Training Camp is less of a gym/yoga studio and more of a little cool fitness community. The people who work there are genuine and friendly; I love that they make the effort to remember everyone's name and check you in as you arrive. I go solely for the hot yoga and just love it. The classes are rarely packed and every teacher strives to give a special experience combined with an intense workout. More...

I loveeee the training camp! This gym is like my other family. All the instructors are great, they offer many different options for what style of work out works best for you. I started with a groupon, then went to buy three month package now I'm at the one year unlimited package. A fairly new class they started introducing is Restorative yoga with Missy and Jess, it is exactly the type of balance I defiantly needed and I feel like everyone could benefit from.I have taken Barre with Tanya, Taylor, Nicole and Missy, they all play great music and keep the energy and intensity up! I've heard the other barre instructors do the same, their class times just haven't worked with my schedule so I haven't tried them yet.One of my favorite flow classes is with Phaedra Sunday's at 5, it's perfect way to end your week.Max and Crandle lead the circuit training which is a great way to switch up your workouts with different kind of cardio and heavier weights. My favorite/hardest class is yoga sculpt with Missy-if you want to get your butt kicked do this class!Training camp also leads a lot of workshops designed to help you with your overall help as well as fitness.About 4-5 months ago I took one of these programs called the 6 week slim down lead by Nicole Carter. The first round I lost 14 pounds and total so far I have lost 31 pounds! I've been a Training Camp member for almost 2 years now and I LOVE it. I've never been a traditional gym person, but I've always been active. Training Camp is great for all kinds of active people. There are tons of hot yoga classes (that's my jam) and barre classes (haven't tried those yet). They have bootcamp and personal training too. I haven't done that, but I have used the equipment (which you can do for free as a member). This is definitely not like 24-hour fitness. It's very small and intimate. Personally, I like that. I like seeing the same people and I like that the owner knows my name. If you're the type who wants to use machines and be basically invisible as you do so, this might not be the place for you. Also, your membership here will likely be double or triple what you pay at 24-hour fitness. But you have to consider what you get. If you're into yoga or barre, you would pay up to $25/class at a general studio. Here, if you have a membership, it can work out to less than $10/class. And don't forget the free access to the gym equipment. Oh, and to note, the classes are FAR superior to any class you'll get at 24-hour fitness. No doubt about that.I'm holding out hope that they put in a pool! They have the space. That would make this the ultimate "training camp." More...

The hot barre class is awesome. Every instructor is very different. You can burn 1,000 calories, (NOT KIDDING), in Tanya's class. She really knows what she is doing. Shelly is also insane... mainly dance in a super hot room that makes you sweat a lot, then barre. Taylor is also a good calorie burner. Noelle is more balet and barre technique. Every class is in a room temp of at least 80 degrees, so that right there will shed some water weight. I take Tanya's class religiously three days a week, then two days of either Taylor or Shelly. I have toned up and am very happy. These classes make a huge difference! I was in shape before I joined and now I am beyond happy with my body because I have taken these classes seriously, yet had fun while doing them.Do not expect a "pure barre" experience. Barre exercises are not traditional and does not focus as much on technique, but the outcome is more effective than anything this work out freak has tried yet- and I was a hard core pure barre client prior. There is also two clean showers for optional use. Check out what to bring to each class. Foot wear is optional. The cost is very reasonable.Child care available! More...

I absolutely love Training Camp! I attended Bootcamp and a few yoga classes when I paid for a month of unlimited classes. I highly recommend buying for a time frame rather than individual classes if you like going to the gym 3 or more times a week .  Every bootcamp class was relatively small, about 3-5 other people with one trainer (there was even one class where only I showed up so it was like having a personal trainer-score!). It was great to go through the workouts at my own pace while Max kept a watchful eye on my progress and form so I wouldn't injure myself. The other members were always encouraging and happy to be there, which created a nice atmosphere for a torturous workout (in a good way!). These classes are really great for losing weight and getting fit quickly because they're so grueling. I took a couple different yoga classes, and my favorite was Hot Yoga Flow Level One with Billy. Although the rooms here are a little on the small side, it fostered a more personal environment. Again, there were not may people who came to this class (about 3-5) so space was never an issue. Billy goes at a nice pace for beginners and has a very soothing voice that is quite calming. I felt fantastic doing bootcamp and this yoga class on alternating days, 5 days a week!I also took a hot yoga sculpt class with Kimberly and absolutely loved it! She brings so much energy to the class it's hard not to smile while you're working hard in a class that incorporates yoga, weights, and dance. Max and Billy learned my name immediately and were very supportive of my desire to get more in shape, even if I was a bit of a clumsy beginner. They made me feel like they genuinely appreciated my business and were always friendly. More...

