Shelley is amazing. She could nearly train my golden Micah to talk. Micah was also socialized by Shelley resulting in him being the most popular dog at our dog park. . He's so gentle especially while playing with small dogs. Micah loves Shelley. He's like putty when anyone holds him including our vet. Micah can be touched anywhere  I credit Shelley for this. LOVE Shelley @North County Dog Training! There is something about her that dogs just connect with. My shy/scared dog took to Shelley within 3 minutes of walking through the door. It was amazing. Shelley taught me so much in just the first session that I was able to move forward with my dogs and huge changes were made right off the bat. On top of all that…she really loves her clients. Shelley has always been available to me for hints, suggestions, and lots of encouragement and praise for me and my dogs. Shelley is the ONLY trainer I would go to and the only one I would recommend. Our family adopted a cute four year old boxer-beagle mix from a rescue two moths ago and were struggling with major behavior issues. With in the first two days of having him, he attacked our neighbors dog and broke through every screen in our house. He would pull and lung when walked, he was just was a terror. We were heartbroken. Until we found Shelly! After only working with her for a short period of time, we have seen HUGE changes in our dog. She has given our whole family, kids included, the tools to train our dog together. We are walking our dog and he's not walking us!!!!! We are grateful for Shelly and can't wait to see more changes!!! More...

I was looking for information, on training a service dog myself. I sent a note to Shelley Sloane and I actually got an answer. She was able to put a name to something my lab started doing, "Deep Pressure Therapy". I have Multiple Sclerosis and when my 80lb laid on me, while I was having major muscle spasms, they magically disappeared. The Head and Weight helped with my pain management. She also gave me ideas on how to train my dog on continuing doing this. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! More...

I had the pleasure of working with Shelley in the selection of a puppy for seizure response training. I couldn't have been more pleased with the basic skills Sunshine had when I picked her up from the Center and the advancement of skill sets she's acquired over the past several months here at home. Shelley has remained a great resource for me along the way and I would highly recommend her and Shadalane to anyone looking for a quality dog. More...

Shadalane Golden Retrievers responsibly breeds litters at a low volume. They are very detail oriented and make sure to get OFA tests done on all of their breeding dogs and have an extensive ethical contract for the safety of their puppies. Aside from that, Alan truly cares about each and every one of his puppies and their future owners. When, I took my trained dog home, he got choked up and teary eyed saying goodbye. My dog was bred and trained by Alan, and he is the best dog I have ever met (biased of course). But people constantly ask me where I got him and how I got him to be so calm and sweet. He is steady and calm in every situation, but has a great happy and playful personality. He is also strikingly beautiful and is complimented everywhere we go. If I get another golden, I won't go anywhere but Shadalane. I also plan to send any puppy I have to Alan for training because I've been so happy with my dog. I should also add that my dog became a certified therapy dog on his second birthday because 2 y/o was the minimum age for our organization. He has successfully given love to people all over the country for 5 years now. And I don't think it would have been possible if it weren't for Alan's great breeding and training. More...

My son Connor was turned down for a service dog because he is severely developmentally delayed, non-verbal, and might be a little loud and rough. Our son’s doctor recommended Shadalane because her beloved dog was bred and trained there. Shadalane could not have been any kinder to us. Allan analyzed our needs and placed a gorgeous, healthy, patient dog with us. Amy is so calm and loving with Connor. She is so well trained we didn’t know she could bark for the first year. She has never jumped up on anyone. I love her so much and she was worth every penny!!! Thank you so much Shadalane for our amazing dog More...

Shelley has worked with our puppy in training to become a therapy dog, and while she doesnt offer the therapy classes, she teaches the prerequisite classes like AKA CGC which we just proudly passed yesterday! :)The other dogs in the class had already passed the course prior to our joining and were working on Community Dog classes. They will be taking their test next week and even though we were not enrolled in that class, we have learned so much so she suggesting we take the test too with them. The activities were helpful, fun, and things we could practice in our daily life to be an awesome two heart, 6 legged team :)She is a great trainer, a sweet person, and I'm glad she trained us. Shelly is amazing and you can tell she really cares about the dogs she trains. My husband and I got our first puppy, Oso, an 8 week chocolate labrador, and we're feeling a little lost. Shelly came over on a Sunday and helped by answering the million questions we had and began working with Oso and us. We had peace of mind in the short time we meet with her. She is worth every penny and we look forward to more lessons with her! More...

If there were more trainers like the ones over at North County, I bet the shelters would have allot less pups in them! They have the answers for everything that could possible go wrong in the Human-Dog relationship. Their classes are warm and inviting to both handler and pet, and never are they uncomfortable. I HIGHLY recommend North county to ANY owner! More...
