Please stay away from these people, they are very unprofessional, inconsiderate to your personal situation and unwilling to produce any source of status on your case.  Since April of last year, to my knowledge and no proof otherwise, nothing has been done on my case.  Then in February 2022, I found out that I a involved in identity theft when they received my transcript for 2020 to file my taxes.  Ms. Pen who prepared the returns advised me of the unemployment income appearing on my 2020 transcript and was told to sign this return with this income to be in compliance, I refused to sign the return since this was not MY income during 2020.  Therefore, I refuse to pay anymore to TRA for services unrendered as far as no satisfaction of service from these people.  I have had at least (3) consultants and 2 other people who originally I had and they since left.  Also, I requested the name of the attorney on my case and was given 1 name initially and then no name when I asked to speak to the attorney,  and they refused to transfer me to speak to the assigned no-name attorney.  I really don't think an attorney ever contacted the IRS on my behalf since last June when I started paying installments.  It seems all other reviews  from other customers have been similar....to some degree, no service, no status, no attorney help, no processed correct returns and no calls return or otherwise since March 2022.  STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE... This company uses fake reviews and will threaten the people who leave bad reviews with not getting their resolution completed in a timely manner then will drag it out until you complain again and the process starts over again. My case has been open for 18 months with zero resolution, I've called the IRS and they've told me the only thing they've done regarding the resolution is submit a financial form i could have done myself over the phone. This company is nothing but a call center who will keep forwarding you to the next person until you give up, theres no actual "enrolled IRS agent" that you can speak to or anything but supposedly have one somewhere. Stay far, far away.  I had several years of back taxes to be filed. Pretty simple. Started good.  Got the paperwork to them.  Then they disappeared.  It has been incredibly stressful working with this company.  They dont meet deadlines.  And now, because they also dont know CA tax code and so didnt file my CA taxes properly I now have my wages garnished.  I am happy to speak directly with anyone who would like to know more about working with this company. Update- i reached out to the owner George for an update and he told me his "tax pro" was trying to get ahold of the collections company pioneer but could not get through. I called and got through with zero wait and was informed they no longer collect for the IRS. After i told George he told me to stop calling these companies because i could ruin the resolution. Today i got a call from my case manager and was told they spoke to the IRS and the best they can do is 900 a month after they told me 425 4 months ago. Before i even called TRA the IRS was willing to do 800 a month, i should have just settled then. They can do absolutely nothing for you that you cant do yourself. Ive asked for all of my money back, its a shame because i am going through escrow now for the house im renting and it now will fall through because these guys failed to set up my plan as promised and i will have to move. Update, I've finally got them to assign a new case manager last week and still have no update on the resolution, said she will get back to me today but then I called at 4 after not hearing anything and she said she cant get ahold of anyone. She said she will call Friday with an answer and i will write an update.Ive also sent my tax statements to them to file my taxes because the resolution supposedly came with one year of tax preparation and monitoring. I sent them my tax forms 4 days ago and after calling to check the status have been notified by my case manager Amber that they will not be filing them unless I remove my yelp review (here we go again) Im not surprised and will have pay H&R block to file them now. Awful company.Their communication is non existent. I expressed issues about a state tax only to have to go to another company to get the answer. .. Josh my case manager has not contacted me in over a week about the state wanting to levy MY HOUSE. Obviously my wellbeing is not of their concern. From start to finish they did everything they promised.James Virant my Settlement Officer was the first person I encountered via phone and from the start of this process everything we spoke about has been followed through with, and I could not be more pleased with how this process went! James is very professional, and he took the time to answer every single question I had. Last week TRA asked for a deposit of $600 which I charged to my credit card. I only owe the IRS $30,000, but when I talked to Jesse Prieto today, he told me the projected amount I will owe the IRS is $47,000 because I did not file 2020. I told him I did file 2020 and that I've always filed every year, except, of course, 2021. He asked for another $6,500 to solve my IRS problem. I don't know if they can really do that, so I can't say for sure if they can do exactly what they say they can do -- and that is to drastically reduce the amount I owe the IRS and to stop them from putting a lien on my house. So...you expect tax prepares to know the tax code, in particular with regard to the state you and they are in.  I had TRA file several years of taxes -- see my other reviews on how that went.  Spoiler alert.  Not good.  Today I receive a "Final Notice Before Levy and Lien."  I think -- no way.  I just filed the 2018 taxes.  I spoke with the woman with the tax board and it turns out that when TRA did my 2018 taxes (I lived in CO but had a home/mortgage in CA) they should have also filed a tax return in CA, which, of course, they did not.I really hope this company has good malpractice insurance.  With everything that went wrong with my account, I can't imagine how many mistakes they make on others.I am hoping that they make this right.  I have 5 days to get this sorted out.Seriously....this company is to be avoided. You really want to stay clear of this place. I posted an honest review today and they promptly had Yelp remove it. Why don't you spend that energy fixing your business instead? I originally contacted them months ago to discuss my financial situation and ask for a quote. Spent a long time doing that, and they never got back to me. I called, they promised a call back and that never happened. And honestly my financial situation isn't very complex anyway.I decided to give them another chance and called again today, and I dealt with a very rude woman who quite literally hung up on me. All because I was asking to meet in person before sharing my social security over the phone (which you should never EVER do, and they should, or MUST, know that).So there you have it. Shady. Rude. And unprofessional. Update: 3 months later still nothing from the IRS regarding payment arrangement or anything, the only reason i changed to 3 stars is because my case manager called after my review posted and instructed me to change the rating and they will get moving on my case. Nothing has changed here on my end, has been well over a year now that a paid them over $3k cash in full. I was very careful to ask all the questions in advance before giving them $5500 to work on my case.  