Pulse Entertainment has been, hands down, one of the best and easiest vendors to work with. Beyond their work, Nick and Gary are truly kind, funny, and amazing people. We started with a phone call to discuss the contract, the venue space, what extras we could work in, and at what points of the night we would require music. From there, Nick sent a Google Form for my husband and me to fill out. Additionally, Nick suggested that a lot of couples create a playlist for the night so he could feel out our style of music. Heading into the wedding week, Nick, my husband, his emcee Gary, and I all got on a phone call. Between Nick and Gary, they shared that they would pretty much cover the flow and organization of the reception—bridal party introductions, cake cutting, etc. We talked about song choices for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. When it came to our wedding day, Nick and Gary were a dream to work with. They went above and beyond their actual duties to help me with a ripped dress, get the venue staff moving for bridal party introductions, and more. They also took song requests, which my guests loved. People were dancing both inside and out on the patio. Nick could read the room and played a bit of everything to cover the multi-generational crowd. Everyone had a blast dancing the night away—myself and my husband especially! To top it off, the photo booth Pulse included in their package was a hit and gave guests something fun to do throughout the night. Guests loved the extra perk that they could have photos emailed to them and share instantly! Most people know that all you really need for a wedding is good food and music—and Pulse Entertainment definitely had the music covered. One of my friends posted photos and stated she had a blast "dancing like it was 2009 again"! Prior to our wedding, Nick was responsive to emails, answered our questions, and was personable over the phone. We filled out Pulse’s Google Form with all of the wedding details, talked through with Nick over phone, and provided additional details like timeline over email. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Nick was unable to attend the wedding, so he notified us 2 days before the wedding that he would send his second-in-command, Jose (MC) in his place, along with Sergio (DJ). We asked for contact information and never heard back… just radio silence. On the day of the wedding, Jose and Sergio arrived with a print out of the Google form and clearly had not read it, as they began asking me basic questions about the reception, did not have the songs for our parents’ grand entrances, did not have the timeline we had sent to Nick, and did not have the father-daughter dance song. My impression from both Sergio and Jose was that Nick had not relayed any information from our calls to them, and they showed up completely unprepared. What annoyed me further was that they decided the day of my wedding was the time and place to argue with me. They claimed that it wasn’t in the form (which I then pointed them to)… When it was time for the reception grand entrances, the music was incredibly quiet and short for our parents, they mispronounced and repeated multiple names of our bridal/groom parties, and they messed up our names! Even without preparation, how hard is it for them to read off a sheet of paper????? And how do you mess up the names of the bride and groom???? After the first dance, their lack of preparation became even clearer, as our timeline indicated speeches next. Instead, they not only cut the music entirely but also announced the father-daughter dance incorrectly. This led to a really awkward situation of having to correct them in front of our guests. When it was the right time for the F-D dance, they abruptly announced it in the middle of a song while people were still dancing, and didn’t give anybody a chance to get out of the way. For the dance sets, they played FULL songs, didn’t play the genres we requested (to the point that we had to ask multiple people to go up and request songs), played 5 out of 20 of our “Must Play” songs… It was the equivalent of putting on a Spotify playlist, except the playlist wasn’t the one we picked. Multiple people asked if they could just plug the aux cord into their own phone. I would never recommend Pulse Entertainment to anyone. It is truly unbelievable to me that we provided all of the details, the songs, the timeline, the names... and they couldn’t do us the honor of simply reading it. The lack of preparation is truly unfathomable. For Nick to say that they were anything near “adequately prepared” is an incredible slap in the face after what took place on our wedding day. Two days before the wedding, Nick emailed us saying that he was unable to attend the wedding due to personal reasons and that he would be sending his second-in-command, Jose. While we were bummed, we understood and responded to Nick asking for Jose's contact information so that we could work with him to prepare for the wedding. We never got a response from Nick, so we went into our wedding with no new contact information whatsoever. The day of the wedding was a