I recently hired Shawn the Magician for my husband's 60th birthday party, and I cannot recommend him highly enough! My husband saw Shawn at a conference and was so blown away that he asked if we could hire Shawn for our wedding. I was admittedly skeptical at first since I had never heard of a magician being at a wedding but I quickly came around to the idea and I am so so glad we hired Shawn! Shawn was so responsive and helpful throughout the planning process and he told us that he loves doing weddings cause he goes around to groups of people that often times is their first time meeting, does a trick or two for them, and then leaves them with this shared experience to chat about oh my GOODNESS was that true! Seeing Shawn’s tricks myself, as well as watching our guests be blown away by them was one of my favorite things about our wedding day- and there were a LOT of really wonderful things that day! I first witnessed Shawn's performance at a business conference in Colorado while attending a post-conference happy hour sponsored by one of the hosting companies. From what I have seen, his magic is a little different than what you may think of with a traditional "magic shows". There were upwards of 80-100 people at the party and he was performing trick for groups of 3-8 at a time. Needless to say, I was thoroughly captivated - enough so that I asked if he had ever performed at weddings as I had one coming up in less than 6 months. Thankfully he said yes, and within a couple of days we had booked him for our wedding. Initial conversations about what we were looking for were very straightforward and the physical process of booking him for our special day could not have been easier. A week prior to the event he reached out to confirm details which was also very helpful as it saved us time in having to reach out ourselves. The actual performance at the wedding was EXCELLENT!!! We had around 130 guests and based off what I heard everyone was able to get a trick (or several). We received several compliments after the event that his presence during cocktail hour was phenomenal. What might go overlooked is that his magic gave folks who may not have known each other previously an outlet to connect through a shared experience. Worth every penny! More...
