, compared to the Window Nation installation. My concerns with the work crew can be easily addressed with a little training. My big concern is with Window Nation corporate, how their communication was poor, and I'm baffled how they could ever approve of a skeleton crew of only 2 workers to come and take an entire unscheduled day to finish the job. We bought seven standard windows and one sliding glass door, it should not have taken 15 hours of our valuable time across two days for this to happen. Getting a new roof, a new HVAC system, a new bathroom, all took less time than the window replacement. I found three issues the following day after the crew left, as I was putting all the furniture back and testing the windows: 1) One of the windows installed in the kitchen does not fully close without extreme effort, I cannot latch it shut, and that is an immediate safety concern. No amount of repeated opening and closing of the window makes it seat properly in the closed position, often requiring two people, one pushing up the top pane, the other pushing down on the lower pane, to lock the window. 2) The outside handle on the sliding glass door was installed backward, and is difficult if not impossible to grasp it and close. 3) A workman left a DeWalt retractable utility knife on site, it was found under a bed near a window installed. That was a huge concern since we often have our grandchildren over to visit and they stay in that room, and could have been injured. Vytex did come out and fix the door handle and retrieved the utility knife, but the window latching is still an issue. All calls to Window Nation have led nowhere. It has been a very disappointing process, and my trust and confidence in the company remain very low. Had Window Nation corporate returned my calls, as promised, we could have discussed all my issues, but they chose not to, so I am posting this review as a caution to others. Beware of Window Nation. Dallas, Texas install July 2022. Company is quantity over quality, just find the next house/customer to sell to. If I would have imagined this experience and results, I would have never even attempted using Window Nation. Have spoken to scheduling, install manager, and emailed a territory sales manager and apparently the company ceo (as stated in “thank you for your business” card we recently received in the mail) and have had no caring response back to actually make it right. On day 1 of install, 2 of 3 laborers quit on the job before finishing installing 12 windows and the “on-site project supervisor” wasn’t even present for the job. On day 2 of install, a 108” opening for a 3-piece slider door, is installed with a 105” door, which was a custom order, and the 3” gap is partially filled with spray-foam and then covered with metal and vinyl trim as is “normal” per installers, whom stated “we’ll make it look good”. Seeing poor quality/concerns in the windows, screens, and installation methods, I am trying to find confidence in my decision in selecting the company, their standards, and installers expertise/experience, but am having no luck. Feel like I’m almost at a loss, like I’m not suppose to hold them to a higher level of accountability and integrity. For my home, I really regret the decision of using them. More...

