I pulled my review from 2 weeks ago now that the hotel is “done”… the bed is very comfortable and everything is shiny new. The empty corner now had a built in L-shaped seating area. It’s not that comfortable to sit in, but you can curl up nicely. Breakfast was solid and the server is great there. I still haven’t done dinner. I like the design elements and the exterior looks nicer than the pictures. Finally, the outdoor area is now open and very nice. The Pool still wasn’t open - again it is apparently unheated. So likely in mid-May. My only downside is the room is short a light on the interior /TV side. More...

The say was really only worth it for the 2 overnight girls Deja and Michaela, even at 3am they were very attentive and alert they answered any questions I and they were nice. The taller one from Lela was pure comedy with her jokes. Rooms were small and outside was closed also the hotel is not on a nice side of town so beware. More...

Thad an okay stay at this hotel everything was new and clean for the most part but the walls were on the thinner side for a "new" hotel. They did have a restaurant in the lobby area the food was delicious I got blueberry pancakes very tasty and it wasn't a long wait time (they weren't busy) with that being said our server was the older lady (Anna) I believe, and she wasn't pleasant in the slightest. It felt like she was very standoffish towards us and didn't really want to serve us. She was dull whenever she approached our table but went to other tables and was in a better mood. My husband and I felt it was a colorism thing but didn't say anything and we still tipped but for that we will not return to this hotel. If you don't like people of color you shouldn't work in the food industry where you serve different people everyday. Maybe we'll stay at tru next time and serve ourselves the free breakfast with less issues. More...

It is a brand new very modern and clean hotel. Free breakfast, the customer service was great, but my biggest complaint is how thin the ceilings are. There’s no carpeting so it exacerbates it. Even for a hotel it was loud. If you’re not on the 4th floor you will 100% get woken up by the sound of people checking out. I could hear the stomping through my noise cancelling headphones. More...

The only thing boutique about this hotel is the golf simulator. ||I was excited to try the new Tapestry Lela in Wilmington, NC, but unfortunately, it completely missed the mark. While the Tapestry brand typically offers an upscale boutique experience, this property felt more like a converted budget motel. The rooms and bathrooms were extremely small, and the website’s promise of a “large bathroom with a soaking tub” was misleading—only walk-in showers were available, and tubs were limited to handicap rooms, which were unavailable.||The room had new furniture and bedding, but not up to the usual Tapestry standard. The AC was a loud window unit, and the entire property had a strange smell—my hallway reeked of vape. There was no hand soap provided, and the toiletries were very basic, with none of the extra touches I’ve come to expect from this brand.||The courtyard pool was another letdown. It was advertised online but closed during my stay. Other hotels nearby had their pools open, so this should have been made clear ahead of time.||On a positive note, the fitness room was clean and had new equipment, though it was overrun by unsupervised teens. The hotel staff were kind and trying their best, though clearly still in training. I was locked out of my room on day two because my key was only programmed for one night.||Overall, this hotel did not deliver the boutique experience I was hoping for. It felt more like a low-end Hampton Inn than a true Tapestry Collection More...

Tru Hotel is a great place to stay! The elevators were clean, the room and bed was comfortable. The only problem was there wasn’t much of a variety at breakfast time. If you guys put omelets on the menu, then it would be great! More...

The staff were by far the worst I’ve dealt with staying at a hotel. When I wanted to ask for early check in the concierge didn’t answer the phone for 3 days and you can’t leave a voicemail. Their call center couldn’t get in touch either. Finally day-of they answered and tried to charge me to check in early without telling me there was a fee so we canceled the request. It would’ve been $75 for 1 hour early. The room was clean but there was a large gap in the door and we were across from the elevator. They said they would help then never came back so we heard the sounds all night and the light shone through. For breakfast, we waited 20 min for the hot bar and restocking (we got there at 8:45 and breakfast ends at 10) and the pancake machine was broken. No staff were around so I walked to the kitchen to find someone. The two women were SO mad that I came to ask if they were bringing more food and yelled at me that they were short staffed. I’ve never experienced that. Then soon after we checked out we realized we left a few drinks in the room and wanted them back. The concierge promised to call us back twice and never did so we gave up. The room was clean, but the room ac barely worked, the patio was closed and we had planned to use the pool deck, we had light and sound come through our unsealed door, and the customer service was awful. We will NOT be staying at a Hilton again (esp. this one) if we can avoid it. It was $170/night for poorer quality than a motel. More...

This place is awesome for the price. Clean rooms, had some issues with our shower door not closing all the way but overall was a great experience with the room, very clean. Parking is pretty tight but doable. Parking lot will not accommodate larger vehicles on busy nights for sure. This is our second time staying here and the only bad thing I have to say is both times it reeked of marijuana by the elevators on the second floor. It would be cleared out in the morning, but the entire evening it would smell like you were in a hot box right when you get off the elevator. Was not a random smell by any means, it was 100% marijuana. We will probably try another Hilton in the area due to this. More...

Awesome service by Toni, she did an awesome job getting us set up and checked in on us regular. Great job Toni.Sad note they had some unexpected fire alarm testing and when we contacted the front desk he was irritated and projected to us. Learning lesson for management to maybe coordinate with fire dept so notification can be given to guest. If it's a surprise visit then an opportunity to train staff how to handle calls when it's out of their control. More...

This was without a doubt the best experience I have ever had with a hotel. I had multiple instances where the staff went above and beyond to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. The greatest of all was Shaneika assisting me with difficulties that I had with the dryer. We were staying at another nearby hotel *cough cough* (rhymes with comfort lin) and it was so bad we left after the first night of a planned 4 night stay, thankfully ending up here at the Tru Hilton for the rest of our time in the area. I can not stress it enough, all of the staff were phenomenal and so nice, you truly can not beat the level of service they provided for this price. This is now my go to hotel next time I am in the area. More...
