Signature Design Interiors

We hired Janet Aurora of Signature Design Interiors to help us design and furnish our living room and master bedroom in our new house. The process was very straightforward, and we absolutely LOVE the finished product. Janet was instrumental in helping us to figure out how to configure the spaces, and she made furniture selections that were stylish but also comfortable and functional for our family. She has a great eye for detail and helped us with the other aspects of designing the rooms, including selecting and installing window treatments and shades, decorating built-in bookshelves, etc. We had a very loose vision of our style heading into the project, and Janet helped us to narrow and refine what we were looking for, without letting us get overwhelmed by too many competing options. Thanks to Janet’s assistance, these two rooms quickly went from totally empty to two of our favorite rooms in the house, and the ones that garner the most compliments from guests. Signature Design Interiors worked with us on helping to pick out furniture, lighting and accessories for our screened in porch. They listened to what we wanted in terms of the usability of the space, look and feel. Our beautiful table made from Local Wood in Berryville, gorgeous centerpiece chandelier, and great furniture layout from Offenbachers for the living area and dining chairs is working beautifully. The blue, yellow and cream/gray color scheme all came together and is versatile over time. It has the right balance of modern, Asian, and integrates all the ideas we discussed with them! We have been very fortunate to work with Janet on designing our living room, dining room, entry, and home offices. She integrated existing furniture seamlessly into the designs, started from scratch in other rooms, and nevertheless made the entire home feel like a cohesive whole. She came up with a plan that was consistent with my overall scheme but at the same time, fresh and interesting. This was our first experience using a design firm. It was time to replace our worn couch and easy chair. We had recently moved from a home that had both a living room and a family room, to our current home that combined the two. We were seeking a look that had "flair" that would also be comfortable. We couldn't be happier with the results.

Our designer, Janet, brought multiple samples (fabrics for upholstery and curtains, rug and paint samples) assembled with different looks in the colors we were seeking. Janet worked up several designs for furniture groups, and we settled on both the colors and the grouping.

I have never used a professional designer before. I ontacted Janet Aurora and one other designer and decided to use Janet I was all over the place with what I wanted. Janet was very patient as I expressed y desire for something "fun". It didn't matter to her that I changed my mind as todiretion several times and then came back to her original suggestions!

Sandra and Gina where a wonderful, attentive team, who took care of every detail of our kitchen project. We had grand, crazy ideas, strong opinions, and a hectic environment (kids, dogs, schedule). We absolutely could not be happier with the outcome of our project. We hired this company to do a floorplan and furniture for our new remodeled family/living room. Janet did a great job with the floorplan, and helping us select almost all new furnishings, window treatments, rugs, paint, and some accessories. We are really pleased with the result. Our new space looks amazing, Janet has excellent taste, and really listened to what we wanted. She doesn't live far from us, and very generously met us at our house in the evenings. I recently completed a home decoration project with Signature Design Interiors and highly recommend them for your project. I moved into a loft style condo with 11-foot ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and exposed concrete columns but my existing furniture was very southern traditional.

Janet Aurora was fantastic to work with and helped me make maximum the use of my existing furniture but still achieve the modern design I wanted for my new place. Janet came to my previous home to measure and inventory my existing furniture and met my realtor to measure my new home before I closed on it. She developed several design options with various price levels to work within my budget. All the options were presented in scale and placed in the floorplan of my condo.

Janet was very flexible and integrated some pieces I purchased outside of her company. She was also fantastic working with my art school in Chicago daughter, one of her more opinionated customers. My daughter attended most of our meetings via FaceTime but she was blown away by the finished product when she came home to visit this week.

