We hired New City Consulting to manage the Poway Center of Performing Arts (PCPA) Re-roof project during construction. Patrick Nolan served as the Resident Engineer and his strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills were integral to the success of the project. It was a challenge to have the roofing contractor work on the roof while ongoing classes and operation remained inside the building. The PCPA building was used by the adjacent Poway High School for theater classes during construction. Patrick worked closely with the contractor and stakeholders to develop a dynamic schedule to ensure the contractor met their weekly work production with minimal disruption to the classes in the building. This required a thorough review of 3-week look ahead schedules that were consistently changing and constant communication with stakeholders to find ways to minimize construction noise impacts. Patrick stayed on top of the contractor to ensure they followed their schedule and always communicated any changes with all stakeholders. What inspired you to start your own business?
I started to see just how many companies and project managers struggled in running their construction projects. I saw a way of managing projects that would benefit the contractor and the owner, a way that would be profitable to all stakeholders. I am passionate about helping other companies improve their project management processes to increase success on their projects.