nightmare. -Second in command, Jose, and the DJ, Sergio were late and were asking very basic questions that they should already known the answer to -We had specific song requests for the grand entrance - we gave Spotify links and MP3 files to songs (which Nick said were totally fine to have). When it came time for these songs to be played, you could barely hear them. Our parents made their grand entrance in silence! -Our bridal and groom party - we wrote out the names of each group entering in addition to pronunciation (which aren't even difficult - they all have English names...). Jose not only mispronounced names but announced the incorrect names twice. All he had to do was to read off a sheet of paper, and he failed at it. -For the bride and groom entrance, he said the [Groom's first name] + [Bride's first and last name] so it sounded like my husband had taken my last name. If there are any names that you shouldn't mess up at a wedding, it is the groom and the bride! -After the grand entrance and first dance, we specifically didn't want the father daughter dance to happen right after. If he had read the timeline, this would have been clear to him. We sent the wedding timeline days before to Nick, and also sent it again to Jose earlier when they arrived. Awkwardly after the first dance, it was complete silence (what kind of DJ allows for complete silence in a reception?!), then after a long pause he said "And now we will have the father daughter dance", and we had to awkwardly tell him that we would do that later, in front of all of our guests. Completely unacceptable. -When it was the correct time for the father daughter dance, Jose very quickly announced "Now it's time for the father daughter dance" and immediately started playing the song, even though there were people on the dance floor. He should have asked people to clear the floor, given them some time to be seated, and then started the song. My father and I danced with other people still on the dance floor -For the dance sets, we requested: Pop/Top Hits of 90's, 00's & 10's/Hip Hop/K-Pop. We asked for Pop/Top Hits for the earlier part of the night, and Hip Hop/K-Pop for the later part of the night. Instead, they played Jackson 5 and top hits from the 60's... We would never recommend Pulse Entertainment to anyone. No one deserves to be so ignored on their wedding day. With the last minute switch, Nick and Jose should have ensured that there were no loose ends and were clear on what we had requested. Jose should have come prepared to the wedding. If he had further clarifying questions, he could have asked and we would have gladly answered them. We provided all of the details, the songs, the timings, the names... it was all so organized for them - they literally had to read a sheet of paper. Sergio was so unprepared for the music. The communication was horrible, the execution was horrible, and several people commented that they could have done a better job plugging in their phones and playing music from Spotify. More...

Nick had to send someone else to take his place because he wasn’t feeling well the day of, but the whole team pulled through for us and we were blown away by their skill. Nick was very easy to work with. He had several add-ons (e.g. smoke machine, bubble machine) that our venue did not allowed, but he added additional lights to compensate. He sends you a comprehensive form to answer all questions that might arise during the event, and here, you can list what to play and what not to play. From the very initial point of contact with Nick from Pulse Entertainment, right through to end of the wedding night, working with this company was a completely positive experience. I felt like I was car shopping with other companies- they were starting at a hiked up price and then they slowly would reduce it trying to get my business but make as much as they could off me. This was not the case with Pulse at all. Nick was no nonsense - offering a fair price right from the start and working with me to customize to our specific needs. I will always recommend Pulse to anyone who I know looking for a DJ with complete certainty that Nick will take treat them fairly, and also provide kick-ass services. The price was reasonable, owner and staff were super knowledgeable and helpful, and they did a great job of keeping everyone dancing all evening. They also played some Spanish music for my husband’s family, as well as some Serbian music for my family (which I wasn’t sure they’d even be able to find, since it’s not exactly common or popular lol), so everyone was happy. We had people partying until 230AM because of his DJing. He saw the vibes throughout the night and played the perfect music. I honestly do not even know where to start. At first, Nick wasn’t going to be our DJ we had a family friend doing it who bailed last minute. Nick came through immediately for us and took what was a very stressful situation and made it so seamless. Now to the night of… ABSOLUTELY UNREAL!! Our crowd was on the dance floor the entire night and it was the best night of our lives! The music was incredible, one great song after another.