3/26/23 Paul Cangialosi, sales agent, from Window Nation came out to our house to give us his spiel about windows and doors. Boy, is he a good salesman, as he had us eating out of the palm of his hand. He told us so many lies it makes my head spin that we believed him. His boss, Sales Manager, David Goldman, spun the lies as well. But, we agreed to have our windows and doors replaced. Front door, back slider, all 17 windows in our home. 4/10/23 William Zack (a/k/a Bill) came out to TAKE PICTURES and measure all windows and doors. 6/7/23 Windows and doors installed. Was told by Paul Cangialosi that the installers had OVER 10 years experience. They guys who came to install had 6 years experience. They arrived at 7:30am and were done by 12:30pm. As I inspected the windows and doors after they left, I found major problems. Gouges in at least 7 windows, silicone all over the windows, most windows don’t close and open properly, different screws in most window – not matching and some were drywall screws, the front door didn’t close properly and light could be seen when closed, the back slider is ugly, large lock that doesn’t work, there is no foot lock as promised, again different screws on back slider. There are only 2 windows in my house now that have a 2 inch sill. All of our windows prior to the installation had a 2 inch sill around each and every window in my house. Now only 2 do and they are in the living room, where it is noticeable that they are different and installed incorrectly. Also, those 2 windows have cracks in all 4 sills surrounding the window. So, what did I do? I sent an email, which pictures, to Paul Cangialosi, who forwarded it off to the install department. 6/9/23 the Branch Manager, Mathew Quirk, came out to inspect the windows and doors. He admitted it was a “rush job” and “shotty” work. He said he would have someone come out and fix some issues. The guys who showed up cleaned the silicone off the windows, and added white (non-paintable) silicone to the cracks in the corners of the 2 windows with the 2 inch sills. As for the other issues, Mathew Quirk said he would send William Zack out on Monday to check them out. Mathew Quirk also said that a woman named Amy Fitzpatrick would be reaching out to us about getting us compensation back because of these issues. 6/12/23 William Zack came and adjusted several windows and said they needed to order other things for us. 6/22/23 Finally received a call from Amy Fitzpatrick and she asked me to send pictures of the problems. I did that and asked why only 2 windows in the entire house had a 2 inch sill when they all used to. 6/23/23 The response I received from William Zack was that the “front wall is 2x4 where the back was is a 2x6”. That response is absolutely ridiculous as if that was the case, all the back windows would have been the same. SILENCE 7/10/23 After sending various emails, I called to speak to Amy Fitzpatrick. She told me William Quirk said he would give us a measly amount for our troubles. I responded that I was looking for more and once again silence. 7/11/23 I sent Branch Manager, Mathew Quirk, an email stating that we would accept what I think is a fair amount for our troubles and I, once again, have been met with silence. Worse company to work with. They will hound you to buy from them which they gave me what I thought was a great price for 2 windows. However these windows have cost me hundreds in bills and have hurt me physically. After having the windows installed everything seemed fine. Within hours I had the company calling and emailing me non stop to write a review, they even had a 2nd company call me to tell me to write one. This went on for over a week. I'm so happy I waited to see how I felt about the windows cause boy oh boy. When the windows they sell you have issues they do NOTHING, instead they tell you to deal with the company that installed them. Which ended up being a complete nightmare. These windows get so hot I ended up burning my hand from a simple touch, not only my hand got burn but my curtains got damaged from the amount of heat they put off (I sent photos and their worker came to take photos as well) The company has not offered to replace my curtains and their solution was to tape cardboard on my windows for a month till they could get new ones. Well that month turn to almost 2 due to the replacement windows being done wrong. Now that I have windows again, they dont lock or close smoothly and 1 panel gets super hot! I have had 5 people try to open, close, and lock these windows. All have had issues getting them to do so. The company does not stand behind what they sell you. They go silent and refuse to return calls when THEY ordered the wrong windows(installer comfirmed) and what they did order ended up hurting me. Please avoid this company its not worth the trouble. If you are planning to use Window Nation to replace the windows in your home, here is a cautionary story. We contracted with Window Nation (WN) to replace ALL the windows in our house in Villanova, PA in March of 2022. A nearly $40,000 job. The replacement windows were so sub-standard that they all need to be replaced. And the poor quality and inferior workmanship may have already created (and may be creating) additional damage to our stucco house. On four separate occasions, Window Nation's own representatives -- its original installers, initial inspector, manager/inspector, and re-measurer -- all confirmed, in person, that the windows that were originally installed, manufactured by a company called Alside, were so defective that they all need to be replaced. Among many other problems, some of the windows were cracked/broken, the window slats are crooked and do not line up with one another, most windows have irremovable industrial adhesive in conspicuous places, screens are ripped and loose, more than 50% of the windows do not have window cranks, some windows do not lock, and some windows have to be force closed from the exterior of the house. We have been attempting to work with Window Nation to get our windows replaced, but we just keep getting the run around from the company. They’ve left 75% of our exterior windows without caulking them because they capped the windows with the wrong color and were supposed to come back, but never did. Like the TV commercial by Window Nation's competitor, Window Nation is blaming the manufacturer; the manufacturer is blaming the installer, and the installer is pointing its finger at the manufacturer. And while all the finger pointing is going on, we are left with defective unusable windows and ongoing damage to our house as a result. We have been in contact with and have documented emails, voicemails and texts from the original WN sales agent (John Doran), WN escalation team members (Hans Brown and Ashlyn Granger), and the owners of WN (Aaron and Harley Magden) all claiming that they will ‘resolve the situation’ and they ’will do the right thing’. Aaron Magden (owner) emailed us saying ‘please allow Harley and I to personally dig into so we can get your situation resolved. It’s embarrassing to hear what’s transpired as this is not the type of operation we run. Thanks for your patience and we profusely apologize for what you’ve endured’. That was September 6, 2022! We never heard from them again. We can no longer sit idly by while Window Nation fails to honor its end of the bargain. We’ve filed a complaint with the BBB and filed a formal lawsuit to compel Window Nation to honor its contractual commitments. More than 1 year is plenty of time for them to have resolved! More...

