Loved the moist brisket, pork ribs,coleslaw, sweet potatoes and jalapeño cornbread.  Also had the pork ribs.  Everything was delicious.  Meat was seasoned very well and very tender.  Huge serving of everything.  Very reasonably priced as well.  The 2 guys working were helpful when I couldn't decide what to order in offering suggestions.  I was even offered a sample of the collared greens which was good but not my personal favorite (nothing about theirs).  They also were helpful in offering up different sauces and description of each as well as letting me try all of them.  I ended up taking home the spicy.  Not extreme but just right.  Nice looking salad bar.  I have them 4 stars because some of the food didn't look too fresh.  I am assuming that it was due to the lateness of the day.  They were also out of the creamed corn that I read about in other reviews and sorry that they didn't have it.  They did offer regular corn and butter instead which was a thoughtful option.  Very enjoyable meal. Good food, plenty of it and reasonably priced. This is our second time here and it's just as good as the first time. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, the jalapeño cornbread is yummy, and their Sweet N Smokey sauce is the bomb!  Love this place!!

I'm staying not far from Webster - a community that used to call itself "The Gateway To NASA and The Bay Area" - and on Highway 3 there's this little storefront barbecue place called Randy's. Now, I and a friend have been comparing stories about Texas barbecue places so after driving past this place enough times I decided to stop in.Simply put, this is one of the best VALUES in Texas barbecue. Randy's has a one-meat plate with two sides and a piece of bread for just $9.95. That is several dollars less than my favorite place, The Pit Room. If you want a good-sized meal on the cheap, you will have a hard time beating Randy's.That said, I feel the quality of Randy's barbecue isn't on par with the other more elite places like The Pit Room or Pinkerton's. They do smoke their brisket, but it doesn't taste nearly as smoky. When I have to reach for a salt shaker to liven up the flavor, that's a letter grade off right there.Randy's has great green beans - cooked in butter and bacon. That may sound revolting to "oil-o-phobes" but I was delighted. The collard greens seemed to be cooked the same way but weren't as good - the flavor didn't hit my palate the way greens steeped in pork would have been.I was surprised that - at least on the day I swung by - there was no potato salad as a side. Most Texas BBQ places have that as a standard. ***UPDATE: THEY DO HAVE POTATO SALAD! Mustard and mayonnaise varieties! Good stuff!They did have beans, as expected, so you bean lovers will likely love that.For a place that's not in the heart of the city of Houston, Randy's does quite well. It certainly is better than its competition just a short distance away, Ryan's. And it's a no-brainer over commercial places like Dickey's.Still, if Randy's can get their brisket a little smokier, I'll stop by more often. In Houston for work for the day so we stopped in. From San Antonio, so I've had all kinds of excellent bbq. Randy's was so GOOD! Went in with absolutely zero expectations and was blown away. Ordered the 2 meat dinner, and their lean brisket was so moist! I've rarely had that from any bbq joint. Sides were great as well as the bbq sauce. We go to Randy's at least once a week. The brisket, ribs, and turkey are our favorites. Although, the baked potato with chicken is good too! Got the brisket & ribs to go. They made the car smell so wonderful, that I had to try them on the way back to the hotel. Because, reheated ribs & brisket just aren't the same. The brisket was tender & had a good char on the outside. It was tender, but lacked that smoke ring that I am accustomed to. The ribs were tender and had a strong smoky flavor to them. Today was not one of my best days and as morning turned into afternoon I had gotten hungry I looked at my dog like what is for lunch and with blank stares and also the same hungry look in his little eyes  i knew he was waiting on something good. So as we pondered a wonderful smoky smell enters my patio door and our light bulbs went off...RANDYS BBQ from down the street! RIBS , tangy bbq sauce, POTATO SALAD AND BBQ BEANS!! So off we went to get a take out and fill our bellies. We enjoyed every bit too! Got the 3 pork ribs with two sides and the meat was so tender and juicy falling off the bones. The place is an old, unrenovated, with great relics on the wall, a perfect old fashioned western BBQ Joint. Most tables are all together for German style biergarten dining. The food is plentiful every time I come. I have two teenage boys who can EAT! and they are full when we leave. Prices are reasonable We like the taste of everything. We come here all the time for the bbq. It's quiet and spacious and rarely busy. It's easy to order and eat quickly which is super important with kids. The food is very good and we really like the sweet smokey sauce though the regular sauce is very good as well. Tonight I brought my sons to try their burgers. I was very pleased. I am super picky about BBQ and Brisket. Randy's is now my new favorite!  The lean brisket is Exactly perfect and tender and the house bbq sauce is tangy.  The mustard potato salad is exactly how my grandma used to make it. I'm a repeat customer and have been for years! I'm on the keto diet so having really yummy brisket, pork, sausage and ribs is perfect! ! The (moist) brisket is truly that! It is the fatty of the two brisket choices. I have never tried the less fat option. They offer samples of any of the meats to try. The place smells amazing upon walking through the door! The guys that work behind the counter and always polite and helpful. My kids are thrilled anytime I bring home barbecue from Randy's! My Daughter loves the ribs. I find the prices to be reasonable. This is our go to BBQ place. Love the smoked chicken, sausage, brisket. I accidentally ordered the chopped beef ( my fault). I didn't get a chance to try their other items, but I certainly enjoyed myself.I am a major brisket fiend, and that is what cost them a 5 star review. The edges were really burnt and the meat kind of dry, but the sauce was delicious. The meat wasn't so dry as to be a deterrent for me. I chased it with my drink anyhow.I also had corn and sweet potato on the side. They were great! The corn had a slight buttery taste and the potatoes were so sweet, like candy. Although that was all good, I still had to get a peach cobbler. I leave it in a word: yummy.I was overall not expecting the sort of cafeteria take they did with the restaurant. Poor service guy had to tell me to grab a tray. D'oh!However, the cook/cashier was super nice and patient with me. Overall, good experience. Ive been eating here almost everyday since last August and I havent had anything I didnt like. First, the ribs that are done perfect, easily fork tender but no sauce. ..so you can pick which one of their different awesome sauces you want but I even like em without sauce. Then there's the specials...pork loin...meat loaf...pork chops...and I love their chicken and dumplings. All of very tasty and fills you up. This place is so good I really didn't want to give away the secret  but the ribs are the best chew in Texas I love the gourmet burgers yes they are perfect ! They have a variety of homemade desserts and bbq sauces to taste with and the brisket is the best in Texas.  I love the decor it's so Texas totems carved and giant snake skins along with a fox to greet you and saddles but the food is seriously good and I rank it number one in the area as far as bbq More...

Just served Randy's chopped beef at a party and the crowd loved it. Ordered by phone from Randy and found him to be very helpful and courteous. Randy's is under new management (a Mr Jihan Jaouhari) and the place has gotten a bit better this year. Â Ribs used to occasionally be a bit dry; seems to have fixed that. Â Plus they've fixed the broken drink machine, they're keeping the relish bar stocked. Â On the other hand, they took down my favorite cartoon - that always hung by the register - of Garfield barbecuing an owl.I usually get the ribs. Â There's a lot of stiff competition here about, but they do a decent entry. Â Pretty tender, rich flavor. Â I eat here every few months with a group of guys; I'm not partial to sausage, but my friends are and they always are pleased. Â A couple decor things make Randy's stand out . They have more than adequate taxidermy for a Texas BBQ joint, including really big rattlesnake skins. Â But more than that, they have good chainsaw art. Â If you don't know chainsaw art, this is the craft of whittling a statue out of a log, using chainsaws. Â The chainsaw Indian chief is my favorite.
