VKH Movers were awesome. I had so much anxiety about our long distance move from MD to Charlotte NC but they showed up on time at 7:00am as schedule and had all furniture, TV's and pictures wrapped and loaded with every box by 10:00am and on the road by 10:30am. DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN YOUR BUSINESS. The owner, Vlad, is absolutely unprofessional and needs to learn how to interact with his customers. First and foremost, his website says he accepts card, cash, and checks. I used his company for a short distance move on November 14th, getting my household belongings into a storage unit, and then again a few weeks later for an out of state move. After the first job was done Vlad called me and told me I needed to pay his movers in CASH. I told him I did not have cash and could use a card, and he told me he needed cash. I felt uncomfortable and told him I'd have to go to an ATM to pull money out and he told me his "guys would just follow me there." He would not allow me another method of payment. So I stood at the ATM with two grown men watching me withdraw money. Not a pleasant experience. I had to follow up with him and ask for a receipt for the transaction, which took him a few days to provide. The out of state move on November 20th went about the same. We had a time set for 0900 to start loading the truck. His guys didn't show up until after 1400. This was a military move and required weight tickets to be completed. I reminded Vlad numerous times before the movers started driving that I needed weight tickets. He insisted it was getting done and not to worry. Once again the movers called Vlad to let him know they finished loading up the truck. The movers did not speak english, so it made it hard for them to communicate with me. Vlad told me I had to pay half right then before they movers started driving. He said to use Zelle. I was not able to provide half through Zelle due to their limits. I told him I could send $1,000 and the rest on a card. He told me to just pay the rest the next day. This was the second time I attempted to pay with a card and he refused. The original plan was to drive on the 21st, but he had his guys start driving as soon as they finished loading the truck, which was around 1900 on the 20th. This caused me to have to leave late at night to beat them to Kentucky instead of using the hotel room I bought for the night. I asked Vlad three times to confirm they would not drive on the 20th. Obviously communication is not his strong suit. The movers arrived to Kentucky on the 21st and spent all day unloading. Once they finished unloading the truck they called Vlad like they did the first move to let him know they finished. He did not answer. They tried numerous times and couldn't get a hold of him. They didn't know what to do for payment. I tried reaching out to Vlad as well to try different methods of payment since Zelle would not allow me to send any more money to him. No response. I sent a final text and said I gave his movers cash since I didn't receive a response. I reminded him about the weight tickets and he replied he would get them to me the next day when the guys returned the truck. Not sure why the guys didn't have the weight tickets on them in the first place. A week goes by and no weight tickets or receipt. I reach out to Vlad to ask about them. His response was they were in the office and he was traveling for Thanksgiving. He would send them upon his return. I told him I understood since it was a holiday. Reached out again Dec 3rd. Still no weight tickets or receipt. He said he was sending them shortly. Wrote him again on the 4th since I had nothing in my email. No response. I sent him another text on the 5th. No response. I called his number twice and left a voicemail. No response. I then called his sales office on Dec 5th. The sales manager said he had no idea what was going on and would call Vlad and get an answer. No follow up. I called again Dec 6th and spoke with the sales manager He said he hasn't been able to get ahold of Vlad and doesn't know what's going on, but he would get back to me. I have not received a response. It would appear to me his movers never got the weight tickets and he has just been stalling. If he would have just told me from.the beginning they forgot the weight tickets I would have been upset, but I would have apprwciated the honesty. It is completely unprofessional to ignore a customer that is simply just requesting a receipt for a service she paid for IN CASH. Vlad is shady and I hope people read this and advise against using his company. I feel bad for his employees. The movers were nice and don't deserve a bad review for their work. More...

