Wow, what a great place. Staff is so friendly and helpful. This was our 2nd visit here after we decided we'd been dogless too long and needed to fill an empty spot in our lives. We found our "new" 10-yr-old sweetie pie of a doggie girl! We got background info on how she ended up there. We got info about her health and current diet, and advice about how best to acclimate her to her new home. And...we got a discount because I'm a senior! Clean, surprisingly quiet place to look for a pet. You will have to fill out paperwork and be approved before you can spend time with any of the delightful furry and sometimes non-furry pets, so don't make promises to the little ones.

They take care of all of the animals who go there. It's clean and the staff is nice. They're a No kill shelter which is important because it's not fair to put down any animal for reasons other than if they're physically suffering. Love this place!

I was a cat cuddler and greeter at Sonoma Humane when I lived in Sebastopol. Everyone that works and volunteers there really cares about these rescues. I adopted my darling Marcello there. It is a well run, clean, gorgeous facility. Forget-Me-Not Farm has a wonderful youth program. The Humane Society of Sonoma County is the heartbeat of the community. More...

The facility is immaculate! The low cost veterinary service is outstanding and the most amazing veterinarian and assistants are on staff. They are very caring and truly care and support the health of the animals that come there. My dog hates the vet, but really enjoys visits there. The care she receives from them is notch and they work to make sure I have everything she needs including flea meds for my cats. Im grateful to have found them! More...

GOD BLESS YOU FOR taking my little 'Zorro', part Jack Russel, part Chiquaqua (sp?). I loved him so much but was dealing with the loss of my companion of 25 yrs dying and also the loss of my home and transitioning into SSI FOR a disability I had been forced to work with while enduring excruciating pain for the past 40+ yrs Finally I could. Oops t my benefits and retire but it meant that while waiting for a judge to decide my date, I would have to live in a women's shelter where I could not bring. My companion animal, I was told. So with the help of Amy Appleton from SHARE SONOMA COUNTY, SHE secured a place with you where he could get addl training so he could be a helper dog for another senior. Ready Pp. 13 yrs old, my little ZOZO helpless me to walk Gain after meniscus surgery and I sZ hoping I'd still ha e him when I had to undergo a total knee replacement. It that wasn't in the cards. I re did we him from. Friend when he was only 5 weeks old and proceeded to train him to Come, sit, stay etc while recovering from Torn meniscus surgery. He was my little angel sent from God above and I hope that when u recvd him from me that users a le to go e the little. It of addl training to help him to be able to assist another person, like myself. I was so glad to know he would not be put down. At the very least, I hoped he might be able to enjoy a little retirement of his own son s his age was beginning too show a bit. A little back pain of his own from time to time, I would notice. He worked hard and loved hard too. He was also companion to my wheelchair bound Companion so was used to. Ding around the disabled already. Anyway, THANK YOU for giving him another life and love. I've had surgery in two of my dogs & the experience was not stressful. The vet was fabulous. All of the staff are great. I was kept informed re: status of my pets at all times. The costs are very reasonable & on a sliding scale if you qualify for income cap. I have & will continue to refer people to go there. Dr Ada Norris is fabulous. FYI: They cut pet nails at no cost. This is a great facility which has a vet, does pet training classes, and pets to adopt. They keep it clean, with individual enclosures for pets which also alone you to meet them in a comfortable and safe environment.

We adopted Jedi about 4 weeks ago from here. I was really excited to see how much they adored him and felt very happy to see how excited they were that he was being adopted. To be honest, I felt guilty for taking him away from the volunteers and staff. The staff went over everything with us & I was pleasantly surprised about being given a month supply of food and asked if we needed any other supplies. We recently adopted a sweet senior kitty, Gracie just before Christmas. What a sweetheart and she is settling right in to her fur-ever home. My experience with the SR Humane Society was AMAZING!
