What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Comfort would probably be the biggest thing. The more comfortable the client is with me and my camera, the more authentic they can be. They'll be able to try no poses with no judgement and just express themselves as who they really are. This is why I also advise my clients to have a phone call with me before hiring just so we can get to know each other a little bit before meeting in person.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Some common questions might be include:
What is the purpose for this shoot? What do you want the images to convey? Who are the photos for?
What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting new people and capturing important moments in their lives. For weddings, I think its such a privilege to be allowed access into these personal events of their lives and given permission to document it for them. For other events or regular portrait work, I think its still such a privilege that I'm allowed to capture these moments in time for them and help them tell whatever story it is they're after. Whether its to capture the achievement of graduating from college, or taking photos for a restaurant menu, I take pride in telling my client's stories the way they want them to be told.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Photography was really just a hobby for me coming out of high school, but then I went into college and a friend of mine who was graduating from UCI asked me if I could take her graduation photos. I had such a great time and from there many others started asking if I could take theirs. After that first initial year of graduation photos, I just fell in love with the process of photography and decided I should try to pursue this as a full time job.

Clients should choose me because I care deeply about the quality of work that I provide. Many photographers outsource some parts of their work to help optimize their processes and I think it does make sense in some instances so long as the quality of their work isn't compromised. I fall into a different boat. If you hire me, I handle everything from start to finish. I'll be the one responding to your emails, taking your photos, culling those photos, editing those photos, and curating them for your online gallery. I don't take any shortcuts and take great pride in all the work that I deliver.