I went through a divorce and had to chose to either pay my taxes or feed my kids and keep them in the house.  I finally became financially stable and looked for help to get my taxes right.  I spoke to Brandon Melara and asked about the process.  After I gave the initial $995 to review my case, Brandon assured me that all LEVY's would be stopped during the 2-3 week investigation.  3 plus weeks later Brandon called me and assured me that their investigation had gone "VERY WELL" and that TRA had solutions for me.  I, again voiced all my concerns at their office.  My concerns were if all my back taxes (state & Federal) will be addressed, that my LEVY's would be halted during the process and if the additional $4500 will be the total payment since they had already done their "investigation".  Brandon assured me that yes the LEVY's were stopped during the process and that yes the $5500 would cover all expenses.  After being reassured about those concerns I proceeded to deposit an insurance check from a total loss of  a vehicle.  That was LEVIED by the STate Franchise Tax Board.  I needed that money to purchase a replacement vehicle and now I am screwed without a vehicle!  Brandon told me that I would be contacted by my case manager in 2 days from paying ($5500) in full and where I am over 1 week later and no call from anyone. I don't know where to start at. I contacted the company regarding paying back Uncle Sam. Candice G. called back and when I say from day one, she is absolutely GREAT! ! I know bugged her with all my questions and calls. She has the patience and communication skills that no other has. She is AWESOME-SAUCE!! Fast forward to the resolution. She told me the bad knees of what I would owe for the years I didn't file versus what they were able to settle for with the IRS. I am a current client of TRAdvocates and have so far had a terrible experience. My representative Michael Yanez and his Assistant Daryion is the worst batch of representatives I have ever had to work with in my life! I have been paying on time for over a year now and just received a tax levy notice in the mail from the IRS. Mind you, this company is supposed to cease tax garnishment and levy letters! Every time I try contacting Michael and his assistant they ignore my calls, text and never respond to my voicemails or emails. I called early yesterday and luckily got Daryion who showed no care in the world about my levy problem. I asked to speak to a Manager which he advised name is Ramona Ashley. She was supposed to call me after her meeting. The call never happened. I have tried calling texting and emailing asking about the call back and Daryion and Michael of course never responds. I am now in a bad situation because I thought this service I am paying into each month was supposed to take care of levy's and get my claim processed. It has been over a year and I am in the same boat I was in when I began. I could have just made arrangements with the IRS had I known this company was going to take my money and assign me to people who does not do their job properly. Still the same issues and running around. Since than they switch case managers. Who Davinte was very attentive. I just keep getting the run around sales pitch. I've asked for over 8 weeks for a copy of my tax return which they say they filed on Sept 11. They did file 2020 but nothing on 2019. After 7 emails nobody was responding.  These emails were followed up by v/m and texts for a 6 week span. Until I emailed the Tax preparation girl Maria who by far I she best one from anyone I've ever spoken too. She just gets paid to do taxes and she does her job. She just informed me they needed information for 2019 which no one had told me. Even yesterday Davinte said we filed and we just got them rejected. Which is a lie. These case managers have no clue and just are just excuse and paper pushers. Again DO NOT GO HERE FOR SERVICE. SHAME ON GO COUNTRY FOR ALLOWING THIS PAID ADVERTISING TO DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD. Update, my case manager called me and has set up a payment plan thats a little higher than i would have hoped for but it is what it is. The IRS quoted me $790 a month and TRA got it down to $425. From my understanding they're getting some late fees and penalties taken off but its not like im going to end up paying pennies on the dollar or anything like that. I was informed I will receive a letter in the mail from the IRS as soon as its approved and will update as soon as its all finalized. More...

BEWARE OF TAX RELIEF ADVOCATES!As a current client of TRA, I'm extremely disappointed in TRA (to say the least) at every step in the process. I was helped initially by Thomas Deweese, who seems to embody that "coffee is for closers" scene from GlenGarry GlenRoss. He's a used car salesman through and through and will not offer help even though he claims he'll be there with me every step of the way. Nov 2020 I first started paying installments for their discovery/investigation. Then in Feb 2021 I signed the contract and TRA helped me get financing for the $4500 in services I signed up for, needing help with an IRS and FTB issue that came about from an old business. I'd been paying monthly, on time, but hadn't heard anything for months when I started asking for updates in writing. And this is where the constant gaslighting started- When I started asking for updates. I found out my taxes were not filed on time, and still have not been filed (Oct 2021) and every time I ask for an update on work done so far, they try to get me on the phone so they can have zero accountability. Mr Deweese keeps saying I'll "have something by the day's end" but that was months ago. After not hearing for them for months, a charge went through on my account, overdrafting it. This was a charge they meant to run months previous but didn't, so they just did it out of the blue with no warning or confirmation. This started the unraveling of my trust in them. I've been paying for 11 months and have received ZERO UPDATE and NO ACTION on my case. My case manager Davonte Young continues trying to only speak over the phone after I request an update in writing of the work done so far.I was vulnerable and in need of help and this company took full advantage of that.
