What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to capture a property, project, or landscape from a perspective that most people never get to see. Every flight is a chance to combine technical skill with creativity—whether I’m mapping a site, inspecting a roof, or producing high-quality aerial imagery. What I enjoy most is delivering clear, accurate visuals that help clients make better decisions, save time, and see the bigger picture. What inspired you to start your own business?
I started SkyTrace Drones to bring professional-grade aerial services to clients who need accuracy, reliability, and FAA-compliant operations. As a licensed fixed-wing pilot since 2013 and a Part 107 drone operator, I saw how often businesses struggled to find skilled, insured pilots who could deliver consistent, high-quality data. Building my own company allows me to maintain high standards, use top-tier equipment, and provide the level of service I would want if I were the customer.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes. Most of my services can be handled remotely with no need for the client to be onsite. Once project details and the site location are confirmed, I can complete the aerial work independently and deliver high-quality photos, videos, maps, or inspection data through a secure online link. I also offer virtual consultations, project planning support, and remote data reviews to ensure clients get exactly what they need without interrupting their schedule.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Safety and minimal contact have always been part of drone operations, and I’ve strengthened those practices to support customer health. Nearly all aspects of the job—from project scoping to data delivery—are handled digitally. Onsite, I operate independently outdoors, maintain social distancing, and avoid entering client facilities unless absolutely required. Equipment is sanitized regularly, and all communication and file transfers are completed electronically for a smooth, contact-free experience.

Additional Services & Travel
Additional add-ons, including aerial photography, enhanced editing, and custom deliverables for construction inspection or thermal imaging, are available upon request. For projects located more than 60 minutes from Plainfield, IL, a travel surcharge of $50 per additional hour will be applied.