There are several reasons I recommend Signature Design Interiors: (1) their process for design, layout, and creating options; (2) the quality of the furniture I purchased; (3) their willingness to integrate existing furnishings and even new furniture not purchased through them; (4) their ability to work within your budget; and (5) their people. Janet helped me from April - August 2016 to decorate my new row house in DC. I started without any furniture and Janet worked with me to systematically move through the house from dining room to living room, two bedrooms, and TV den. She was excellent at bringing me options and styles that matched my tastes, fit in with the exposed brick and flooring already in the house, and were available quickly (given I was already living in an empty house). She managed all the logistics, purchasing, delivery, and installation - and it was great to come home from work trips and vacation to brand new additions in the house. She also did a great job working with the wall art and accessories I already had while adding a few more to complement. We were very pleased working with Janet of Signature Design Interiors. The company was originally used to help with a paint color consultation. We liked Janet's design style so we continued to use the companies services for a facelift of our kitchen, entryway, and bedroom. She handled all of the scheduling with the contractors for us. Janet Aurora helped us turn our intimidating family room into a beautiful and comfortable living space. We designed the room from scratch, provided her with bits and pieces of information regarding what we liked and needed in the room and she was able to completely transform it into something we absolutely love.
The second larger project was the home office design. Janet patiently worked with us and guided us until we were totally happy with all of our choices of furniture, fabric, rug, and paint color. The office turned out gorgeous, we love working in there, we love the storage space it provides, we love the elegant colors and how everything ties together beautifully. It's perfect!
Janet is extremely knowledgeable, professional, very patient, excellent listener and really fun to work with.
She never rushes you and is not hesitant to go back to the drawing board on something, if needed. She carefully guides you to make good choices always listening to your needs and desires. Several times in this process I know I could have made design mistakes and she was there to save me. She is always there to provide her expertise and opinion if you need help deciding something. Helped turn a new house into a home; new furniture, window treatments, carpeting, and overall organizing.

Moved from a three story townhouse to one mostly set-up on one floor (there's a loft/third bedroom on second floor) in a gated, over-55, community. Janet Aurora, my decorator, figured-out how to turn a cavernous great room in a living space. She was gracious, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with.

I had just finished remodeling my kitchen and I needed window coverings and cushions for my new bench seating. Crystal provided great design ideas. I had several choices and picked the shape I liked best. We then reviewed fabrics and she was wonderful in helping me decide. It is really difficult to know how things will look, but having someone with experience and the ability to show you the design you picked in a digital picture was a great help! I could not be more pleased with how beautiful the shape, colors, and fabric turned out! I had a bench seat that needed cushions and we added pillows. All of the fabric choices were different but all of them complemented each other and the rest of my house wonderfully! Crystal really knows her stuff. My husband and I had chosen a contractor to complete a renovation of our kitchen, dining room, family room and master bathroom. Early into the relationship we realized we needed expert design assistance. We had actually used Houzz.com ideabooks to communicate our style and had Janet Aurora confirm and provide input into what would ultimately work best throughout the rooms. The advice ranged from which recessed lights to use, paint colors, granite, backsplash, tile design in the bathroom, cabinet layout, to fireplace and built in cabinet designs. Janet was very responsive, helpful, easy to work with, always had our best interest in mind when working with the contractor and very knowledgeable. She was professional and worked hard for us meeting us out and about at various locations as well as at our home. The most impressive moments we had working with Janet were when she was able to help us resolve an electrical outlet placement issue in the kitchen that saved the day, provided bathroom tile and kitchen backsplash sketches to guide the contractors, and many times provided a level head in discussions around problem solving. Janet worked with me and my husband to decorate multiple rooms in our new home. I enjoyed the collaborative process of decorating with Janet. She pays close attention to what her clients say, their budget and deadlines, and executes with the appropriate amount of influence in a timely manner.

Janet is a great listener -- she took the time to hear our vision, look at the images we had picked up, and then provided relevant feedback on our vision to ensure we were being rational and thoughtful about what we wanted. Once we discussed vision, she provided several good options to select from that were all within our budget. If nothing spoke to us, Janet gladly looked for other options. I appreciated that Janet would call manufacturers in advance of providing an option to ensure items were available within a reasonable amount of time. We never utilized an interior decorator and really did not know what to expect but once we met Crystal Cline we just "connected"; she made us feel extemely comfortable, confident and excited about decorating our new home. We were introduced to various paint colors, furniture types, fabrics for window treatments and seat coverings, light fixtures, mirrors, wall decorations and area rugs; it was truly a learning experience and Crystal was always there to assist us with her knowledge, positive attitude and effervescent personality.

We moved into a new house with a open plan on the first floor and needed assistance with rugs and furniture that would fit with the design of the kitchen as well as the rest if the house. I wanted the room to have more of a formal feel but functional and kid-friendly. We worked with Connie Sims, who was fantastic. She understood my style and what I was looking for, while at the same time helped me think a little outside of my normal "comfort" zone and we ended up with furniture and a room that we love.