I tried this place with a Groupon and was instantly hooked. I had never done hot yoga or any kind of yoga before and, to be honest, the whole idea of being around other people's sweaty bodies really grossed me out. But after my first class with Jill I realized why everyone was so obsessed with hot yoga! Jill was patient with me and the other beginners. She taught us how to do the poses without judging us. She has a nice calming voice and a great flow while really kicking your butt! My favorite part is when she sprays the essential oils at the end of class, it puts me right into full relaxation mode. The other instructors were great too, especially Juli, but my favorite class to attend is Jill's candlelit yoga class. Also, the room is not too small, and doesn't smell bad (it actually smells good!) and everything seems very clean. Sadly, my Groupon expired and I tried 2 other hot  yoga places with Groupons, and unfortunately, those places were really just not up to the standards I had become accustomed to at the Training Camp. All of the instructors I've taken classes from are great but Nichole is my favorite. All classes are an hour and there's always just the right amount of space - never too crowded like you get at some of the other good studios. I pass out when it gets too hot and TC always keeps it hot but reasonable. Lots of classes are available throughout the day but I really like that they offer an early one, @ 6 a.m.The only small ding is that the yoga room is kind of an awkward shape and mirrors are only on two small walls. The emphasis is on making the most of your time on your mat. I appreciate the non competitive atmosphere within the classes as everyone is there to enjoy the experience in the way they can/want too. However, there are plenty of opportunities to push yourself and at least trying something challenging is encouraged. There is a wonderful mix of both the spiritual (however that may speak to you) and physical. I love that I can roll in without any makeup, roll out drenched in sweat, and be completely comfortable. Reviewed on Yelp

This is more than a Yoga Studio... it's a retreat.  I have found that the emphasis at TCHY is to develop your own practice.  All of the instructors are dedicated to helping you in your practice where you are right now and all levels are welcomed and encouraged.  The rooms are large and serene.  There is plenty of parking.  I have never seen a class so crowed that anyone was turned away.  There are two studios, so if a time of day is very popular, there is often a second class offered.  I chose to sign up for a membership because there is a large selection of classes to take.  In addition to the hot yoga classes, there are a few non-heated or lightly heated, there are sculpting classes as well as mat Pilates.  There are also classes designated to teaching beginners and breaking down the poses so that you can learn to practice yoga with correct form for maximum benefit.  This class is helpful to more advanced students too who have developed bad habits or need a refresher course on how to move through postures correctly.  They also offer Crossfit classes (I hear the Saturday one is always free) on their large field area.  I have not tried it yet, but am working up the courage to really challenge myself with it soon. The facility itself is beautiful.  A perfect little hideaway, suprisingly, right off the 5 freeway.  There are showers and lockers, a large workout room complete with fiteness machines and cardio equipment.  There is also a juicebar room which I haven't seen any food come out of, but I suppose they can bring food in for special events like camps and workshops.  But they do have a cooler with drinks and water for purchase.  They also provide a towel service and mats for those who are in a hurry and forget or are just trying it out for the first time and aren't ready to invest in the mat, etc.  I do recommend bringing a small towel to wipe off with, a bottle of water and a bath or beach towel to lay over your mat because you will be sweating out the toxins and getting the best workout of your life.  The mind/body/spirit connection at TCHY is alive and well!  If you are looking to get away from the "peacocking" type of gym environment and are looking for a place that has many options for health and wellness in a positive and inspiring environment, then this is the place.  It's a great mix of ages, genders and fitness levels.  Check out their website for a full schedule that they keep updated daily.