Windows were left a mess and they don’t look good. With how much they rushed the job I don’t trust the install was done right. Windows aren’t the right size and also don’t match. Some are crooked. Some are broken. Finally came back over a month later and still don’t have all the windows. Install crew was told to inspect and clean up the messy job, and they didn’t do anything. Now I can’t get the production supervisor or the install supervisor to call me back and I’m still missing a window. The worst experience. Now I really don’t believe the windows will do the things I was told they would. Truly overpriced and the buy 2 get 2 is a scam. We had 5 windows done by Window Nation in Oct 2022. The windows that should have taken a day to install took 3 long days. After inspecting the windows the drip molding on the top of the windows was installed wrong which also caused water damage in 2 of the Oak bay windows. Brick molding was installed sideways. Windows leaked so badly after installation that you could blow out a lighter with the cold air. My husband had to go out and seal the outside from the elements because water was running down along our siding. They didn't match the woodwork with the rest of the house. Corners in woodwork were completely horrible and split and cracked from the finish nails. After reaching out several times with no communication back, 3 months later they finally had a new installer come out to redo the work. We were promised compensation from Paul Bierwerth for horrible craftsmanship as he finally came to the house after 3 months in the dead of winter. They lied to us over and over and are now telling us if they compensate they want to pull our warranty for the windows. We lost many days of work, spent hours on the phone, our newborn baby's room is left with mold and we lost so much heat over the 3 months we had to wait to get it all fixed. We are so discouraged and disgusted at this display of craftsmanship and professionalism. More...

we were happy with them at first but recently we lost one of our screens due to wind. we called and twice the callbacks were asking how many windows we want to replace. when we finally talked to someone they said we need to measure the window and pick the type of screen then contact the screen manufacturer and they will tell us the cost for shipping. This is a lot more hurdles then what our sales rep said . He told us no matter what happens to the screens they are covered for lifetime and just to call. Heck the representative that we spoke to couldn't even give us phone numbers of who to call More...

I do not recommend this company and I should have read reviews before calling them and setting up a very disappointing and terrible experience with Tom the companies customer service man. When I spoke with company on telephone and explained I was getting prices and would be seeking my own financing. When Tom began his sales pitch I saw red flags but given benefit of doubt never using company I say listen to what Tom had to say. It was when he began asking me to sign his tablet I saw red flags 🚩 and questioned him further getting told no credit check was being done. The salesman lied if your looking for a business for your project stay far away from the company and their lying salesman. More...

We had our windows installed in Mid-December, including one that shipped cracked. Our yard and driveway were left filled with nails, staples, and debris from the old windows, and we have not received an update on our replacement window in approximately 45 days. The cracks in our damaged window have continued to spread, which is not a good sign since it’s still winter - WindowNation, when will this be made right? Calling out our salesperson by name - Terry Kuntz- where’s the experience we paid for? More...

Horrible DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!! absolutely horrible management and customer service!! we had the whole house completely done with new windows past summer. Including our basement we let the sales person know that safety in the basement was our major concern, and that all windows had to be safe and available to use for emergency exits. Instead, they wrote us a contract or two of the windows, barely even open at a 40° angle after experiencing a small fire we called to let them know that we had discovered this problem and would like those two windows replaced with a set an alarm model two what is in the rest of the basement and being a typical money before customer service company they said they would absolutely do that but we would have to pay first and perhaps maybe we could get some sort of discount giving up an absolutely zero concern for my family safety or customer service More...

Absolutely pathetic company! We scheduled an appointment for today WEEKS AGO! No one said anything about confirming the appointment. Since my wife missed the calls, now they are not available, after we rescheduled our day to allow for them to come out! They lied and said they called my phone and they 100% did not!! So, they obviously do not keep their appointments! FIND ANOTHER COMPANY!!! More...