I would strongly recommend against VKH. Vladyslav, the owner, had helped me move last November and during the move he dropped a glass table that completely shattered. I would strongly recommend against VKH. Vladyslav had helped me move last November and during the move he dropped a glass table that completely shattered. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. I rarely write reviews, let alone negative ones but I need to warn others about using VKH Movers. Not only was the final price double what I was quoted, but the company sent three inexperienced movers, and a truck that was too small. Due to this, a move that should have only taken 4-5 hours took 9. The movers ruined over $6,000 in furniture and our scratched our floors. Because of the weight they are only reimbursing me $220. One of the items was a brand new light weight $1,500 Thule bike carrier for my son that we now can't use - I am livid. The movers also expected us to buy them lunch. They did not properly use blankets to wrap furniture either. They said they would do it in the van but only wrapped it with plastic wrap that we provided. Horrible moving experience. I went with these guys as they were a bit cheaper than 2 other competitors. Made a big mistake as they arrived 2 hours late and were disorganized. Luckily, the person who had the elevator reserved after me didn't use the elevator, or we would not have been able to move. Overall, it took the movers a long time, about 2 hours longer to move my one bedroom apartment than last time, which is 50% more, and it ended up costing me more. They also broke and scratched some furniture. One desk broke, another shelf came apart, and 2 stools faux leather was ripped. Other scratches and scrapes to 3 more furniture pieces as well. Keyada and Vincent were great. Great attitude, very careful with our stuff, worked diligently from start to finish. Taking off one star because the price came out considerably over estimate, though I suppose that's just how these things go so not necessarily an indictment on them. Moved from a 1 BR apt in DC to a 1 BR apt in Fairfax, had loading docks reserved at both places and still somehow took 5.5 hours, so I racked up a few hourly charges past the estimate. Owner agreed to knock off 30 minutes, but still a little more than I thought I was going to pay. Other than that, they did a great job. With their help, I (female) and my two (female) friends were able to move out of my 1BR apartment to my new place in UNDER FOUR HOURS!!! First, VKH was VERY responsive and flexible with my schedule. I'm a busy professional and a life-long procrastinator. I was scheduled to move out of my apartment on 10/19, and I posted my move project on Thumbtack on 10/16. VKH quickly responded to my request. They first gave me a time window for 2-3PM, but after I asked for an earlier slot, they were able to do the job at noon. They even arrived early!!! Next, the two-person move team was so professional and efficient. They took great care to wrap my furniture to prevent damage and handled all my belongings with care. Next, the move team was very adaptable. When we arrived at my new place, we encountered a snag with reserving the freight elevator. They quickly adapted the load out plan and were able to empty the truck in less than 75 minutes. Finally, VKH was a very good financial decision. We moved from Maryland to Virginia from one house with twenty years of "stuff" in it to a smaller house. Â The moving team that took care of us were excellent! Â I can't say enough about their willingness to help us at every turn. Â They were prompt, professional and kind even to our little Yorkie who was constantly underfoot! The two guys that came to help me move were very nice, but they were a half hour late. This normally wouldn't be a problem, but we only had the loading docks from 8-12 (which we expressed) and needed to get our stuff moved fast. The move ended up taking until 2pm (the last 2 hours we had to pay extra to have the loading dock for). While the movers did move the stuff quickly, they didn't secure it very well in their van as when they pulled up our second pick up location, we could hear things banging around. They also used tape on our wood furniture which caused some damage when we took it off. There were a few pieces of furniture that also had chips / scrapes on them as well, which was disappointing for how much we paid for movers. If you're looking for a cost effective moving company, they are very responsive and quick in their move, but if you're moving really nice furniture (ours was thankfully only IKEA), i'd look elsewhere. Vlad and his team did a great job. Super easy communication throughout the process and then on move day, they worked efficiently and with no hassles. All you can ask for in a move is to make it as stress-free as possible. I highly recommend Vlad and his team. Reasonable prices and very easy to work with. One piece of advice though... make sure you discuss and estimate the size of truck they'll need. We hired VKH movers recently to move from a one bedroom apartment in D.C. to our condo in Alexandria. Â Starting with the owner (Vlad), he was very responsive and professional in all our dealings; we even had a situation regarding scheduling (due to an error on the part of the building management company, not VKH) and Vlad was very helpful and flexible, accommodating a much earlier time of day than initially coordinated which my fiancee and I very much appreciated (we all know how stressful moves can be).Regarding the day of; The crew arrived on time and were very polite and professional with us, taking excellent care of our things and moving in an extremely efficient manner (we were ready to roll in about 90 minutes). Â They were even willing to help me move a couple of pieces of furniture around in the condo to include moving an old mattress, box spring and headboard out to the curb which I really appreciated. Efficient and best price in town! VKH movers definitely know their stuff. We needed a one bedroom and living room to be moved out and they got it done in 2. 5 hours with two guys and a big truck. If I told you how many times I've moved, you wouldn't believe me...so I'll leave that part out. Suffice it to say that I know a good moving company when I see one and VKH gets the highest marks. I was initially surprised when I contacted them and their quote was 1/3 of the other companies; I met with Vlad to look over my house and after he and I discussed the details of the move, I decided to give them a shot. Their team was fast, effecient, and safe. Even though I was moving a relatively short distance, I was also moving some items into storage and some it's to donation locations. When VKH was able to completely pack and move me in one day, I was surprised. When they did it with no damage to any of my property, all items reassembled, and stayed until I had fully inspected everything, I was unbelievably pleased. Very easy to communicate with and every reliable. I asked them to help me move a piano but didn't give them enough info of how heavy the piano would be. They showed up with two guys and realized that it was impossible to move with just two. VKH movers are very good. Vlad came for an estimate a couple weeks before and when they came they accidentally brought only one truck. Not to worry though because they brought a second truck and were very quick in moving out our stuff. Used to move a few pieces of LARGE furniture that I purchased from someone in the same town.The guys that were moving the furniture did a FABULOUS job covering the furniture when packing up. Â They were very conscious of the other items around them with moving furniture out and in!They were able to provide a same day service. Â The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because they arrived later than the scheduled time; HOWEVER, they DID communicate what time they would arrive so I was aware and could plan accordingly.Definitely recommend this company!
