I help young professionals, who feel they are not okay as they are, to believe in themselves, by setting boundaries and prioritizing their needs.
Old Me:
- To succeed, I thought I needed to soldier on and sacrifice my needs and gifts
- Over time, I realized I could not fight it any longer, something had to change

I really enjoyed my time working with Tyler. He was extremely easy to talk to and created a comfortable space where I felt heard and understood. Through our conversations, he guided me through a process that helped me identify what truly matters most in my life. I realized I wasn’t spending enough time on the things I value, and with his support, we were able to create a clear path forward—one that allows me to focus more on what brings me joy and fulfillment. Identifying what truly matters most in life is essential, and something most people do not do. With that as your true north, you have direction. It was a pleasure working with you and remember we are all in this together!

I had lost my sense of direction when trying to adjust to single life and a recent move. Originally thought family and a diverse group of people would ease the transition. Much to my chagrin, I continued to flounder causing me angst. Tyler’s honest feedback and different perspectives helped me to get back on track. His understanding of my values along with his planning strategies will continue helping me achieve what I want in life. More...

I am happy to comment on my experience as a “coachee” for Tyler Haling’s Life Coaching. Tyler coached me for five sessions, focusing on my transition to Florida, where I reside for six months every November through May as a “snowbird”.
Although this sounds like an easy thing to do (escaping winter), I find annual “reentry” into a very socially active 55+ community to be fraught with “should do's”. This is the type of community that is small enough for everyone to play a role, contributing one’s gifts and talents to the community, to make the experience for “the whole” so much more enriching. I do believe that living in a socially active environment is good for me, but it takes some time management and the ability to say, "No", to enjoy living in community in a healthy way.
First, Tyler led me to two questions:
What is the impact that a certain obligation has on me?
How is the obligation serving me, or how is it not serving me?
I found these questions to be very helpful in deciding whether or not to continue with certain activities. By simply picking an activity or obligation apart, I learned that these opportunities are quite complex, resulting in equal amounts of benefit and deficit. It became necessary to reduce my time with some obligations or leadership roles, and to be assertive enough to communicate this. This decision freed up some time for me to pursue new goals that had been waiting in the wings, and to recognize that all of these goals, new or old, take a lot of time and energy.
Next we focused on the discipline and tedious work lying behind these new goals and designed smaller stepping stones to reach them. Through brainstorming with Tyler, I could make these stepping stones more meaningful if I chose to, with a little mindfulness and imagination.
Next we focused our attention on core values. This began with a free-write which I enjoyed. I discovered in this exercise that I have high standards about the character of people whom I associate with. The value of creativity and “flow” ranked high on my priority list, and through Tyler’s follow-up questions we made an important connection between creative “flow” and my overall wellbeing. In short, my best times are when I am “making stuff”.
We talked a lot about proficiency and why this is important to me, not to the degree that the work becomes punitive, but allowing for another core value of “play” to lighten the mental and physical load.
It is now a few months past our sessions together and in writing this reflection, I find it is hard still to not say, "yes", to every invitation to oblige the wants of others at the sacrifice of my own. It is helpful to have my notes, to revisit my core values and introductory coaching questions for an occasional re-boot. I know too that I can pick back up with Tyler for more sessions if needed.
I highly recommend Life Coaching for anyone in the midst of transitions or life changes, and I believe that Tyler’s gentle disposition, skill set in coaching, and ability to focus on the conversation/task at hand is very valuable.

I worked with Tyler over 4 sessions (each lasting an hour). He helped me juggle various general life issues I was facing at the time. He has a calm demeanor and is a very good listener, which was helpful for me in terms of feeling comfortable opening up about my feelings. I think the largest takeaway that I got from the experience was to learn to trust my gut or "inner guide" as he calls it. This was a valuable experience for me and has helped me realize that the best way for me to live my life is to trust myself! 10/10 would recommend trying coaching with Tyler, you won't regret it.
